The thing I don't like is that your supposed to get headaches, I just started my physical therapy yesterday for headaches I have been getting the past 2 years, I am worried this may aggravate it.

I will say I am looking forward to barbequing some meat tonight.
Good thing I stocked up on Omaha Steaks a month ago lol.

I will also say I found the creamy bacon dressing to be pretty good tasting.
I put it on my salad last night and I also put just a hair on my plain hamburger patty and it was pretty fricken yummy.

I guess I should do an introduction post too.

I am a 38 year old father of 2... yeah I am a guy but hey they guy threads were just a bunch of complaining so I wanted to partner up with some women, so don't kick me out
I work in IT for a university and I am also a motorcycle safety instructor.

Too many fast food jobs in my early 20's, managed a local pizza chain for 3 years and used to drink a lot of beer that's where a lot of my weight came from.
Had my first son at 20, got divorced when he was 5, that has been an adventure in itself.
Got remarried less than a year later to a wonderful woman who was super skinny and I was about 97 pounds lighter at the time. (we have been married 12 years so you don't have to do the math.)
Well we had an event happen in our household that was not so nice and as a result we were cooped up in our house for about 14 months, and I think a lot of "our" weight gain came from that time.
That and fast food......anyways we had our child this past March and we both realized that we need to get in better shape for our son.
So we both started today, so we have a built in support system at home, but I know it's better to have as much support as you can when trying to conquer something like weight so here I am.

Quit drinking about 4 years ago, quit smoking 4 years ago... but didn't start eating healthier. So that's next.

I will try and have my wife create a login as well so that she can become a part of our group too.
Anyways that's me in a big nutshell.
I hope you don't have a problem with a man in the group.

Wayward, you are KICKED OUT for being a man! Go!
Haha I kid. No I love it when guys can be a part of our group, and I think there are a couple other ones floating around on the IP threads. Just so you know, guys tend to do much better at this diet than women (it's kinda like that with all diets I think)
Anyways, welcome! and definitely get your wife on here, too! Best support system ever!

SOUND THE TRUMPET:

FIRST WEIGH IN: LOST 6.8 LBS. YEAH

I posted on the daily thread and nobody got excited for me.... It took me 5 months to lose that much on WW. As I said on the other thread, my coach said some of her most successful clients are the ones with thyroid problems.

I am having another headache today, I had one the first 3 days and it went away. One thing I will tell those on their first few days, the hunger goes away fairly quickly, this is day 7 for me and I didn't even feel like eating all my food.

CELEBRATE, CELEBRATE ME I AM HAPPY!

Default Pleasantly Surprised Day 3

So just popping in to say Wahhhooooo! Now, I am not naive enough to think it is "real" weight loss after 2 days on the program but even seeing a nice drop due to water weight is the encouragement I needed. In 2 days, I am down 4.8 pounds (and back in the 140s!). Just 15.2 to go =)

Mojito Cocktail:
1 cup of Perrier
1 cup of Tap water
Sprinkle splenda to taste
3-4 leafs of fresh mint
1 splash of Mint Extract
3 splash of Rhum Extract
Lemon juice

Mix all this together with ice. This really taste like a mojito!

___________
Bananas Mamas Cocktail:

2 splash of banana extract
1 splash of coconut extract
1 splash of rhum extract
2-3 lemon slice
1 cup Perrier
1 cup tap water (well you can only put Perrier if you want)

Mix all this together with crushed ice, add splenda if you want, and it taste like Bahamas!!
___

All those extract are in the cake section of the grocery store. Mine are from club house I don't think they have some calories or carbs.. The ingredients are water, propylene glycol, alcohol and artificial flavour. I think that it's allright.. anyway, it's better than cheating!!
So thank her for these great recipes! Make sure you check the labels for any sugars or syrups on the flavorings(extracts).

Ohhh I am liking these recipes! Never heard of "Rhum" before! Where do you find that?

I haven't gotten creative yet with anything. I have had many a lettuce stir fry already and giant salads with veggies chopped so small the salad weighs 10 pounds! I read somewhere that planning is the key and I need to spend Monday getting on top of that - precooking chicken breasts, chopping up tons of veggies at once (when I am not hungry), and preparing some of the drink or pudding mixes and freezing them in advance for tastier treats (so I hope). Right now I feel I am always 2 steps behind, chopping while starving, missing supplements, etc. One day at a time . . .

Good for you!! Looks like we started out at about the same weight and that was my first week's loss too! What your coach said about her most successful clients have thyroid problems is very interesting. I am on thyroid meds and wondered if it was helping or hindering my weight loss.
