MJ - I mix CLX with TJ. When I started I tried doing CLX and then TJ immediately after and found that I was pretty useless. So I switched it up and did cardio first. I found that I still had plenty of energy for CLX afterwards.

Can I ask you girls something? On some exercises, like lunges and squats with lifts (triceps or biceps) or the bowler's lunge with single arm, I tend to feel more on my leg than on my arms (where the weights are). I fail first on the legs than on the arms. Is that normal or I am doing it wrong?

The bowlers lunges KILL ME!!! I definitely feel it more in the legs than in the upper body, but I think that's what Chalene intended. :) They make my booty SORE!

MissJ-I sent you a PM but I'll answer here for everyone else too.
I own a body bugg but prefer my Polar 6 Heart Rate monitor because I don't like to wear the body bugg all day long. I just put my HR monitor on before I workout. It has a chest strap that measures my HR and transfers it to the wrist watch so I can keep an eye on my HR, calories burned, minutes exercised etc.

If you don't have either, I HIGHLY recommend it so you can have an accurate measure of the calories burned which would also help you to know if you are eating too many or too few calories to compensate your workouts.

I'm running a bunch of errands for my sons birthday party today but will do my workout tonight and post my results/feelings afterwards.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Not sure if I already answered this so here it goes:
Right now I'm focusing on just CLX....I'm pretty new to working out but I would like to kick it up a notch and add some extra cardio in there when I'm feeling up to it.
I'll probably start next week but some weeks are hectic with school since I am taking A&P and two online classes, plus work so if I ONLY get to CLX than I am a happy mama! :D

I wouldn't kick yourself if you can't get any extra in but DEF give it a go if your body can handle it and you have the time. I don't think it can really hurt your progress?
However, I]in the PUSH phase, I don't know if I'd add TOO much more since you are trying to build up your muscle but I'm no expert.....maybe a few 30 min sessions?

ginnym1981 01-30-2010 11:47 PM

First Day of week 2!

I did Burn Circuit 1 and afterwards did about 35 mins of Pilates. I think I may try to do this a few times a week after a Circuit workout and maybe add another 20-30 mins of cardio on the 3rd Circuit workout that way I can keep both of my rest days. Later down the road or if I feel up for it than I'll bring it down to 1 rest day and add in another long cardio workout.

I felt really good tonight! I used 10-15lbs again on my lower legs and chest/bench exercises. My shoulder work I'm still using 5 lbs but man do those burn! I hope I can at least get up to 10lbs before I get to the Push phase!

Off to study! Tomorrow is my Rest day so I'll be back Monday night! :)
Hope everyone is pushing play!

MJKiddo 01-31-2010 02:31 AM

ginnym1981, wow, you're already using 10lbs? Very nice! :D I only have 3lb dumbbells and the bands. For some I use the bands and for others, the band. I think I'm doing ok.... failing at the right time. :)

Did the Burn Intervals again this week (2nd time) and you girls were right: it got a lot easier. It's still a deadly workout, but this time I managed to get through it, stopping only once. Last week I stopped 5 or more times :)

I feel a lot thinner... but no scale or measurements yet. I'll leave that for the last day of the Burn Phase.

I think my legs are weaker than my arms, I'm still feeling it first on the legs. :) But the arms are getting quite a workout as well :)

This week I'm gonna try what you said: cardio first, CLX later. :) :carrot:

I just wanted to say HI!!! I just got my Chalean this weekend and will start on tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it!

LovelyComplex 01-31-2010 09:39 PM

Hi, Itz_Mo!

I just started ChaLEAN Extreme on January 22nd. It's tough, but fun. I'm really enjoying it so far.

Good luck tomorrow, and have fun! :)

MJKiddo 02-01-2010 01:59 AM

Well, I just did CLX today. I did it the Burn It Off & Recharge. I was kind of tired on the Recharge! How did that happen? :)

Oh well... I'm still building up my resistance. I'll do TJ tomorrow, since I'll do the Burn Circuit 1.

Today I was able to cut off a little over 350 calories from my diet and I burned 343 calories from the exercises. So I hit my daily mark of minus 500 calories per day so I can lose at least a pound per week. :) Since my week ends today, I burned over 6100 this week!! :D I'm so proud of myself!! :)

I'm starting tomorrow my 3rd week of the Burn Phase. Wow.... I'm almost through phase 1. Time really flies by. :)

P.S.: my legs are shaking!!! :)

Hello
how many calories does your Polar 6 said you burned during the workouts this far?

Cluciano 02-01-2010 02:38 PM

Does anyone know the code from Chalene to get a discount on the selech tech weights? Anyone????

MJKiddo 02-01-2010 06:50 PM

Cluciano, so far I burned a little over 3600 calories. And that is counting 2 weeks of Purn Phase and 3 Turbo Jam Cardios (30 min max).

I wish I had a Polar... my heart monitor is a Oregon Scientific. It's good, but it's not a polar.

On the circuit days I've burned roughly 300 calories per each workout so for.

The Interval DVD, I burned over 500 calories

The Burn It Off/Recharge, I burned something like 450 calories.....I believe I made note of it in my Blog as long as I remembered to put my monitor on.
