Did you spend 2 months on the Lean Phase or did you do the whole program 2 times?

Hi everyone!

So after reading through all 500+ posts on the previous thread and all 19 pages on this page, I finally feel ready to post a "hello"! I feel amazed by everyone on here...the dedication and support is incredible!

I started ChaLEAN Extreme on February 14th and haven't missed a day yet. I believe I'm around day 48 or so. I purchased P90X last year and made it about half way but the length of the videos was WAY too long and CE is much better!

I have lots of questions and would love to lend any support I can but I don't want this first message to go on too long. I do have one first question...I tried to save some money by buying the product from someone other than Beachbody and of course, I didn't receive everything I thought I would. I would love some help with the eating plan. How does ChaLEAN calculate how many calories I should be eating? I'm using mydailyplate to track calories but I have NO idea how much ChaLEAN recommends.

If someone could let me know how she calculates it...that would be so great. I feel like it's my diet that's holding back my progress. I am 5'7" and 144lbs, if that helps to calculate. Thank you SO MUCH in advance! I can't wait to reach my goals with all of you!!

She recommends calories based on sex and weight. For a female weighing 121-150 pounds, she recommends 1300 calories a day. The food plan are 3 meals and 2 snacks. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner add up to 1000 calories, and she suggests adding in the other calories through the use of those 2 snacks. All of the meals are high protein. Most of the breakfasts have 20-25 grams or more. Lunches have 30-50 grams, and dinners have 40 grams or more. Probably an average of 100 grams of protein per day. I hope this has helped you some.

Thank you so much for this information! Last year my hubby and I went through about half of P90X and the diet was very much different! It focused on high protein also, but the calorie intake was almost 1800 for me! Yikes! Does anyone worry that the 1300 is not enough since some say to not go under 1200 (with exercise added in)?

How's everyone doing? How are you liking it so far, SquishySquirrel?

Skyra, I have noticed that weight loss on CE seems a little slow. A few years ago I lost about 25lbs by counting calories and using an eliptical every day for 30 minutes...and it seems like that was less work and the pounds came off quicker than with this program. BUT...I keep having to remind myself that the reason I'm doing this program is not the number on the scale...but it's because when I did lose the 25lbs I still wasn't toned and still didn't like how I looked in a bathing suit. It's such a struggle to keep remembering that!! I am holding out some major hope for the Lean phase because I've heard the fat that's hiding the muscle will start to "melt" off...bring on the melting!!

One thing I love about this program that I was reminded about this weekend...is that it's very flexible! I usually take Saturday and Monday off (I will do some cardio on Monday at least)...but we were out of town this weekend from Friday afternoon to Monday afternoon. So to get my workouts in, I did my Friday workout on Friday morning...and then I've rearranged for M, W, F to be Push Circuit and Tues for burn intervals and Thurs for burn it off. That way my lifting days are still spaced one day apart, and then I can start my normal rotation back up next Sunday. It really is much more flexible than P90X! Another plus for this program!!

I hope everyone is doing well! "Stay strong, athletes!!"

Well... I'm finishing my last week of the Lean Phase. I really didn't expect to get ripped this first time around, because I have quite a lot to lose. I still have a little over 25 pounds to drop, but I've seen major results with Chalean.

I'll be doing the Lean For Life Phase for a month an then I'll do a second round of CLX.

The last time I've stepped on a scale was 45 days ago, and I lost almost 13 pounds on the first 45 days of Chalean and lost 16 inches all over my body. Next week I'll be measuring myself again so that number will go up.

I do CLX with Turbo Jam and I do a cardio exercise every single day except on my rest day. I do at least 1 hour of exercise 6x a week, with an average of 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Hi MJKiddo!

That's great that you're finishing up Lean...way to go! I've never made it through a full 90 days of a beachbody program...that's awesome that you did! I can't wait to hear how your measurements go for the end. That was already a lot of inches you lost on your first 45 days :)

I don't own Turbo Jam...but I've thought about buying it. Would you recommend it? I love to dance...is it all dance moves? How's the music? About how long are the videos? Thanks for the info!!

Hello,
After quite a challenge to get my CE program, it is FINALLY HERE! I live in Guam, my hubby is in the military and Beach Body will not ship to me. Their loss! I ordered it from Amazon and when the box arrived it only had the resistance bands. I finally found success by ordering the program through ebay.
I did the first workout today... boy do my arms feel rubbery! I am such a weakling, but I hope that will change soon!
All of your posts are so encouraging, so thank you gals for the motivation you give me to get my butt off the couch and work out!

squishysquirrel 04-08-2010 07:49 PM

I'm on my second week of CLX and will be doing Burn circuit 3 tomorrow. I haven't noticed anything yet, but my boyfriend has. I have been measuring my waist, though, and I have lost 2.5 inches so far. I do plan to stick with this program because it isn't the same routine every day. I will be taking pictures at 30 days and hope that I will finally be able to visibly see results.

UK - Chalean Extreme

Hi
I've been doing Chalean Extreme for 6 weeks now and haven't seen any weight loss which is disappointing but I think that I've lost inches but not loads. I've just started the 'Making the Cut' diet by Jillian Michaels so I'm hoping that will kick my weight loss into gear.
Anyone else in the UK doing CE? I only found it by accident and I am really enjoying it which is a first for me and exercise. I've also splashed out on the Bowflex weight which I think makes it much easier.
I've only got about 20lbs to lose so I'm hoping that once it's gone I'll be able to see some real definition in my muscles. :)

I finished ChaLEAN Extreme!!! So proud of myself!! The results are amazing! :D Not a ripped body, but I lost a lot of weight and I'm starting to see muscle!!!

I lost a little over 16 pounds and a little over 17 inches all over my body!!! While I was taking the pictures I actually say my biceps, shoulders muscle and the anterior deltoids! Holy fck!! Sorry for the language, but I was waaay excited!

Anyway, I'll be doing the Lean For Life Phase for 30 days and then I'll start CLX over again. Only this time, I'll be doing CLX with Insanity!! INSANITY!! :D I can't wait!!! I will still do some Turbo Jam though... I love it too much to let it go!

My CLX just arrived today, and I think I'll be starting on Sunday.

I just wanted to say that I've been reading this thread for a while now, while I decided if I wanted to buy it, and you've all been very inspiring and very helpful!

Is there anyone else who'll be starting the next week or so?

mjkiddo- congrats on finishing up clx! Would you mind posting your progress pics? That would be awesome to see! I'm on my final week of the Lean phase and I only have one more workout to go before I am finished! I have crappy photo editing software but if I can figure it out I will post my progress pics as well! I am moving on to P90X with INSANITY. I've been doing Insanity 1x-2x a week just to up my cardio and I love it. You get such an amazing feeling of accomplishment when you are done! But again I say CONGRATS to you! and Good luck with INSANITY! You're gonna love it!

Sue991 04-15-2010 11:59 AM

I'm on week 3 of the Push circuit and although I'm enjoying it (which is a first for me with exercise) I'm not seeing any weight loss although I think that I am more toned. Did anyone else get the same results? I'm currently 136lbs at 5' 0" and want to get down to 115-120lbs but I did expect to lose something. Is it because of muscle mass weighing more than fat? I've got the Bowflex weights so the issue isn't the weight I'm lifting. I always make sure that I lift more than the 'beginner' does. Any advice appreciated!:)

are you doing extra cardio? and what is your diet like, and your age all have factors......Some people just drop weight easy I FOR ONE DO NOT! So it just depends on your body and what you put in. I eat about 1800 calories of totally clean foods and am doing INSANITY and CHALEAN {lifting heavy} BOTH on a daily basis and ONLY maintain my weight and GAIN if I eat a calorie over! I am 57.
