I just bought a heart rate monitor on Saturday. I started using it on Sunday. I did the cardio party #1 and found that I burned about 500 calories in the 45 (40 cardio, 5 warm up and cool down) minute workout. Of course calories burned depends on your age, weight, height, intensity and all that good stuff.
The workout is a lot of fun. The reason we all keep saying this is because it doesn't feel like work. That's VERY important to me. If I get bored, I won't do it. It does give great results too. Unfortunately, I've been on a plateau with my weight, but my clothes are fitting much better. In the first month, I lost about 7 inches all over and about 8 pounds. (I didn't follow the 10 day plan) I would recommend TJ to anyone. I love it! But I do understand the reluctance about buying stuff on infomercials. You just never know. I'm glad I took the chance. Good Luck! Diane |
I warn you, this may be TMI, but here goes.....
It's that TOM right now for me, I woke up with some pretty yucky cramps. I decided to do just a light workout. Usually I do 2 workouts, but was only going to do one since I wasn't feeling up to it. I did the Punch, Kick & Jam and after I got through with that I wasn't feeling crampy anymore, so I did the Fat Blaster too! I am so glad I got off my butt and did it, cuz I could have easily layed in bed and took a nap with my son and felt miserable all day. I am feeling SO much better! Okay, I'm done.....:) Diane |
Way to go Diane!! You are so amazing. No wonder you're seeing such great results. Keep it up. I did the punch, kick jab, the 3T, and a TurboKick session. I think I'm developing a problem, but its so fun when new workouts arrive!

I just ordered the original Turbo Jam... :)

Good for you Dreamer! Hopefully you get it quickly, so you can be addicts like us :) Diane |
Thanks, I'm really excited!! Haha, with the price, hopefully I'll get really into it! Maybe that'll motivate me :)

Excited to start!
Thanks for the welcome! I can't wait to get my new DVDs. It's really motivating to hear you guys talk about working out, and which videos you used (even a couple of times a day! That's pretty hardcore).
I was wondering how much you worked out when you started (or started over ;) ) I am probably going to start out pretty slow, doing the first video maybe 3 times in the first week and progressing from there. I don't want to overdo it because that's how I get burnt out quickly. Thanks in advance for any advice! ~Kelly |
Hi everybody,
I just saw the infomercial this am on the turbo jam...okay now be honest which one do you like the BEST the original or the new ones most of you just got??? I know they stress buy the original first..but I think most of that is to make more money have everybody buy them all...lol But be honest can you really just buy the new one and be just fine?? ( Fat blaster,3T,Cardo 3 & Punch Kick ) Also, with the new tapes which one give you the BEST AB workout??? Thanks ladies!!! |
Kelly - I started out with Learn & Burn and the 20 min workout and did those for about a week or so. Since I started over I've been working out 6 times a week though. Start out as slow as you need to. Go at your own pace. You may just find out it's so much fun that you WANT to do it more. Let us know how it goes.
beccafries - My honest opinion is that I would have NEVER been able to do the new dvd's without doing the original ones first. I love the new ones but the others are great too. My personal opinion is to get the originals and then move on to the others. Of course you may catch on quicker than I did to the moves, so it's completely up to you. cjlafaye - Hey girl! Where've you been? How are things going? Diane |
I agree with Diane regarding getting the first set first. I have been doing TaeBo for 7 years and I still would go with the first set first. I used Learn and Burn a few times and still add that on to the 20 Minute every once in awhile to make sure I have the tuck, shoulders back, etc. - and the 11 elite moves. The 20 Minute is my favorite and I love to add that on with a weight workout or add the Ab Jam to it to make a 40 minute workout.
I have to add with the Yoga Booty Ballet, I did skip the first package when I heard the Lives were much better. I would not say that with the Turbo Jam workouts. Rachelle |
CDANTON1,
Hi, I'm new here, but not to TJ. And I'm not a plant. Just a normal person losing weight. I've been doing TJ since Jan 1 and have lost 11 pounds and 17 inches (inch loss from chest, waist, hips, thighs and upper arms.) I believe you really can burn 1000 calories, IF you can put in the intensity required. I average 300-400 calories burned per workout. And I workout 5-6 days a week. Chalene is the real deal. Hope this helps! Karen |
Just saw the infomercial...
I just saw it for the first time... I stayed up to watch it! Of course, all informercials have that cheese factor but I think I am going to really like this program!
I think the biggest thing that I get bored with in other workout videos is that I always feel like it's such a chore to do them. Turbo Jam seems to be more fun and you don't have to do everything perfectly. I also like that the people in the workout (mostly women) are all different sizes. Sorry to be such a dork, but I am excited to get started! Thanks Connorsmum and RachelleS for the advice on the first videos to do and what videos are worth buying. ~Kelly |
Thanks Ladies!! :)

I am disappointed. After all this research I've done, I finally decided to order TJ last night. According to the button I pushed, the total was going to be 3 X $19.95 for the DVDs and $12.95 for shipping and handling, which totals under $73. When I clicked "Yes, I want to try TurboJam." and was taken to checkout, my total was over $95, yet I did not add anything else. I could accept a difference of a few bucks, but a $22 difference? That's not acceptable. So I backed out of the purchase and wrote an email to their customer service asking for an explanation. Depending on what kind of answer I get, I may still buy--but it seems pretty darned suspicious to me. Looks to me that they're counting on people either not to do the math themselves or to be so excited at that point, they just accept the extra cost.

What....NO??? I was gonna order sometime this week, keep me posted on the response you get back
