SM177: Sometimes your watch can be behind, have you compared what the garmin software vs motion based give you as a result. I'd be curious to know if there is a difference. I've read on another board that It might also be that motion based counts elevation as part of the distance travelled. I just use the distance on my watch.
+3.5 tonight - first time on the newly assembled treadmill. I have to say I prefer running outdoors to the treadmill, but it was nice to just walk out to the garage, run, walk back into the house! Plus, it is crazy freaking cold outside! 38 degrees, wind feels like 32... snowed off and on all day... in April... in Georgia...
Treadmill did make me a little dizzy - I think it was because I just ate.... note to self for next time...
kitty - I'm glad I wasn't the only one who snickered at 'fartlek'.
I'm planning to run after work, pollen is killing me so might be treadmill. I want it to be outside though, as it is the only day I have this week to get out there, so we'll see...
ETA - well, I researched the 'fartlek' because I had no idea what it was. I guess most of my runs qualify as those, rather than intervals, because I don't do set distances or recovery times? I run steady for the first mile or so, then alternate between running all out (to landmarks, or as long as I possibly can), jogging and some walking until I hit my total mileage goal.

12.38 miles for me. I did the first 6 with my dad. He said he would go slow, but the slowest he'd go was around an 8:20 pace, so I was pooooped from miles 6-12. For shorter distances I'd like to go with him, I run faster with him without really noticing it.
You all are sooooooo juvenile!! I actually crack up every time I say it---it sounds like "fart-lick" when I pronounce it---so I probably mispronounce it. Be proud! Wear tiny shorts and run your fartleks!
How fun to run with your dad, sm. I love running with my DD. DS #1 (14 yrs old) wants to start running so we are going to the track this weekend to run some laps.
