PRAYER REQUEST PLEASE ~ some friends dropped by recently and have a couple of prayer needs. Our friend PAT E. (lady) needs pray for her bladder -- that it will function properly, removing liquids from her body as it should. Her brother, JOHN, has polyps on his lungs; doctors wanted to do some risky surgical procedures, but John said "NO" since he is 75 years old and he feels grateful to have lived this long already. We respect his courageous choice, so are praying for comfort & peace ... THANKS!

PRAYER REQUEST PLEASE ~ My uncle, GARNET S., had emergency surgery for colon cancer yesterday; this is the second occurance but he came through the operation very well. Just talked to him on the phone from the hospital, and he is sounding in good spirits. He did the chemo last time and is willing to again, if needs be. He is so brave, not even wanting to take the pain meds they are offering becuz of the side effects. We pray for comfort & peace and a quick & full recovery; plus that he gets his own doctor real soon. We had 3 new doctors come last year and one is planning to leave already; and he still didn't get one yet. Harumph ... so our chief of surgery handled him this time, so hopefully that situation will change real soon ... THANKS for all your prayers for our family & friends ... and PTL -- that he came through so well!

We are getting a bit lazy here....

I do have a request today...

Yesterday my step-daughter (she is ok ) was working with her Americorp fire break team and collapsed due to heat exhaustion

She was basket-ed out of the forest by one helicopter then transported by another to a hospital. She was well taken care of and is resting at her base camp now.

I think it would be a good reminder to pray for all of our firefighters and teams of all people out there in the heat and brush risking their health and lives.

PTL for hearing & answering all our prayers ~ 1) Uncle Garnet is doing well and is back at home again 2) the kiddies have found a really nice house for themselves & have already moved in 3) my new(er) computer (PC) arrived this weekend and will try it out tonight 4) the high-speed internet will be hooked up July 11th

Thank you for the praayers for Trent, He is a nice 2 year old boy who was in the wrong place at the wrong time and his dad didn't see him and ran into him with the lawn tractor. He has severe injuries to his leg,liver small intestant and stomach. Its a mirical he made it this far and has been upgraded from critical to serious but still in intensive care. If he is stable enough at the end of the week he will be flown from albany med to boston childrens hospital to try and repair the damage and save his legg. So please continue to keep him in your prayers. And especially pray for is dad who is sick with guilt. Thanks

UPDATE ~ just wanted to share an update on my Uncle GARNET -- they had to give him a temporary colostomy, which they hope to reverse in about 3 months time. He's doing really well; every time one of us go over to his house to visit him, he isn't there. He was always on the go; glad that he is feeling well enuff to resume his past lifestyle.

We are praying that all my Uncle's insides & the stoma (the outside opening) heal up well as they should, so that they can go ahead and reverse the colostomy for him in about 2.5 months from now. THANKS for all your prayers for him ...

EDIT TO ADD ~ my aunt contacted me and said that Garnet was having to go to the hospital at night to get help with putting his colostomy bag back on; the site skin (stoma) was too tender and it wouldn't stay on. A clever nurse came up with the idea to cover the stoma area with MAALOX which dried the skin out and the bag has stayed on since then. PTL! Have been praying for wisdom, knowledge, and insight for our doctors, nurses, and caregivers here ... prayers are being heard & answered. My mother had a colostomy for the last 17 years of her life, so I know how challenging it can be, but she was such a courageous trouper, and used to always say, "The most important thing is that I am alive!" PRAISE GOD!

PRAYER REQUEST ~ for a friend's husband -- PAT B. (a man) has rectal cancer; he and his wife, Edith, have been making several trips to a large city further south for treatments for PAT. We ask for prayers for PAT's health and for peace & comfort for both of them too ... Edith has such a great attitude & she was such a true & faithful friend to my Uncle Tom when he was sick -- she went to the hospital every night & just sat with him and let him talk & talk & talk, which seemed to really help him a lot in those last days ... May GOD bless this kind lady and her husband ...

UPDATE : PAT is now staying at a place near Sudbury called Daffodil Lodge, awaiting chemo & radiation treatments for 7 weeks. After that, they will do surgery; and his specialist is quite confident that all will go well, however PAT will have to have a colostomy for life. So we are praying for strength, comfort, and peace for him during his treatments and for a successful surgery & recovery too ... thanks!

BAILEY ~ back in September of 2010 (posted on page 6 of this thread), we discussed about our mutual desires to own our own homes. How are things going? I wanted to share with you & others how our dream to own our home came about; a dream that we have had for over 20+ years ...

This past APRIL, the LORD gave me a promise that we were to buy our own home; at first, I thought -- how could we swing that? As housing prices were rising here so fast, it was crazy! My mind was being bombarded with thoughts day in and day out ... about finding a way to get our own home ... NOW! This was the right time. Why was "this most unlikely time" the right time? As with Gideon & the 300 men who took a city; by doing this now, GOD proves that it was HIM that brought this to pass, and no-one else ... that this was His doing, HIS MIRACLE, and not that of man.

Through a series (but a few really) of meetings with our bank, we were offered a mortgage at very low rate & monthly payment, plus some other awesome benefits -- all while inquiring about something else. What I learned most through all of this was ... DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK!!! Becuz ... WITH GOD, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE! (Mark 10:27)

Don't be afraid to ask GOD for your dreams; don't be afraid to ask your bank for help to make those dreams come true; and don't be afraid to take the steps needed to make those dreams come true! But, most of all ... DON'T LISTEN TO NEGATIVE PEOPLE (who are often harboring jealousy in their hearts). Ignore the neggies, and keep on seeking ...

We got approval of the mortgage & other benefits, moving expenses, and found the house THE LORD CHOSE -- in only ONE WEEK! Now, isn't that awesome? This was no less than a MIRACLE for us ... for we are not rich people. We are just an average couple, with an average income.

First, I asked GOD to choose the right house for us. Then I wrote a double list of what our needs & wants were. Needs on one side and wants on another; and read them OUT LOUD to GOD (at least 3 times). Then I looked up scriptures about ensigns & fleeces (ie the story of Gideon); and put a fleece up to GOD: asking that HE narrow the choice down as an ensign so that we would know what house HE wanted us to buy.

Well, our dear Abba Father is so faithful when we ask for HIS WILL ... there was only ONE house that fit all our requirements -- our Price, our Needs, and yes, even our Desires ... more than we even knew at the time.

I received 3 sets of scriptures about this promise that I read almost daily :

PSALM 37:3-5 ~ TRUST in the LORD, and do good; so that you will dwell in the land and be fed. Delight yourself in the LORD, and HE will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way unto the LORD; TRUST also in Him, and HE will bring it to pass.

ZEPHANIAH 3:14-20 ~ Sing, Oh daughter of Zion! shout! Be glad and rejouice with all your heart, Oh daughter of Jerusalem. The LORD has taken away all thy judgements; and HE has cast out thine enemy ... even the LORD is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more. Fear thou not ... and let not thy hands be slack. The LORD thy GOD, in the midst of thee is mighty; He will save (you). He will rejoice over you with Joy; He will rest in HIS love, HE will Joy over thee with singing. I will gather them that are sorrowful ... to whom the reproach was a burden. I will undo all that afflicts thee; and I will save her that halteth, and gather her that was driven out. I will bring you again, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD. (condensed)

HAGGAI 2:4-9 ~ Yet now be strong (3 times); all you people of the land, saith the LORD, and work, for I am with you , saith the LORD OF HOSTS. According to the word that I convented with you ... so my spirit remaineth among you: FEAR THOU NOT! ... I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of Hosts. All the silver is mine and the gold is mine, saith the Lord of Hosts. The glory of this latter house shall be greater than the former house, saith the Lord of Hosts. (I had mentioned that in my prayer) ... and in this house, will I give you peace, saith the Lord of Hosts (also in my prayer). (condensed)

DH still says that he can hardly believe this dream has come true for us; and I keep reminding him that GOD IS OUR INHERITANCE -- the bible says so. He is our inheritance, but HE can & will use the most unlikely people & circumstances (both good & bad) to fulfill your dreams, if you let him. HE always works through others.

You just need a little FAITH (ie a mustard seed). What is faith? Faith is a combination of CHOOSING TO BELIEVE and TRUSTING GOD to make it happen ... it's that simple. FAITH is not about what you do, or think, or feel ... it's CHOOSING to believe GOD's promises, in spite of the circumstances around you ... good things do come to those who wait!

And you are right, BAILEY ... Faith isn't believing HE can; it is believing HE WILL ...

Yes, OUR GOD IS AN AWESOME, AMAZING, AND ASTOUNDING GOD!!! PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME!!! For HE alone is worthy. HE alone is faithful & true! HE alone deserves our PRAISE, and HONOR, and THANKS, and all of the GLORY too!!!

PBMAMA ~ ^Prayers^ going up for PBMama's left ankle; she had a fall going down some stairs (hit a crack in the floor at the bottom). Her leg is really badly swollen; and they are watching for any signs of a fracture. So, we're praying for relief from pain, and for a quick & full recovery.


UPDATE ON REQUEST ~ my Uncle GARNET's test results came back; and there are some cancer cells in his lymph glands, so he will have to take chemo after all. I know he was hoping he wouldn't have to, but we'll pray it won't be so hard on him this time. THANKS ...
