So I have 908 miles to go this year-- If I can get to the 200 mile mark by may 1st it'll make this goal seriously attainable, so I need to get cracking!!!
Jackie - my job is bad with the food temptation, there's constantly food everywhere. I think about everyone gains weight when they start despite being on our feet all day. I'm just hoping standing all day won't put too much stress on my feet on top of the marathon training. I hate running when all I can think about is it ending. I'm downloading "The Spirit of the Marathon" to get myself in a running mood!
Jackie I think you mentioned on another thread that you used Motion Based to analyze your garmin stuff. It gives me a higher mileage than my watch, do you know why this is?
3 with the mutts after work on Friday....3 with Angie and the dogs at the duck pond today...a 5K tomorrow....closer to home with work for awhile....should up my miles soon.
sm--I did a similar sprint-focused month in January and finished the month running 3.5 miles in 30 minutes---which was really good for me. Then I slipped back into steady state running for awhile and am back to 10:15-10:30 minute miles. So I'm focusing on sprints, hills, & fartleks this month, for speed but to also move some body fat OFF. Ideally, a couple runs each week would be some kind of speed work, IMHO.
3 miles today with DD, who was kind enough to stay with her old lady!
I decided to do intervals and set up my garmin to do it. So i did 5x 800m around a 7:20 pace. Fun stuff! Midwife, I'm gonna stick to doing this at least once a week and I'm gonna do some hills later in the week. Are you sore after hill workout day?
