PRAYER REQUEST ~ thanks for your prayers for my Uncle GARNET; I saw him yesterday and he is really doing well. He has gained back almost 30 lbs of the weight he lost. He will have his second operation next week to reverse the colostomy (or as he puts it: put all his plumbing back in place). He still has his great sense of humor for sure and that's so wonderful. I know he appreciates your prayers too (I told him we were all praying for him) ... thanks again!

Please pray for me. I am going through a severe depression which has caused bad anxiety and insomnia. It's been going on for over a month now and I need relief. I have faith that the strength I am finding to get me through each day comes only from God. I just need to call upon faithful prayer warriors to help me fight this battle. It is much appreciated.
TONI ~ prayers are on their way, hon ... have you ever tried PRAISE MEDITATIONS, and song? I find that so helpful when I need to lift my mood (we all have those moments when people/life gets us down).
I'm not sure what praise meditations are...could you tell me more about what you mean?
I've recently started listening to the local Christian radio station (KLOVE) again and have found that to be very uplifting, especially in the morning. I have always felt an amazing connection with God through music. It's my favorite way to praise Him.
I've walked away from my faith for too long (almost a year) and recently came back to Christ. I have to find a new church home and connect with other believers for that nurturing and support. I definitely have felt a peace since giving my life back to God. I'm so thankful that He is always there to welcome us back, with open arms and that His love and forgiveness is unconditional and eternal. How blessed are we?

TONI ~ Praise meditations are what you are already doing -- singing positive words/songs to lift up your spirit. It also includes reading and reciting and singing positive scriptures and praise scriptures (there are some great examples of these in the EMOTIONAL EATING THREAD in this forum).
I also made a list of POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS that I read now & then to reinforce positive thoughts about myself, ie ...
GOD LOVES ME
I am good & kind
GOD IS ON MY SIDE
I am talented & gifted
GOD CARES FOR ME
I am smart & creative
GOD HEARS MY PRAYERS
I am responsibile & reliable
GOD IS FOR ME
I am helpful & caring
GOD IS MY STRENGTH
I am healthy & well
GOD IS MY CONFIDENCE
and I can trust Him
I write praise songs that I sing over and over; ones with short, repetitive verses that are positive and joyous with words that are often taken from scripture. I also purchased a special hymnal book that has all my favorite hymns so that I can sing them whenever I want to.

CORRECTION & RE-REQUEST ~ I just found out today that my UNCLE GARNET won't have his reversal surgery until October 18th and will be in the hospital about 5 days at that time. There was a misunderstanding; he only went for a pre-op check up last week.
PRAYER REQUEST ~ for JIM RECOSKIE who also has a colostomy, is diabetic, and is in the early stages of Alzheimers. He has been having hallucinations, insomnia, stiff legs, and some pain (they think maybe gall stones) but the doctors here are not sure what's wrong with him. A correct diagnosis is needed to get proper treatment; I pray constantly that the LORD will give our doctors & nurses here insight & knowledge & a caring spirit to get to the bottom of things so this man and others don't suffer needlessly.
PRAYER REQUEST ~ my AUNT PAT has some kind of VERTIGO and a painful elbow (from overstrain as a hairdresser); she is getting physio-therapy now for that, but the doctors here don't seem to know of any treatments for the Vertigo. She has asked for prayers for relief of both.

PRAISE REPORT ~ well, PRAIZE GOD, from the very day we posted JIM's prayer request, he has been feeling better. It was gall stones, which had caused a build-up of amonia in his body causing all those symptoms, so they gave him some meds and a blood transfusion. The symptoms disappeared right away, PTL! His wife now needs guidance as the doctors want JIM to stay in the hospital (which has a long-term care wing) becuz of his on-going health needs, but she feels that he would stay more alert longer with family and friends around him at home.
PRAYER REQUEST ~ for GEORGE WINGER; had colon cancer surgery but will be having chemo treatments as there were two polyps they couldn't get out. Requested by his wife, Alverna.
PRAYER REQUEST ~ JULIE GOODWIN has/had a colostomy & vacuum bag becuz of ongoing infections in her bowels/intestines; and will have another surgery on or about November 22nd for this as well. Julie is a lovely Christian lady, and she is hoping that this last operation will end these problems for her. Friends have asked for prayer for her.
