I planned for an easier week this week, to leave more time for focus on food. So, 2 sessions of some activity, and a pilates class. Happily, the excesses of last week have left me completely dedicated to eating light, and only when hungry (interesting concept ). I'm not sure what triggered all of that mess, but I'm back on course. Still, I checked myself out in the big mirror in our lobby, good light, etc., and I do look smaller. And the scale is back to baseline.
You know novangel, I'll do that. I took some pictures at my highest but they were so horrible that I deleted them. But I think I can stomach it now. (How's that for positive self-talk!)
Thank you
Hey guys!
So tomorrow they are opening a Sonic Burger right down the road from where I live. Now, I could care less about a cheeseburger, my weakness is their Slushies! Im afraid I won't be able to resist them and screw over my progress. I've already looked up the nutrition facts for them and they are chocked full of calories, and sugar, and sadly they don't offer any low cal options :le sad:
Step away from the SONIC....think of how much all of that sugar will damage your teeth, blood sugar levels, pancreas, skin, energy level..... What you'll see on the scale is only the tip of the iceberg!
Sad for them they don't offer healthy options...they won't get a dime from me
I got in Body Pump on Sunday, about 30 minutes of aerobics yesterday. Today I'm planning for strength work of some kind depending on my energy, and probably a little bit of easy step aerobics for a warm up.
I was stressing a lot last night and almost caved and got a papa johns pizza, but I decided I really wanted to wake up this morning knowing I stuck to my plan. Glad I did cause I saw 157.8! It may be a fluke because I had to weigh later than usual, but still a good sign. Can't wait to see 155 again...
Plexi, diet soda doesn't offer any nutritional value and is best to leave it alone. Especially on a weight loss plan. About Sonic...half the battle is knowing the nutritional info. I used to love the chicken pot pies from Boston Market and KFC, but can't eat them now knowing the high caloric count and high fat content. Knowing that stops me everytime I think I want to stop in for one.
Gabi, one of the contest rules on that challenge I wrote about was to take pics. I am flabbergasted looking at them. I think that was the wake up call I needed.
bunneh, gotta keep the urge monster at bay...you can do it!
So I twitched my back over the weekend. I took a muscle relaxer last night and stayed home to rest up. I've read that you should keep moving, but I was absolutely miserable yesterday at work. After resting today I feel much better. I've not exercised as I had planned, but I am keeping with my nutrition plan. Guys, at the start I was 204 and now at 197! I am super excited about that! My calories are at 1600, but I've had less. I changed my macros from 40/30/30 to 40/40/20 which is a challenge to eat that much healthy carbs.
See Plexi, every time you think of the 'S-' word, think of losing you pearly whites!
Hi Bunneh good save yesterday !
Hi Philly- Good Job!
I tried out my slow cooker yesterday: turkey, mushrooms, broth, lentils. Came out really nice. Today I'm using the oven: chicken breast over black beans and mixed peppers, topped with tomato sauce. Smells great. My cooking is really not bad. Time to quit the take-out places....

Reason: fix spelling
Hi everyone....I'd like to join you, if I may. Exercise is not my strength. I'd do anything to not have to exercise, but I must lose more weight and it's not going to come off while sitting at the computer all day!
I'm single (again), almost 60, with two grown daughters and 8 grandchildren (counting the foster-grands). I'm 4' 10.5" tall & currently weigh around 123-125 (haven't checked lately). I started on an exercise & weight loss program shortly after the new year and lost a few inches plus 9 lbs. but then stalled for too many weeks so I gave up.
I want to start a new/different food plan later this week or next and today I ordered a couple of new DVD's to exercise with. I do enjoy rebounding & walking, so will make myself do that until the new DVD's arrive.
I'm glad to see this thread is very active--I'll need to set up residency here in order to "make" myself exercise aka motivation. After 8 hours at work, I usually just sit down in my comfy chair & eat.

Exhale, both meals sound really good! Care to share recipes?
for me it has been my snacks. I love cookies, chips and such, but in the last week I've not had any. It seems even the substitute snacks I put in place of the higher fat stuff is still not good
