I am in need of prayer, I have to make a decision that is impossible for me to make. My dog has become a biter and I am told to have him euthanized. This makes me sick just to think about. If I do it , will I ever be able to live with the guilt? If I don't do it and he bites someone again, will I be able to live with that guilt ? I need guidance that I will be able to do the right thing.

Bargoo I just looked on the internet about biting dogs and it said he might be in pain did you check with your vet? Good Luck!

Prayers for all requests.

Bargoo-

My dog every once and a while nips me when he's scared. I was told to give him up, too. Instead, I spend more time with him. Find out what he's afraid of. Work with him on those fears. Maybe even do an obedience class- a good dog trainer might be able to figure out the problem.

Prayers sent-

Dee

Bargoo, I am sorry about your dog. I would definitely check with a vet first. By the way, how on earth did you lose 90 lbs? Please share.

How did I lose 90 pounds ? One pound at a time. Like many of us I had lost , regained, lost, regained plus a few. I did this off and on for several years . A few years back I got to goal but got lazy, complacent or careless and gained about half of it back. I stayed that way for awhile, I wasn't happy about it but just didn't have the will to start over. I can't honestly tell you what gave me the motivation to start over, maybe it was the fear of being over 200 pounds again and adding a few pounds to that number. I have done many diets , some of them costing me a lot of money, I decided I would no longer pay someone to tell me what to eat and started counting calories and continue to do so today. These forums have been a great help. I learned how to maintain from 3FC, something I never knew before.

BARGOO I am so sorry I missed this about your dog. It reminded me of a dog I had years ago. It was a gift from an ex-girlfriend for Christmas when I was 19. He was a great dog but always around adults or older kids. When my son was born, 10 years later, my dog loved him....always laying by us...but when my son started walking in the walker he would go to the "puppy" scooting and screaming in joy...this scared my dog and one day he snapped at him....

that, so very sadly, was enough for me to give him up. My dad said he would take care of it, told me he found a home with no kids that would take him...I really think he put him down.....tears.....

I don't know your entire story on this but, as always, know my prayers are with you.

Thanks, Gary, for your kind encouragement and prayers. Yes, their are tears. My son has volunteered to take him, but I think I want to be with him.
