I can't understand one thing tho... I worked out, watched what I ate - maximum of 1400 on beachbody, 22 points on WW [which by my calculations is 1100 calories (50 cal/pt) or 1320 calories (60 cals/pt)] and I gained weight!?!

Has anyone had that happen?

Have you been drinking enough water?

ev855 08-03-2006 12:06 PM

yes, like a fish - about 64oz. Should it be more?

Hey everybody I just joined here today and ordered TJ today I posted a new Thread Turbo Jam Discount Codes and I got mine for 34.61 so if money is tight check the thread out!!!1

Ev, I know some people GAIN weight because they are changing fat to muscle and muscle weighs more. I don't know if it has happened a lot with Turbo Jam. I know it did with Tae Bo. I would just wait and see what happens. Muscle burns more fat so soon, you should be burning more calories and losing weight.

I didn't gain but I didn't lose either for along time.

Good luck, Rachelle

Hi everyone! I was thinking about Turbo jam and read A LOT of this long thread! I decided to order it from QVC. I'm excited!

Ev, a lot of people lose fat and gain muscle, which is heavier but takes up less space and looks a lot more toned. So maybe you shouldn't worry unless you aren't losing inches either from month to month. You're doing great to stick with the program, keep up the good work!

I'm still traveling...did Cardio Jam twice in a depressing dorm room in the past three days, and will do it again tomorrow in my hotel room by the Bay near Oakland. It's nice that the routine doesn't take much room!

Thanks Rachelle and Judy.

Well I've been keeping it up. I do the 20 min workout. I gained .2 lbs this week.
I was keeping to my eating plan, although yesterday was my birthday (51 yo). But I was really good - we went to a Mexican place and I had shrimp fajita(s) - only one 6inch tortilla with 6 shrimps and lots of peppers and onions.

I keep track on beachbody as well as WW points and it's pretty close.

I've been drinking water and pee constantly (is that normal?)

I've been working with light weights and resistance bands, upper body work, so I feel it in my triceps and I feel it in my buns from the TJ kicks and I feel alittle tighter in my abs, although I haven't lost any inches yet.

I'll just keep on jammin'!!

Ev, you did good at the Mexican place. You can have a pretty healthy meal there, but I want to eat mass quantities of tortilla chips and extra cheese.

I did Cardio Jam this morning, and went for a 45-minute walk before lunch. I have an early flight back home tomorrow, so I probably won't get to work out. I have water and snacks for the cross-country flight.

Have a good day--judy

Ahhh, those tortilla chips... They came out hot - and I couldn't resist and I had 5 or 6 with salsa. But I counted those in my calories. As WW says, you need to count the BLT's (bites, licks and tastes).

Well as of today, I lost .5 lb. Did the Burn this morning. I think I'm getting the hang of the moves. I still feel like a spaz, but it's getting better

Hi Everyone!
I'm totally new here, so please forgive my ignorance. I've been checking out this thread and lurking for so long! Everyone seems so supportive & friendly towards each other. All of the progress people post here is encouraging and inspiring! So anyway, I went and ordered my Turbo Jam from QVC, and it should be on my steps today or tomorrow! Are there any new challenges going on that I could join? Any words of wisdom for the TJ Newbie?
~Thanks!
Debi

Welcome Debi. The Turbo Jam Advanced Rotation-July 10-July 24 and beyond post should have a challenge in there. I've been lurking there so I should know more details. That would be a good place to start for the challenge part.

As far as advice for a newbie . . . just listen to your body, don't worry if you can't finish or "get it" right away - it really will come, do the Learn and Burn as many times as you need to at the beginning and then move onto the 20 Minute. And most important - remember - no one is watching!!!!! :) I've been doing TJ since September and I am still thankful no one is watching me "jam". ;) It really is a fun workout - the time goes by so fast. Good luck and keep us posted to how it's going.

Hi Debi,

I am interested in starting a new Turbo Challenge if you or anyone else is interested. Why dont we start on Monday. That will give you a chance to get your videos and practice a couple of times and I can get the food I need to the 10 day challenge.

What do you think? Let me know.

I figure we can start a new thread to do this.

Everyone is invited! Please join us!

Hi Angel,
I'm definitely up for the challenge to start on Monday! That's a great suggestion and I so glad I won't be doing this alone. I really think that will help me along!

Rachelle, thank you for your words of wisdom. :-) I have to admit while I was lurking around the posts, I always enjoyed reading yours. You seem very knowledgeable, insightful, and always positive.

I'm happy I found this site! It seems like a good place to be.
~Have a wonderful day!

Thank you Debi. Your kind words mean a lot. I'm glad to know I can help in some way. I hope that my journey can help others - it hasn't been easy but then if it had been, I wouldn't have learned anything. This way, I know what the frustration feels like and I'm more apprecative of the small things - or at least I try to be. I didn't gain this weight in a month so I can't expect to lose it that fast either . . . although wouldn't that be nice!!!! The one thing with eating plans and exercise workouts though is what works for one might not work for the next so it really is all about finding what you are comfortable with and what IS right for your body. We weren't made the same.

I love reading how much fun others are getting from Turbo Jam. They have a camp this weekend and I soooo wished I could have been there. What a blast that is going to be and I THINK they will be taping another workout there too. But don't quote me on that one. Maybe they will have another one next year and we all can go - we'll have the 3fatchicks team!!!!

Goodnight! Rachelle
