Yaaaaa! I found the thread I wanted. Laura G.- were gonna do this thing! Wayward, we love guys.. are you kidding me!!! Celticgirl, Darbi40 - glad I found yall. There are too many of you guys to name but I am very excited to have such an amazing support group. If I can only figure out how to upload my picture now I start ip this upcoming week. I have decided I will probably start on Thursday since I have terrible, frequent migraines. That way, if I get one, I can sleep a lot Saturday and Sunday. Wish me well.

Newbie here. Just had my first WI on Friday, down 5.4. Totally will take that one.
I may not have as much to lose as some, but it is just as cumbersome and exhausting, when I have tried everything to get this 20 lbs off!
I have been OP since 7/3, made it through the holiday weekend, even a cookout and stayed OP. Have only come across a few things that I don't like but for the most part really am enjoying the products.
My biggest issue remains to be the salt, I hate adding salt to my food. Talked about it with my coach and she told me that I would be okay if I was eating dill pickles, not to consume the full amount, which has helped tremendously the last two days.
Glad to have found a page with several others that are just starting!

Way to go Heather!!! That is an awesome result. Funny thing about the measurements... I forgot to ask when I would be measured again when I weighed in on Friday. I can't remember if my coach told me it was every other week of every three weeks. I sure hope it is next week... kinda curious to see where I am.

Headaches.... I have not had one... thank goodness, but was told if I did to add 1/3 teaspoon of sea salt in a glass of water and that should eliminate the headache in about 15 minutes.

All of you are talking about using Splenda.... I was told not to use Splenda... not sure why, but I know we discussed it and was told not to use it.

I love my coffee and giving it up with flavored creamer I knew was going to be tough. I am an RN and work 12 hour night shifts, so I LOVE my coffee. I saw someone else post about coffee and mixing it with one of the IP packs... with ice! Love it... have been using it as my late night dessert, so to speak at 3 AM one 8 oz cup black coffee, with either cappuccino packet (extra water) and then ice in my Magic bullet blender.... LOVING IT! I also mixed with the choc drink pack... also awesome!

Heres hoping to great success is week 2!

I too am a newbie. My husband and I started IP together on 6/26 we have our 2nd weigh in tomorrow. My first weigh in I lost 8.2 1bs and my hubby
71bs. It has been very helpful to share the journey with him. As you can tell it is late and I better get to bed. I've been told not a enough sleep will cause weight gain!!! Gotta go...I'll post after my WI.

Newbie here too! I started on July 3rd and had my first weigh in on Thursday, I was down 3.7 lbs, which wasn't too bad considering it was only day 5 for me then. Didn't loose too many inches, but I'm hoping my next weigh in will be a little better. I'm going to start incorporating some short 30min brisk walks into my schedule, and hopefully that will help. Tried roasted veggies last night for dinner and wow, so delish compared to the usual steaming. Good luck everyone!

It's kind of a strange situation how we got into trying this out, but it worked out well for us in the long run.
But we were kind of rushed through it and we wont meet our coach until next week.
Of course our 4 month old not being on the best behavior definitely played a part in our lack of full disclosure to the whole program.

For now I will just have to cold turkey it lol.
Welcome to all the Newbies!!!! Just like to visit different threads and get motivation from everyone. Just thought I would mention that for those of you that are needing to kick the "cola" habit...there is a product called Talking Rain (I get mine at Costco) that is 0-0-0 and is not sweetend with aspertain (sp). Of course, use it in moderation as a special treat and in addition to your water not in place of it.

Good luck everyone on this awesome IP journey!!!!!!!!!!

I am a "somewhat newbie" in that I've started IP a few time now, but have not been able to get to that 10 day mark without messing it up. I am jumping back on the wagon today - my health will not hold out much longer (not to mention my knees), so I have no other options but to succeed. I do have a question though: I've noticed a few of you are doing IP with your spouse (I am a gal, but am thinking of asking my hubby to do IP with me this time) - how is that working for you? I have much more to loose than my hubs, and I know guys tend to loose much faster than gals do. Any info/experience/advice would be appreciated as to how it's working out to do the program with your spouse.

It's been so great reading all of your stories and successes - very encouraging!!!

Elizabeth,
Thanks for the welcome. You mentioned "Talking Rain" not being sweetened with apertain and 0-0-0. I have found Diet Rite products using splenda that are also 0-0-0 and no caffeine. I have used these also for a special treat why others are drinking wine or beer. It really helps. I just completed my 2nd week! Going strong!. 12.2 1bs.
Good luck to you too. Jan

My husband and I started IP three weeks ago -- we are starting week 4. It has been mostly great doing this with him -- I got sick the first three days and he did not -- he got a cold wash cloth for me when I was hurling up my chilli on day 2. He is losing weight much faster than I am -- but that is pretty normal -- men tend to lose more quickly than women do. Not fair, but that is the way it is.

It is nice to be on this plan together because we are each other's support system.

More power to you if you can get your spouse to be on this plan with you -- we give each other moral support. Most of all, I like coming to this forum and learning -- then, I relay the information back to my husband.

Oh, I kept Lone Loser as my name because that is a name I use for other things.
