Thanks everyone, luckily I'm already back up and running! It's mostly painful when I'm wearing pants (material rubbing up against my knee, which is essentially a big open wound), so daily activities are more painful than running. I got in 6.75 miles today pretty much cringing everytime I thought about my fall lol.

MBN - I really liked your post! My fascination with the ability of the human body to run is what got me really into it. Do you find running with other people helps?

Is anyone else pumped about Boston this weekend? I've been following the coverage for a few weeks and I'm really excited to see who wins. I'm highly doubting Kara Goucher will win, and I'm saying Ryan Hall won't either (mostly because there's something I don't quite like about him), but I think he'll be in the top 3. My dad will be there running, I'd go watch if it wasn't for exams.

sm, eeks! Falling is my big fear too.

3 miles today!

BTW, my daughter is a huge fan of Kara Goucher and Paula Radcliffe.....and she has a poster of Ryan Hall. I love this culture of running! Tell your dad good luck, sm!

3 miles running today. Really happy as I haven't been able to run for 2 months after my big fall on the ski slopes so while it was slow, at least I could do it.

I find that running with other people definitely helps! Especially for those really long runs -- having other people to chat with really makes the miles fly by. By the time we've debriefed on our weeks - discussed the husband and kids, household projects, work stresses, new low cal recipes, what was on TV, weekend plans -- heck, that's good for at least 7-8 miles right there! Plus, knowing that others are there waiting for me gets my behind out the door on some days that I'd really rather sleep in. We encourage each other and celebrate accomplishments. I do a lot of running alone too, but having a small running group for the long runs makes it a whole lot easier to get through, IMO.

3.5 for me. I must have pulled something when I fell because I'm in PAIN. Even when I walk. It feels like it might be my hamstring. I feel like I'm having terrible luck with this whole running thing... I'll be taking a few days off. I'm starting to panic about my HM coming up and even more so about the full in September. At this point I'm gonna have to settle with the goal of finishing.

Finishing is good. Truly!!

3 miles today, probably a little more cause I deviated my path to avoid a scary looking person in an arroyo. Probably 3.4
