  • Good Morning!
It's a chilly morning here. Snow is lightly falling. I'm not looking forward to winter at all but it is kind of pretty out there.

I had a really good week. Things are settling down at work and the stress level is lowering. Thank goodiness. I start training another person tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it. It'll be nice to be at full staff again. I plan to take a few days off here and there before Christmas so I can get thing ready.

I got lots accomplished yesterday. I cleaned out my pantry and linen closet as well as baked a few things. Once I got on a roll I didn't want to quit! Today we're heading out for a visit with my mom. Should be a good day!

Gary: Sounds like you've been busy! (or is that Angie?? that's busy) It's exciting seeing things going well with family members isn't it? Happy Birthday to Ron!!

Sue: It looks like it's just the 3 of us right now and I'm not very faithful. I'm also praying for your decision about the surgery. I know that God will lead you to the right one for you.

I've been doing terrible with my eating lately and have gained 2 lbs. I also feel terrible so it's back to the veggies and salads for me. Dh wants to buy a exercise bike for the winter so I'll use that too. I just need to motivate myself to get going.

I need to go get my salad ready for our dinner.

    Have a great week!
  • Here I am again!
I had a great day yesterday. I did eat pumpkin pie but I did hold back. I ate more salad than usual so things are improving. I plan to get in some exercise tonight. It was good to be with family again too. We celebrated a late Canadian Thanksgiving with my family. My sis says it's never too late to be thankful and she's right. When we think back on the year and see the many blessings God has given us, TODAY is Thanksgiving.

    Have a great day!

  • Good Morning!
Saturday morning. The coffee's brewing and I have no plans. There's lots I should be doing but we'll see what happens. We do have Care group tonight and my niece is coming for a visit but other than that I plan to relax.

DH and DS and I are planning to have a challenge this month. We're all sadly out of shape and we plan to begin getting back into shape. I think challenging us not to fail will be what we need. I'll keep you posted!

Sue: Good to see you're here. It's so quiet. I'm keeping you in my prayers. We got more than just a little snow the other day. We have 4 inches in our yard. I don't think it's going anywhere either. I guess I better resign myself to the fact that winter is here for us.

Gary: sounds like you're still busy with family festivities. I guess next up will be Thanksgiving! It's so neat to hear how things are going so well with your kids and that they plan on serving the Lord also. That's the best gift a parent can receive from their kids.

My DH is giving his testimony at a men's breakfast this a.m. and both my guys have gone to support him. It's good for him to share it. He's come through a lot and can give God the glory for saving him.

Well, gotta go. The coffee's ready and so am I!

    Have a super day!
  • I am new here
I am not only new to this forum, but I have posted on a forum. I do want to be active since I realize that I will need all the help I can get to stick with my diet.
I also want to meet some new friends who are also believers. Please advise how I do this 'forum thing'.
  • My gosh, I can't BELIEVE that I haven't posted since the end of August!! That wedding really DID do me in.

I have had my rebound from the wedding and now, I went to the DR on Wednesday after feeling awful for almost a week.....upper respiratory infection and STREP!

Gary ~ wow, your daughter looks wonderful in her dress....yep, we sure ARE lucky to have 2 beautiful daughters. I tried to read everything but I must have missed the wedding date.....when?

Hi to everyone. My eating plan is going great. 7 weeks, down 18 lbs. Only 21 to go.

  • Saturday Morning
    HI GALS~

    WOW! some activity

It is an incredible day here in southern California, perfect weather. My son is golfing with his buddies (part of the bachelor party day) I have already been out to look at a job...but Angie isn't feeling well , a little under the weather, she was going out to Palm Springs for our future DIL's family bridal shower with my ex, daughter and ex mil...looks like a no right now.

My son and his buddies are doing the bachelor party stuff today with golf then party stuff tonight. Nicole is having her bachelorette party tongiht after the shower.

The bridal shower Angie and my ex had last week was a big success

I have been working close to home this past week which was nice, was able to have my bil help me also. He was able to pick up a few $$ while he was out here for Jet's birth. Had a family get together for pizza on Monday with about 15 of us, a great little pizza place we have gone to for 25+ years.

Angie, my daugher and I went out for mexican food (2nd time in less than a week ~ different places) again. Since Angie wasn't feeling well she wanted some warm tortilla soup from one of our 4 favorite mexican places. Something must have been wrong with me as I brought food HOME! This never happens Can't figure it out, maybe I was too full of Coronas...NAH!

AUNT SUE~ FUNNY! not funny haha kidding! Angie is doing well in her training (I'm not) but it is for a 5K, only 3.2 miles. The computer is working out great so far, Angie fixes all my mistakes daily! Any approval come through yet? Still, as always, in my prayers for this and all matters. Lara says it has been really cold up there, she is learning how to dress for "weather" , since we don't have "weather" here . give those neices and nephew hugs

WILMA~ What is the "stakes" of the challenge? It has been a blessing having my future dil in church with us from time to time recently ~~ she brings our son!! ~~ Amanda and Zac have been with us quite a bit lately also, they attend his church from time to time too. I hope you have a mild winter, mild enough to help you stay on the '"weight loss" track!! Have an easy week at work traing those girls and guys!

GENTLEDUV47~ My only advice is to KEEP COMING BACK for encouragement from our group here.

ZOE~ Hey! we used to have a gal here named ZOE but she went missing a few times I know what you mean about wedding "lag" (as in Jet)...I am already thinkin' (Angie's at the thought of me thinking!) that I will experience it after having to wear a Tux to my son's wedding. My son's wedding is the 18th of November and my daughter's is in May. I hope you feel better Great job on your loss dear! That is a whole FREAKIN' bowling ball!

Well, if Angie feels better we are going to the street fair tomorrow, one of the biggest around, they will have over 100,000 people. It is twice a year, we try to go at least once every other year or more, we get there early, have breakfast then head out before the croowrd gets too big...problem though, after so many years others are too!

    WORSHIP OUR LORD!

  • Hi There!
Wilma- glad things are working out for you, prayers your challenge to each other works out... enjoy visiting with your niece mine will be home again for Thanksgiving... glad hubby has a chance to sahre his testimony that is important... thanks for keeping me in your prayers.
E.Z.- hey guy! yeah, she will see cold when snow arrives and the wind starts blowing in the city... its not been extreme yeah, -30's and 40's but winter is coming! prayers angie is feeling better soon, glad all wedding plans progressing nicely thanks for prayers. Not approved yet, but my understanding is (I went to a support group tonight, insurance requires you join before surgery ) from a lady I met has same insurance, same issue no medical issues per say. and she said 7 months from start to surgery. I hear it is about 6 weeks from psych apt till ya get your Dr's apt and surgery date unless there is problem with approval. so hopefully will get all the paperwork with schedule in early Dec. yeah...
Zoe- welcome back, great job! with the loss.
Hello to Gabby, Robin welcome...keep posting,
Gotta run getting late. have awesome day!
  • Hey everyone! I am new here and am excited to be here. I love reading the postings. Its nice to know that there is a Christian forum here. I was reading some posts and started thinking how I am learning to trust God in my life except in one area and thats my dieting/eating. You all are a inspiration!!
  • WELCOME CRITTLE ~ DAISYGIRL ~ GABBYGEE!

AUNT SUE ~ GLAD THINGS ARE WELL, CATCH UP LATER!

ANGIE AND I JUST GOT HOME FROM OUR TRAINING...HUNGRY NOW!
  • Good Morning!
It's great to see all the newbies. A BIG WELCOME TO YOU!! We look forward to getting to know you.

I am very grateful today that my homelife is calm and peaceful. I have a great husband and great kids. I guess I'm saying that especially today because work seems to be getting more hectic. I am just finishing training 2 new staff and now another one decides she wants to move on so I'll be starting again. I am finding it kind of stressful so I would really appreciate your prayers in this regard. I am so thankful I have God in my life because He does help me sort these things out. I know it'll all work out okay but I guess I spend too much time thinking about things.

Zoe: Wow! Great to see you back here again and thinner too! You're doing great!!

Gary: I would love to not have weather here too. Last night it rained and by the weekend it's supposed to be well below freezing. I choose to live here so I won't complain too much.

DH and I haven't even thought of stakes for our challenge. Wierd, right? I guess we both just need to get into better shape and are helping each other get there. He's only 52 and sometimes talks like someone 10 years older. He works very hard and is so tired on the weekend that working out is usually the last thing on his mind. So, he's doing little bits here and there. That'll work too,.

Sue: Continuing to keep you in my prayers.

    Have a super day!
  • Another Newbie Here
    Hi,

I am new to the website. I have been trying to lose weight for the last five years. I have a little success but then life gets in the way. For instance, last summer I was excercising 3-5 times a week and keeping track of my calories. Then we went on vacation. We went to Lake Koronis, MN. This was Bible camp for all ages. We adults ate like pigs. We had three regular meals a day, then every night after our seminar we would have a party. One night was chips and dip, then a barbecue, then a corn feed, then a chocalate party, then an anniversary party. By the end of the week we were so used to eating before bed we went to DQ for an ice cream cone. It was so hot that ya just didn't want to move when you were in a seminar. So exercise was non existent.

We got back from vacation. My trips to the gym went from 3-5 times per week to two times a week. Then When school started in the middle of August they went to zero. As of now, I am getting back into the groove of going to the gym but it is still hard to get up in the morning and actually do it.

The eating has been rather unconscious. I run a daycare and I eat with the kids. I keep their diets pretty balanced. So I am getting my fruits and vegetables. The problem I guess is eating when I am not hungry. I also have this habit of buying a bag of Brach's chocolates when I go grocery shopping. The grocery store is 23 miles away so I eat some of them on the way home.

Anyway, this is a new day. This is the day the Lord has been let us rejoice and be glad in it. Time to get back on track in more than one way.

    See ya
    Rachel
