What is it with FAFSA? Why on earth do they require parent information for a college student until they are 26 or married? It is so unfair! I think I should have my daughter apply to become emancipated so she'll qualify for some financial assistance!! She can't even qualify for a loan or a job on campus because we make too much. And why do they require you file by March 2 WITH tax info? Like I've done my 2008 taxes? NOT! I JUST got the last info from my broker yesterday. There's no way my cpa can get me the numbers for her fafsa, but then she's still required to turn it in.
I just spent the last half hour or so scanning and uploading some photos from a magazine. These photos are of a custom home we did in La Jolla. In case you want to see the kind of work we do, here is a link to the album: San Diego Home/Garden January 2009.
And the same home as featured in Architectural Digest: April 2008
Imagine my surprise, Allison, to see those pictures that look JUST LIKE my home! (I only wish!!!!) Gosh, that is just beautiful. I just don't know where we would put our chicken coops and bunny hutch and of course, the barn....
Diane, you wouldn't want that home. I've never been there, but my husband describes is as very cold. All cement and glass. I don't even think they have any carpet or draperies. Quite industrial.
Husband #1 - that's sequence not quality! - was an architect. I visited many a house that were big and cold like that one but were considered architectural masterpieces. I love my wee cluttered 1929 village house with it's porches and old doors that wouldn't keep anybody out.
Hey, got a real person finally at Air Canada and switched my west coast booking to Halifax instead. It was great and the refund from a cancelled flight at Christmas covered the re-booking fee. I can stop griping now but don't count on it!
Wow Allison, those are great picts. But I don't think I'd be able to live their either, as I'd want curtains and rugs... well a livable house. My kids would be totally bored and probably try hanging off a chandelier. No, would there be chandelier in such a house? Hmmm...???
Allison-that's not a home, that's a hotelMy son's entire football team could work out in the living room! Shoot, we couldn't even afford the car that's in the garage
What a view!!!! That is gorgeous! I couldn't live there either. I was thinking it was so cold. My fear of heights would be a deal breaker not to mention the millions it must cost. The view though!!! You just can't beat it!
Slashnl - could you send some of that rain my way. We definitely need rain!!!!
It was a relatively uneventful day today, except for the overturned tractor-trailer on the interstate near work. I knew something was wrong when I heard the two helicopters hovering overhead. (I was already at work and don't get on the interstate to get to work.) I believe the driver was unhurt. No lanes were blocked and the traffic was reduced to a crawl in both directions.
well i am glad to see that everyone here seems to be in a good mood. everyone at work was crabby today and that is not fun to deal with and to top it all off we hardly have any work to do so that may have had something to do with the bad moods however we are still getting our 40 hours so i guess no one really has the right to complain to much. oh well. good night everyone.
