Hi, I'm still out here. I belong to the Daily Check-In thread, and stopped coming this way once the challenges were over.
AbJam is pretty difficult when you have a lot of belly fat...I enjoy doing the Turbo Sculpt and Cardio Jam. Although right now I'm extremely pissed at the TurboJam folks for putting a bogus charge on my cerdit card..I won't hold it against Chalene, it's more about the way that the salespeople keep peppering you with stuff you're saying 'no' to when you call just to order the videos. Next time I'll stick to ordering by web! Anyway, I'm still jamming a few times a week, interspersed with other workouts. |
Judy, it's not Turbo Jam, it's Beachbody and there are others that have had a lot of problems with their customer service. If they would "fix" their customer service, they would have an awesome company. Right now, they just have awesome products - which they would sell more of if it weren't for their CS. So far, knock on wood, the few I've had have been taken care of right away - but usually order from their website. I've had to call in for replacements a few times and they have never given me a problem with that thank goodness. Good luck. Course - now I say this . . . LOL Hopefully my luck will continue.

Yeah Beach body is a bit notorious for bad CS.
On the plus side, I haven't had issues though and I've ordered 3 times and also signed up for the club and cancelled that with no issue, so maybe they have cleaned up their act a bit. I used to hear a lot about bogus charges on CCs, but no issues here. I even got the live ones for free because I had a 25 dollar coupon and all they charged me for was shipping. |
thanks, it's live and learn...my phone conversation with CS last March was pretty comical, actually. I kept saying, "No, all I want is the video," while the salesman was relentlessly pushing vitamins and whatnot...like Monty Python's Spam Cafe. Six months later I'm charged for some online support or something....I'll never order through operators again if I can help it.
I really like the original Cardio Jam. How does it compare to the other TJ cardio routines? |
The first cardio party is still my favorite but I've been only doing turbo jam for maybe 2 months now? I like the second one alright too I think it doesnt have the caoperia though... Didn't like the Live one as much, it was shorter and sorta a mix of 1 and 2. Infact Im about to trade someone for Punch,Kick, Jam for my Live one - might revisit it at another time.
I also have CP3 but right now it's too fast paced for me I have to lose more weight before I tackle it. |
Idealmuse, You will not be disappointed if you get PKJ. That is my second favorite. I have all 13 TJ workouts and cannot wait for the new ones to be released in October. I love all of them. I do something different for 12 days because I no longer use the Learn and Burn unless, I have someone who wants to try it.
I would have to agree that the Customer Service of Beachbody is a problem, not Turbo Jam. They just want to sell you as much as they can. The last order I placed, I entered everything I wanted on the computer and used my discount that I had and I totally bypassed them. |
Beginner Turbo Jam question
May I ask your opinions?? I am looking for a home workout with music, and I saw the commercials for Turbo Jam. It might be over my head, but I thought I could modify it til I am smaller??
Anyway, my question has to do with the instructor. I have a dvd by Leslie Sansone/Walk Away the Pounds. It drives me bonkers!!! (Apologies to anyone liking her). She has motormouth, talking, chattering, laughing all the time, constantly...drives me nuts. :dizzy: I can't even get into the rhythm of the music for all the talking; in fact I can hardly HEAR some of the music for all the talking...guess that's just me. :o So, does the instructor on Turbo Jam talk constantly?? Instruction is fine, even necessary...just not useless filler chatter. I really hate to spend more money on something I won't use...I would appreciate opinions from those who actually have seen the whole dvd. Also, which Turbo Jam would you recommend for a beginner who is....ahem...."large" still?? :?: Thanks in advance for any ideas or suggestions. Loretta =^..^= |
so punch kick jam and original cardio party are the best? Would this be true for those of us still suffering from size 18 wide/relaxed fit PLUS and 20 wide PLUS syndrome?
|
mkat321, I think no matter what your size you can do the workouts. They show you a modified version on all the videos, just do it at your own pace until you have the strength to kick it into high gear. You can do it!

Hi, I want to thank those who posted earlier that QVC sells Turbo Jam. I've been watching the infomercials for over a year and even called to order through beach body once, but I ended up cancelling that order even before getting off the the phone. Those customer service people are really manipulating and before I knew my visa was being charge well over $100! So for months I've been considering ebay but the prices there didn't seem to be worth the risk. Anything reasonably priced for the most part was used. Today I almost brought myself to bid on a used Turbo Jam set for more money than QVC offers it new. But before I did I thought I'd check if there was any reviews on this site. (I haven't thought to look here before) Thank goodness I did.
So finally I just ordered through QVC today and am paying by check so at least I know exactly what I'm being charge for and I will not be getting any surprise shipments of extra dvds (and charges) in the mail. Plus they have a 30 day guarantee if there is anything wrong with the dvds, or if I hate the program (except for shipping cost). But from what I've read here it sounds just exactly what I've been looking for. I've been doing a good pilates workout, but doing it everyday is starting to get boring, and before that I just coulldn't bring myself to do anymore Firm transfirmer workouts. I wanna have fun and get skinny too!! Again, thanks for the QVC tip!!!! |
Loretta, I totally agree with you re Leslie Sansone. Her routines are fine, but she's such a Chatty Cathy that I want to scream! But her style works for thousands of people, so hey, different strokes for diff'runt folks, as we used to say back in the day. Chalene is awfully perky, too, but not so manic. I weigh over 230 still and have arthritis, and I can do most of the original TJ routines, although I'm not too good with Ab Jam, so I know that you can do it! Start with the 20-minute workout and Cardio Jam, and feel free to stick with the modifications--or just keep marching in step--until you're ready for more.
Mkat, I don't have punch kick. I'm sorta lame with the kicks, but I do the best I can, and it feels like a good, safe workout. judy |
Hi everybody!!! I just wanted to stop by and say "hello" and to let y'all know that I'm still loving Turbo Jam. I'm chomping at the bit for those new workouts to come out. A small clip was being displayed on Youtube a few days ago, but it had been removed by the time I found out about it. From what I hear, it's some type of ball workout.
Out of all the workouts, CP1, CP2, CP3, CP Remix, and PK&J are my favorites. Heck, I love them all. I rotate and use them all...on my so-called "rest days", I do either the 20-minute w/o or learn and burn. Occasionally, I'll do some other type of workout just to mix it up a bit, but it's really hard 'cause everything else seems so boring now. Good luck everybody!! |
I'm curious - how hard is the choreography in the Turbo Jam videos? Because I have this tendency to get frustrated and give up if I can't keep with the choreography. It looked kinda intricate on the website, and that has me worried.
Also, how is it on knees? Bad knees run in my family, and I want to be careful. Thanks! |
I've been doing Turbo Jam for a few weeks now. I've done the 20 minute workout, Turbo Sculpt (left me sore for DAYS), and some of ab jam. I LOVE turbo jam! It's so much fun, and I lost 3 pounds this week alone, which is definitely a record for me! :)

My favorite TJ workouts is the Maximum series but I like them all - the only ones I don't do as often is Ab Jam (because it's hard to fit in) and Lower Body (because my lower body isn't my main problem - although I shouldn't look at it that way as it is a Turbo Jam workout so it does work the rest of your body too). BUT I would not have started Turbo Jam without doing the Learn and Burn and the 20 Minute workout for many months - and I was doing Tae Bo for almost 7 years when I first got TJ a year ago. IF you do the Learn and Burn and learn the right form, it won't hurt your knees or joints. IF it does, then that means your feet aren't turned in the right direction or your knees are over your toes - that sort of thing.
Turbo Jam is for ANYONE no matter what size, or height, or personality. ;) I love to dance but I'm a dork doing it - that is why I like doing this at my own home without anyone watching. Chalene has a very bubbly personality but she is such a geninune, warm hearted person - she doesn't get on my nerves but there are some that she does. That is why it is so wonderful that there are so many instructors out there for us to choose from. I've tried one Leslie workout and it bored me to tears. She didn't irritate me though - course, I used to Denise Austin all the time. I can tune out voices and music when I am working out. Maybe that is why I like Turbo Jam so much - it doesn't let me tune the music out and it makes it more fun. With Turbo Jam - as with any workout, start out with what you CAN do - 5 minutes is better then zero and YOU WILL build it up to where you will do 10 minutes, then 20 - pretty soon you'll be doing a Cardio Party in no time. And don't get discouraged - like "I only did FIVE minutes" - think in five minutes, I had some nice kicks or I remembered to do my "W", things like that. My favorite saying of Chalene's is that mistakes burn calories - sooooo true. The cheorography I think it nice. She goes over the moves enough time that you will eventually catch on. Now, some say her workouts are repeticious. I don't find that to be true MYSELF - I don't even feel like I'm working out, I'm having so much fun. And I can say this a year later!!!!! I'm glad you tried QVC lilbit. And you are starting with the starter package. It really is the right way to go. I burn just as many calories in the 40 minute Cardio Parties as I do in the Kick Punch and Jam and the Cardio Party 3 but I do like those two more. I fit them all in a routine though. I can't wait - she has a new one coming out this month. Wish it was more but I'll take what I can. CP 1 and CP 2 are a little more fast paced which is why I burn just as much in 40 minutes as I do the 50 minute workouts. Good luck everyone and welcome to the Turbo Jam train!!!!!! Rachelle |
