June 1st and I start with a weight gain and FBG up because I'm eating crackers to settle stomach. Hiatal hernia is acting up and I'm having indigestion due to the Ciprofloxacin. I would take Pepcid but read online not to take anything like that with it. Pharmacist told DH that I'm not to take iron or magnesium with it so have to wait 4 hrs before taking them. I read about taking Cipro online and he didn't tell DH that I'm not supposed to eat or drink dairy with it either. I eat a lot of cheese on my woe. Any way weight is up to 173.2 and FBG 116. Don't know what bp is. I'll get the new pb machine today.
Babysister called last night and her DH is in the hospital. He had emergency surgery yesterday morning to remove a clot from his leg. He is on blood thinners now and will be fine. She has a lot of kids, grandkids etc so she has her sons with her. So that is good. Haven't heard from DS yet today. I told she could call me when she feel like it. She is resting. Her DD is here from Michigan to see her. She didn't know if her son was coming today or not. So she has support system too.
This June 1st and we are going to have temps in 90s all week. Just hope we don't get 3 digits until August.

Yesterday weight was up to 178.6 and today its down to 177.6.
Forgot to check blood sugar.
We went to Rodneys yesterday for the first time in a while. We had stuffed pork chop and it had something that didnt set well with me. Maybe something in the stuffing or the gravy. I felt sick all evening and had potty issues. DH was fine.
He did ok at thr casino,no jackpot but he btought $500 home again.
I hope your DS improves.
I took Ciprofloxin after my bowel surgery and I am allergic to it. My old doctor says Im not but I read online about it. Afew days after starting it I got pains in my shoulders that ended up being tendonitis all over, wrists, Elbows, It was horrible. I finisged taking it because it was just a few more days. The package insert said to stop taking it and contact the doctor. But I wanted the infection gone. I had the tendonitis for 2 years then it finally went away. Online it says that the tendonitis, can last for life.

Carol Sue I'm sorry you got sick after going to Rodney's. I hate it when that happens to me.
I had that pain in my arm and shoulder yesterday. However, like you I want the UTI gone and I only have today and tomorrow and I will be finished with the pills. So I am taking them. However, I am starting back on my low carb today. I told DS that I'm getting back OP come **** or high water.
Someone has finally gotten smart at the hospital because they put her on a low carb diet. She is also on fluid restriction. I talked to her last night and she sounded good. She has told me that I am carrying her through this. I told her I know what she is going through and how she feels and reminded her that she refused to let me give up and I'm doing the same for her.
I got my new bp machine and my bp is not good and not low. The top number runs between 140 and 160 and lower number between 70 and 88. However, I know oncologist told me not to stop any of the carvedilol because my cancer treatment causes the bp to go up. In fact, when I go for treatments and my bp is up, they let me sit for a while to relax so it will come back down before I get infusion. So this higher numbers this week could be from the infusion last Friday and may go down some this next week.
FBG was 115 this morning. DH has gotten his FBG down around 100. I'm thankful he is doing great. Thank God my weight stayed the same as yesterday so I'm starting out at 173.2. I think I need a new scale but DH doesn't want me to buy one. I don't think it is accurate. At oncology I had lost almost 6 lbs in 3 weeks, but my weight was 180. At home, my scale shows I gained 3 lbs. I think that is a big difference. I'm thinking about just weighing at oncology every 3 weeks instead weighing at home.
I talked to BS and her DH is already home. They thought they wouldn't come home until tomorrow so they were surprised when they sent him home. He is a veteran and I guess VA does things differently. I would have thought he would be on crutches to keep weight off that leg after surgery, but he is on a walker. I know the hospital doctor told DS that she would heal better if she was home in her own atmosphere. So maybe that is how they do things now.

I posted today but it didnt take.
Trish, please google "_Tendon pain from Ciprofloxin."
We once hadca wrist blood pressure meter but were not satisfied. Do your stores hhave a kiosk where you can check blood pressure? Like in Walmart near the pharmacy? You can compare your meter to their reading.
Thank God today is the last day taking this Ciprofloxacin. My weight just seems to be going up with me on this stuff. Weight today was 175. I am almost up with you when it comes to weight. Another thing is that my FBG is 114.
Carol Sue the new bp machine is working very well. My bp is now running about what it does at the doctor's office and the nurse always says it is good and my machine says it is normal it was 130 something over 55. So it is nice to have one that works.
You know I haven't seen one of those bp machines at our Walmart in a long time. I think Walgreens has them but there isn't one close to us and I don't think our local store has it either.
I haven't made meat loaf in years. DH bought some grassfed ground beef and I have been thinking about making one. I like a lot of veggies in mine, but he doesn't. I don't care anymore what is in it. I think I could take some Lipton's onion soup mix and add it for flavor and we could have one. I ate so much ground beef growing up and I have to have it either as a CB or some sort of flavor added. When growing ground was so cheap that we ate ground beef and green beans through the school year while my parents saved money for a summer vacation because Daddy loved to travel.
Didn't talk to DS, but I did hear from her and said she was good. I need to check on BS and her DH.
I will look up that info about the tendons and Cipro.

Yesterday my right foot was all puffy. its weird that its only the right foot that gets puffy. I took a Lasix and was peeing all evening and overnight. So this morning the scale reads 175.0. So we are the same, Trish, but mine is forced, not natural.. But my foot looks normal today. I hope to sit outside again today and thats when I noticed the puffy foot. We are going to the casino today so I dont want to take a Lasix. The Lasix gives me a 2 lb. loss which is not true weight, but I feel much better without that fluid weight.
Carol Sue Watch having the swelling in your foot or legs. I don't want to alarm you but that could lead to clots especially in your legs. I hope it was a one time thing. Maybe you could take the Lasix on days you don't go to the casino. I take one a day with or after dinner since we eat around 3ish. This way I have time to stop peeing before bedtime so I don't pee all night. The other 3 I take during the week, I take 3 mornings that I'm not going any where.
Weight this morning was down to 174.4 and bp was normal 123/53, but my FBG was 119. I'm not happy about the FBG, but hope that was caused by the Ciprofloxacin I tool. Thank God I'm through with that medicine and hopefully my FBG will go back to my normal.
I watched Dr. Li again yesterday and he was telling foods to eat that stave cancer cells. I have a list of veggie and fruits to eat. These are foods to eat along with immunotherapy. He stressed these are to be eaten along with your treatment NOT in place of. I guess I'm not going to be doing a keto type low carb. Some of his recommendations are similar to Dr. Amy's. He said most oncologists weren't trained in nutrition which we know from dealing with diabetes. However, he said that the new oncologists coming out of school are being taught how to use diet along with cancer treatment. So he said don't be afraid to have younger doctor. Carol Sue your new goodlooking younger doctor just might be a blessing for you.
Have a good casino day. Hope everybody has a good day.
This is,supposed to help with weight loss. If you check you tube there are a lot of videos about it.
Yesterday I took another Lasix. Weight is down to 173. However, im having terrible leg and foot cramps so I dont know what I will do. For some reason its only my right foot that gets puffy. It hasnt done it for agrs but started again a few days ago.
Carol Sue Are you taking a blood thinner? If you keep having problems with your foot and let, please call and see your doctor. I check out the info you shared.
Weight is 175 again today... bouncing. FBG 111 and bp was normal. I am happy with my new bp machine.
I listened to Dr. Westman's video that he sent me and I'm not going to change my woe. I will continue eating low carb. He said something on there that I forgot or had not heard said that way... glucose feeds cancer cells and ketos do not. That is enough info for me to know to keep doing keto/low carb woe.

That recipe isn't much different from the drink DH drinks everyday that he learned from Dr. Berg. The only difference is that he uses cranberry juice instead of ginger and liquid lemon juice instead of fresh lemon juice. I will probably be trying this one Thanks for sharing..
Weight back down to 175. No loss this week. FBG 103 and bp 114/63. So all is good. I'm going to work at adding some fruit and veggies that are supposed to help my immunotherapy work better and hopefully with prayer and the changes I will eventually be cancer free.
Carol Sue I figure y'all went to the casino yesterday since y'all like the fish they serve on Friday. Hope you are doing well.

My weight was 174.2, up from 173.6. But that low was caused by Lasix which I did not take yesterday. So i think this 174 is my true weight. Im glad its going down finally. I really need to lose a lot more and want to work on it more.
Im eating a smaller breakfast. Im out of mushrooms but they dont have many calories. I will get more Ive been eating a smaller breakfast for a few days. i rarely eat lunch since breakfast is late, and I try to eat a,small dinner. Nothing after dinner. DH wanted me to bake a cake, and since I didnt do it he baked it. Its chocolate with chocolate icing out of a,can.
Carol Sue I'm trying to eat smaller meals breakfast and dinner with small snacks of fruit. This is scary for me but I'm trying to do it to keep from having that heavy feeling in the upper part of my stomach area as well as eating foods they say starves cancer cells. Also trying to eat the fiber I need to eat without overdoing it.

The scale is up to 176.6. today. Yesterday I ate a piece of chocolate cake and got very sick. Nauseated. I call it "over sugared.". Ive had this for years, even before I was diagnosed. Sugar was over 300. Today it is 179. Not good, but I dont feel sick and I can bring it down. i need to get more serious about this I know what to do, I just have to do it. As my name says,I want to be healthy.
