Smile Christian Encouragers ~ April

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You've found a great place to come and vent, share or ask for prayer support. This is a great group who will be very encouraging, caring and loving....anyone is welcome to join!

A Servent's Prayer

Jesus, My Jesus....How marveleous your ways....
Far more splendid than my mind can envision.
What an honor to be chosen by you.
A lowly child I am, but empowered by the Holy Spirit to fulfill the great hope to which you have called me.
I give myself totally to you, Lord.
Take my imperfect heart and make it perfect.
Peel away the hardness.
Close the doors I have opened to the temptations of this world.
Gently remove the roots of painful memories, sins, doubts and fears.
Discard anything that separates me from you.
Lord, fill the emptiness with the light of your love that I might be a beacon calling the lost back to you.

To love as you love.....
To serve as you serve.....
To forgive as you forgive.....
Always mindful of my nothingness while doing great and marvelous things in your name and for your glory.
This I pray, Jesus, in YOUR name.
Amen

Gary, hope it is OK that I started the new thread. I know you are so busy with work right now.

Hope everyone is having a GREAT day! I also hope no one got "fooled" today

I love that April 1st usually falls during spring break - it makes the day go so much better when I'm not surrounded by 500+ junior high students

I caught snowflakes on my tongue coming home from work. I figured that I might as well joke about the weather - it beats the alternative!

And- it has been a blessing to be able to walk this week. With everyone gone, I don't need to drive to the schools.

Prayers are continuing for all! I hope that each of you has a blessed day! It is hard to believe that Palm Sunday is coming up! How Lent has flown!

HAPPY APRIL FOOL's DAY EVERYONE ~ Well, I think MOTHER NATURE is the one fooling all of us today; it is supposed to be spring, but we woke up to cold temps, rain, sleet, and I shant say it *****, and back to sleet and rain tonight. She can't make up her mind, I think!

LAURIE ~ thanks for helping GARY out and starting the April thread; I knew that he would appreciate the kind gesture. I start the Physical Challenges thread, but I am glad that Meowee and others help me keep it up and running too.

I haven't seen the last of March's posts yet, but just wanted to drop by and say hello ... had a good day; stayed on plan; got some exercise walking around here today; and doing laundry and other housechores today. If it's nicer tomorrow and I feel up to it, we may go uptown for pickups.

Pretty quiet here; we're all just hoping all this rain will melt some of the snow here. We can see some of our laneway now, so that's a good sign. Anyways, take good care and have a great week all ... ROSEBUD

Hi all - a cold "spring" day here with more snow in the forecast My poor crocus' are gonna have to endure a bit longer.

I'm glad this week is winding down - it has been a long one! At least I was able to walk to work every day since I didn't need my car to visit the buildings It felt good to walk outside again.

Prayers are continuing for everyone!
Blessings!

Hi Gals ~ I hope you all get spring weather soon!

I just finished my last day of overtime for a while!

I should be back in the mix soon as I start a job 15 minutes from me on Monday and might even get a week off in a week before this one really takes off....hoping to be off the week after Easter Sunday since it is Angie's break.

Be back soon....

WHERE IS EVERYONE?

Hello everyone,
So glad to be here. I was not around to much yesterday, after hearing that a worm was to be released that would hurt MSN programs, so I shut the computer for the day at least the evening part. Seems to be no damage done.

I went to WI this evening, and Thank You Lord, no release, but there was no gain either. I was a little worried becasue I had not been good Fri., Sat., or Sunday. Did not get back on track until Mon., so I am thankful for staying the same.

Rosebud, our weather is crazy here, up and down, up and down. Not to sure just what to do. I pray your weather will break soon.

Laurie, glad you got the party started so we would not have to miss a beat. Glad you are getting to walk to work and enjoy your beautiful days.

Courtney, happy you got that April Fooler back. Good for you. I plum forget it was April's Day. I must be getting old.

Hooray Gary, now you can slow down and smell the coffee (or maybe not), smell the flowers. I recieved my first Mid-weel boost today. Thank you, I do enjoy them very much.

To everyone whom is not here, I am thinking of you and sending up prayers.

Later gators,
Aggie

Well...i've missed a few days. It's been raining raining raining here in GA. We are not in a drought anymore! And out biggest lake concern is only 10ft down now!

I saw my brother Tuesday...he cried the whole time I was there. He had not gotten a court date (after 15 days of sitting there) and felt 'hopeless'. His baby girl's 4th bday is the 17th and he is bummed that he may not be out for her birthday. I can't stand to see him cry.

Mom is SO ready to retire...but her spirits have been better since Tuesday. We prayed for her.

I'm in the midst of writing a paper on stem cell research...egads.

I'm glad you are all doing well!! OOO I have a question...any reason why in the evenings after the gym, I have a TREMENDOUS headache? My heart rate is getting up between 176-184 on the elliptical for 30 mins...i know that's kinda high...just wondering...

I hope you all have a great week! We are blooming like crazy here...it may be the pollen is killing my head, but with all the rain that is kinda doubtful.

peace! and pray for Dennis!

Default Good Morning!

This week is just flying by. I can't believe it's Friday already. Things are going really well at work. I am still training my replacement and am beginning to learn my new job. I think it'll be challenging but I think I'm going to love it.

DH is finally finished driving the ice roads up north and I'm so happy to have him home again.

Rayne: I'm still praying for your brother. I don't have an answer for your headache issue but I'd certainly get it looked at.

Aggie: No gain is a good thing! At least you got yourself back on track and are eating right again.

Gary: Look forward to seeing more of you here. It's nice to be so close to home once you've been away for so long. I know exactly how that feels!

Laurie: I look forward to being able to walk on clear sidewalks. We got a big dump of snow again on Wednesday.

Rosebud: I too am looking forward to NO SNOW. It feels like this year spring will never come. Now there's also the threat of flooding to the south of us. Scary for them to have to deal with that again.

Hello to everyone else! Have a great day!

Gary - more snow today Please, please send me some warmth and sunshine! It is APRIL after all!

Aggie - good news on the weigh in! Anything that isn't a gain is success in my book!

Bev - not sure on the headache, but here are a couple things to try.
Make sure you hydrate well before you work out
Warm up slowly, bringing your heart rate up gradually. Also cool down the same way.
Eat some protein before you work out (within 30 minutes if possible).
Try eating some protein after as well if you still have problems.

Is it only on the elliptical you have problems? Do other cardio workouts have the same problems?

If it persists, contact your doctor - there may be other issues working here.

Wilma - I agree - this winter seems like it has been twice as long as other years. More snow here again today - While it is pretty - ENOUGH ALREADY!

I gotta fly - I took the day off to work around the house. De-cluttering the exercise room upstairs in on the agenda. LOTS of boxes and stored stuff up there. Mostly belonging to the kids (why do parents feel the need to provide free storage for their children's stuff? - that is rhetorical - I know the answer)

Hope you all have a fantastic Friday!

Blessings!
Prayers continuing for all!

Laurie

Hi everyone,
Glad to see everyone is in good spirits. That's for the congrats on staying the same, it was truly a blessing. I am happy with it.

Bev, well you know the prayers are continuous for you and yours. I am going to ask my nephew a few questions about your headache problem, he's a doc. He may have a few suggestions, but I agree with all Laurie said, she is so smart.

Everyone have a great day, going out for awhile. WOoooha.

Aw, ags - thanks! I think it is more that I am just "old" and have a lot of life experience
OK, DH being in the medical profession for 30+ years doesn't hurt either!

Hope you are having a good weekend!

I am in a cleaning frenzy this weekend. I'm putting that extra day off to good use!

I de-cluttered - not one but THREE rooms yesterday. 18 bags/boxes of "stuff" is gone (or going shortly).

Today's goal is getting the carpets shampooed. DH is working and DS2 is visiting friends. So the only traffic I have to worry about is the cat and the dog. And- since there is still snow on the ground, they won't even be tracking dirt Thankfully, I have a carpet steamer so the process isn't terribly cumbersome.

Now, if I could just find the energy and motivation to get the windows done (I HATE doing windows).

Prayers continuing for each of you - hope your day is blessed and that you have a GREAT Palm Sunday tomorrow! I'm looking forward to celebrating Holy Week (even though I have several media presentations to prepare).

Enjoy your day all!

Laurie

HI FOLKS ~ just dropping by to let you know that we are in the midst of a humongous 'SNOWSTORM' ... it started last evening around 7 pm and pounded us all night with southbound winds. It is still here this morning but is slowing down a bit. We woke up to a huge flock of SNOWBIRDS (and they are still here right now); easily 200 and more, plus a large flock of finches too (about 100+), all vying for the same food. DH went out and spread around about a gallon of mix and they have eaten most of that up already. This group of SNOWBIRDS are likely females on their way up north for the spring breeding season; they are so pretty. We are in BIRDIE-HEAVEN!!!

Well, since our car is almost buried, we aren't going anywhere soon. Will just stay home and finish off some sorting of boxes from one of our sheds. Turns out the melting last week got some boxes on the floor wet and we have stuff hanging around drying. We were wise and covered everything with thick plastic tarps, but since it's our first spring here, we didn't think about having a half-frozen lake in the bottom of the shed.

But, we managed to save almost everything. Oh well, life is an adventure isn't it? Never a dull moment here ... Hope you all are having much better weather than we are. Take good care ... ROSEBUD ^^PRAYERS^^continue for you and yours ...

Thumbs up Great News ...

UPDATE ON UNCLE TOM ~ I posted a detailed update and prayer request for my Uncle Tom in the PRAYER WARRIORS THREAD tonight. My uncle Tom just finished his second round of chemo in March; and they just returned home this afternoon from seeing his specialist.

PTL, all the nodes and bumps that were on his lungs are now gone! His health continues to improve more and more each day; and he is stronger than we've seen him in years. The tests results continue to get better and better as well. His doctor wants him to take a break for May & June, and then have a third round of chemo in July & August to make sure all cancer cells are completely gone this time; and I think that's a smart idea.

We serve an AWESOME GOD, who hears and answers prayers. We are now praying that all scar tissue will also heal up and go away too. Thanks so much for your faithfulness and continued prayers. My Aunt says that they feel like doing a praise dance for all this positive news ... and we say, Amen to that!!!

PS ~ oh yah, and the snow has stopped -- yeah!!!
