Just stopping in for a moment. These wedding plan has me not being able to take a breath! Whew.....once it's over, I'll be able to settle down some and get back into my old routines......that's the one thing I'm looking forward to the most.
wilma ~ it's hot here too! It's been over 100 for days and days. The A/C is getting a good workout....as a matter of fact, this was the 2nd month this summer that my electric bill was over $400!! boy, I can't wait for the winter this year.......
sue, joan fay and wilma ~thank you for your kind words. I used to WISH that I was a size 14 when I was a 20. Now that I am, I'm wishing I was smaller. The thing that makes it bad is that I actually got down to a size 10 3 yrs ago (when I first logged on to 3FC) and gained it back. I found a dress that I will keep the tags on, just in case. You never know if I'll find something else.
AGAIN! Sorry I have not kept up with my posting. We are so busy at work right now. Most of my jobs are right at 100 miles from home, we leave at 4am so traffic isn't bad, but in the afternoon even leaving at 2pm it can be HAZARDOUS to your health here on the southern California freeways! I am working in downtown Los Angeles and Palm Springs right now. We have been staying over a couple of nights a week also, in hotels, so I don't have my computer.
Angie and Amanda are with my ex-wife right now looking at wedding dresses. The kids "may" have a date in May....my daughter "kids" that is...the boy and his girl are still on for Nov.
My son and daughter have been going over BABY names Unfortunately for me, I am pretty sure GRANDkids are not in the picture. I do have a HOPE chest though! I am totally serious...I have started buying baby things for it...I figure if I get enough good stuff in in....well...one of the kids may have a need for it The names they have so far are only for boys....Carson for my son and future dil (USC football thing there) and Davis for my daughter and future sil (golf name thing there).
ZOE~ I hope your daughter's wedding is smashing!! I hope also that the Florida weather is "nice" to you! It is too bad about the seating for the divorced grandparents. I am so fortunate to have everyone on my side and ex's getting along for these last 17 years of divorce. In fact both of our sides still do holidays, birthdays and graduations together...and my kids are 25 and 23! Of course we don't do everything together, like regular birthdays but the biggys we do. My ex seems to be over for dinner at least once a week...and it is never uncomfortable. Now I will say that Angie does not get along with her ex...I do, although of course ~~ IF I KNOW WHAT IS GOOD FOR ME!! ~~ I don't always see eye to eye with him and back my wife He, however, gets along with her pretty well and doesn't cause trouble on purpose for the most part...he just has a way of getting on your nerves without trying!
REBA~ Sounds like the trip to Atlanta was quite exciting! Glad you made it back safe and sound.
AUNT SUE~ Hey dear I DID NOT send you that heat IT WAS HORRIBLE HERE! It has cooled down a little...like summer. Anfgie and I just got a new washer and dryer, I had them for over 12 years and they get used A LOT!! The timer on the washer doesn't work correctly, the guy came to fix it but didn't have the part, it came today Fed Ex so he will install it tomorrow...no cost of course since it is new...but what a hassle it has been for Angie. The guy has been out 3 times to fix it. Good luck on that second step! Still in my prayers for the surgery.
MISTI~ How is it going up there? Cooler for you too?
BIG HOUSE~
JOAN FAY~ Well at least it has cooled off a little here. I pray your nominations go well and you receive the pastor God intended for your church. I have never had that issue, I have been a member of my church since 1981 and have always had the same Pastor, he is quite the guy, although getting up there in years now so he has slowed down, but at 62 he still has some "pastor" years in him. We get a new vicar every year so that can be a challenge!
Well I need finish the chili I have going for the nephew and I...getting spoiled here with Angie home for the summer...she never minds cooking...humm...maybe a little...in the summer when there isn't school...but in 3 weeks I will have to sart helping out again!!
OOPS! WILMA!!! I am sooooo sorry I forgot you...for just a second anyway.
Our weather has gotten a little better. Great to hear the news on your son and his flu. I am glad his confidence is coming back! The reason I almost forgot to post was that I wanted to share, in my post to you, a concern my future son in law has. It seems that last friday he was experiencing some misses in his heart beat...then again on Saturday...he mentioned it to my daughter but said no big deal...probably the Starbucks coffee he had...well it happened again on Sunday so she made him go to the hospital. After testing him this week they seem to think that it could be a "minor" issue that can be treated with medication...the doctors are still testing him though. I am asking for prayers from ALL OF YOU in this matter, thanks! I will keep you informed as things happen. There is no history of heart trouble in his family, he is pretty healthy, a tennis coach, but he is a little over weight. He has been coaching in very hot weather too but there dioesn't seem to be an issue there.
Hi,
The weather is remaining liviable here in Calif. Hope it holds for a while.
My sweetheart and I are heading for Palm Springs tomorrow. We plan to leave bright and early and do what we need to do and them come home the same day. It's very very hot in Palm Springs.
I seem to be down a pound - don't know why but I will take it. Not quite to 151 but I'm taking off some I have gained. No treadmill lately. But I must get back on it or my weight just doesn't budge. I must have a very slow motor. Just too hot.
My sweetheart, a friend, and I delivered a check(a gift from the congregation) to a pastor and his wife who served as an interum at our church. Very sweet and devoted couple. They served for many years in Pakistan. He served at our church gratis - which was a real gift and blessing. They want to sell their home a move to a retirement community. We wish them well. Did my heart good.
Sunday I will prepare communion and have a pastor nominating meeting.
Don't know what else. That's probably enough.
Angie and I just came home from giving blood. I didn't know I could give on Saturdays, I wasn't able to do the double red cell as usual because of time restrictions so I just did the regular donation. We are going to my neice's baby shower today, my sister and bil came in from Illinois for it (their daughter), should be fun. A lot of errands to do today...wedding shower gifts for Angie's sister to buy for Angie to take to the party tomorrow ~WOW! a lot of partying going on here .
Amanda has the 26th of May for her wedding date...if all the plans come together that were made last night...we shall see.
JOAN FAY~ Enjoy your time in Palm Springs, I was there for work thursday and friday and it was going back next week. My daughter is going out to 29 Palms on Monday to test Marines for a few days for work.
Off to do chores....
HAVE A GREAT WEEK-END EVERYBODY! GET OUT AND WORSHIP TOO!!
Well, school is back in full swing around here...we started back last week. This will be the first full week for the kids. I work at one of the elementary schools here as an aid/paraprofessional (whatever you want to call it) with a special needs child. I worked with her last year too... I got promoted with her She is a sweetheart.
sounds like everyone is busy... lots of weddings and such being planned.
the temps are hot here too... it easily gets to 100 around here... not counting the heat index. Ah the joys of South Alabama!
I'm down 0.75 pound this week...not much... but every little bit counts!
ZOE- Relax, and enjoy the wedding, you'll get back to where ya want to be, and look great as well! Prayers family gets along thoughout the whole thing.
E.Z.- Prayers for future SIL that it is nothing serious. Neat idea with the hope chest always thinking! Since they have picked out names I think your probably a shoe in for grampa. The names they picked are neat, different, which is cool. My washer so far is running fine, better stay that way, not that old. Everything else replaced.
JOANFAY- Great Job! Loosing even 1 lb is positive, as you didn't gain, hope all went well with church and your visit to Palm Springs!
Reba- wow! School already, my niece leaves for college next Wed. can't believe its here already. Congrats on the loss, stay positive, you didn't gain, wishes all goes well with work!
I am off the rest of the week, going to camp to play for the week, my sis/bil and nieces/nephews, mom /dad, will be there, get in some pool time, spend some time with Kristie before she goes away, going to be about 10 hours away and not expected home till Oct. We are suppose to go see Pirates of the Carribean 2 loved the 1st one. well gotta run, go to seminar next Wed. then will be able to talk to surgeon. So everything on hold till then. Gotta run, wanted to touch base, God Bless!
I'm back to work after a long weekend. We spent the weekend at a cabin. It's on Lake of the Woods and it's a 20 minute boat ride to get to it. Remote but really cozy. We had a nice quiet quality time together - just DH and myself.
It's amazing how beautiful this country is and to see the sailboats on the water and how peaceful they are. Incredible!
I don't have a lot of time to post right now but just wanted to touch base with you.
Just stopping in for a few minutes before my boss gets in to say 'hello'. Glad to see everyone is doing so well and keeping so busy!! Seems like everyone is really on track with their weight loss journeys, me included. I have once again start, this time determined!, to do it and do it right! So far down 3 pounds, but that's just since Friday and of course you lose more the 1st week but it's a wonderful feeling to see the scales moving so quickly, hopefully I won't get discouraged when they slow down!! Anyway, I lost 45 pounds several years ago, went too low (never thought that was possible for me!), then had my DD and still carrying around the 'baby fat', just shouldn't be carrying it around for 14 years!!! I've cut out salt & all pop/soda/Coke whatever you call it in your area, anyway it's out and counting calories, that's how I did it before and I know it works for me so that's what I'm doing again. Hopefully it will cool down some soon so I can start walking again and get some exercise into my routine, although I did stop at the library yesterday and they have low impact aerobics 2x a week, met the teacher and some of the class and they are all very nice, funny and encouraging, so beginning next week (no classes this week due to teach out of town), I'm going to have my happy butt down there!!! I figure some movement is better than none, I've never done aerobics but there's always a first time!!! Gotta run, just wanted to check in and keeping you all in my prayers, - have a blessed day! Hugs & prayers - Margie
I started a message this morning and it got deleted somehow! Anyway, just thought I would drop in for a minute to say "HI". It's been a busy week for me and with us gone again this weekend it seems even busier. Only 3 weeks until my holidays. We don't have big plans but just a break from work is good too.
Margie: Great to see you again. It sounds like you're doing okay with the weight loss. I know what you mean about getting the rear in gear. I'm doing a bit more activity but not nearly enough.
Sue: I hope you're having a nice relaxing time. You deserve it!
Reba: I hope your first week back at school went well. I think it takes a special person to do the job you do. Great job on the weight loss too!
Gary: I'll forgive you for almost missing me. I don't always address everyone the way I should. Have you heard anymore about your almost SIL's heart problem? I am praying that it's nothing serious. He's way too young to be dealing with that. Our son was also checked out for heart problems because of his breating but so far no results have come back. Here in Canada we seem to wait forever for results. I guess if it had been serious the doc would have contacted him already.
I hope this finds everyone doing well today. Angie, Ron and I just got home from church. Going to go grocery shopping in a bit, then take in some Little League games on ESPN.
We went to my step-d's graduation/send off to college party at her dad's last night. Very nice, a ton of food ~ I may have had a beer too many , not sure...you'll have to ask Angie
Wedding plans for Ryan and Nicole are almost finalized, they had their engagement pictures taken at the beach on Friday. So far as I can see the only problem with their wedding in Nov. is that it is the same day USC plays Cal in a (should be) big game...not sure if my future daughter in law will allow me to have a little tv in my tuxedo pocket
Amanda and Zac have the reception place reserved, a restaurant on the water in San Diego and they will get married in a very nice area, that over looks the ocean, at the college they graduated from. She tried on wedding dresses last week at several places, I had thought that she had one picked out, Angie and my ex said it looked great on her, and Amanda liked it ~ however, last night, at the party she said that she thought it might be too princessE on her ~ wife and ex said NO...so Amanda wants me to go take a look at her in it...EVEN THOUGH I SAID I WANT NUTIN' TO DO WITH EITHER WEDDING PLANS CAUSE I ALWAYS FIND A WAY TO STATE MY OPINION! AND SOMETIMES THAT JUST PPO! AS AGIE ALWAYS SAYS ~"IT'S NOT WHAT YOU SAY ~ IT'S HOW YOU SAY IT!"
Still working way out of town a lot...and will be for awhile. Ryan and Nicole started back teaching high school on Thursday, they have kids starting tomorrow, Ron goes back to school for his junior year on Thursday, Angie's school goes back teaching on the 24th, except she will be in New York with her ex taking Lara to college move-in, so she will go in before to set up and get those days. Amanda continues her research with the Navy Seals and Marines, she starts grad school also in a couple of weeks so she will be really busy.
WILMA~ I really didn't forget you last time ~ just saved the best for last! As far as my future SIL Zac's heart issue ~ EVERYONE ~ he has been cleared to work teaching his tennis, no caffeine or alcohol, they are still waiting for results from testing which should come in on Monday. Thank all of you for your prayers. Praying for good tests results on your son. have you BIGplans for your holiday?
AUNT SUE~I am sure you had a great time camping. Did you like Pirates #2? Angie and I did ~~ OOOHHH Guess what? I just remembered, Lara works at Legoland but had the day off yesterday, the kid that did her shift came to her party last night, he was sooo excited! JOHNNY DEPP came with his kids and he got to seat them on the ride! Lara was so bummed that she didn't work!! She would have probably seated him...good for us though because if she did none of us would be able to live with her!! Here is hoping for a safe trip for your neice to Ohio.
MARGIE B~ Good to see you checking in every once in awhile. How is the tournament tennis going? Good luck in your exercise class and "starting" walking again. Oh by the way, did you see the results of Reggie Bush's first game with the Saints? guess he did pretty good!
REBA R~ I hope the weather is coling for you. It is very nice here in the San Diego area today. That is sooo about your special needs student...bet she just you too.
ZOE~ Busy with wedding plans?
Well, off to the store....gotta start getting pack your lunch stuff again!
Just got home from seeing my daughter try on the wedding dress she picked out. I am going to send the link and tell you how to get it if the service removes the website. The dress is prettier than the picture and Amanda looks absolutely GORGEOUS in it! How 'bout that gals, mom ~ dad ~ step-mom all agree on something ~ usually it's them against me!! Ha...kidding!!
Gary: How could you not all agree? That dress is gorgeous!! We were at a wedding on Saturday where the bride wore a dress that was similar to the one your daughter picked. She looked really lovely in it. Of course, she couldn't stop smiling and that made her all the more beautiful. Good choice! I bet there were a few tears shed, right?
We had a great time at the wedding and visiting with old friends. We came home early yesterday and DH had to leave for work in the evening. Bummer!! I did have a relaxing evening and now it's the beginning of a new week. 3 Weeks til my vacation. We're not doing anything big during our vacation. My sister is coming for a visit and we have another wedding to attend. Other than that we want to do some work to our house before it starts getting cold.
Its 2am! But I wanted to pop in and see what everyone's been up to. I am doing great, as usual. Long day at work, had meeting with nightshift, to discuss schedule changes and stuff, so need to wind down anyway.
E.Z.- I loves Pirates #2 and now am waiting for Pirates #3- "Where's my thump thump! Love johnny depp, the eye's on the Island was the coolest. What a beautiful dress, she will be a stunning bride. I can fully understand your daughter's disappointment, there is just something attractive about him, even as a scruffy, scraggly pirate, he's as cute as can be... He's just got it... Thanks for the prayers for Kristie yeah, she leaves tom. I am spending tom at lunch with her and having veggie wraps, then she leaves around 4pm, with her mom,dad and brother.
Wilma- glad you got a chance to relax a lake, and cabin, how nice, just saying it sounds relaxing.
Margie- Good luck with the aerobics sounds like your off to a good start.
Well! guess I hit the hay, getting tired. have an awesome day tom. God Bless!
HHHELLLOOOO!!! Is there an echo in here? It's so quiet!!
I must admit I've been checking in and not posting. I have not much going on. I've been having a great weekend so far. My brother from Alberta came for dinner last night. We barbequed teriyaki chicken and had fresh corn on the cob. YUM! Today it's go to church and then relax. 2 more weeks until our holidays!!
We're making some changes at work and I get to be a part of implementing those changes. It's a real challenge to come up with plans that will streamline the jobs we have to do. Please pray for me in that.
My family is doing great. DS and his wife are off celebrating their first anniversary today. I can't believe it's been a year already. they are really loving being married.
The other son is getting ready to start classes in a couple weeks and it'll be nice to see him in a routine again.
