Weight back down to 172.2 lbs. I realized the gain is because I've been trying to cut back on the Lasix but I have to have 2 some days instead of just one. I hope to only have 2 or 3 days a week taking 2 because I really don't want to take 2 everyday if I don't have to. FBG was good at 105 and bp 111/62. So that is good. Using tens machine on my back today. I've done some of my exercises already and will get all of those done today.
Carol Sue I hope you like your new doctor when you see him. I hate having to go across town to see my primary but I love him and don't want to have to break in a new one. He is young and I think he is pretty much rooted here since his whole family lives here. He works with us and he knows us and our situation.
Have a good day everybody.

I dont really expect my bloodwork to be good because my diet has been terrible and blood sugar has been very high. I hope this doctor is good. I didnt like my other doctor when I first met him but stayed with him for 30 years. I lesrned to tolerate him. I was able to say No to him. I might be able to look at my results online.
We had very bad storms yesterday. Very high winds. Not much rain or hail, no damage in our area, but closer to Pittsburgh had damage. Our power went out around 5 PM yesterday and was supposed to be back on by 8:30 PM but stayed off overnight into today. We wentvtobthe casino for something to do and the power came on around 6 PM. Step daughter called us to tell us it was back on. We were worried about losing the food in the freezer.
We are due to have another storm tomorrow but not as bad.
Ascale was 178.2 today, same as yesterday.

Labs are way worse than I expected! A1c is 9.2. Its never been that high except maybe when I was first diagnosed. Triglycerides are 500! i have some serious work to do!
Scale was 179 this morning! My new life starts today!
Trish, were you officially diagnosed with neurapathy? I was to get a nerve test but I never went for it. Lately Ive been getting this, sensation that my feet fee like I have socks on when I do not. I think that might be neauropathy but I dont want to go for the nerve test to find out. Im wondering if I make changes that correct my A1C and Triglycerides maybe that would also improve the sensation in my feet. I want to talk to the doctor about changing my diabetes meds plus also switching to prescription fish oil instead of OTC . If there is a big price difference I will just stay with the OTC. Its really my diet and lack of exercise that is,causing the problem. If I can convince him to check labs again in 3 months I might be able to make the necessary changes during that time.

Dr visit went well. I LOVE my new doctor so far. Young, right out of training, and very very handsome!Time will tell if he's a good Dr. He put me on Jardience which I think is similar to the Farixia your DH is on. I will be happy to go to my appointment just to look at him. So between him and my cardiologist Im batting 1000for good looking doctors.
-
Carol Sue I can't remember, but I think DH took Jardiance for a while. It worked beautifully but they had a black box on it about people having amputations because of it and our Primary took him off of it. Not sure there is any problem with it anymore. DH and I both felt like it was difficult know if the medication or something else was the problem, but that was when they switched him to Farxiga. I don't remember but I think Jardiance was not as expensive as Farxiga and I think it controlled his diabetes better than Farxiga. I hope it works for you.
I'm glad you like your doctor. Is he going to see you or at least do labs every 3 months? I have lab tomorrrow for oncology and I'm not sure it is going to be good. I've not following any particular diet plan and some days I don't get enough protein. I see the NP the following Friday and get an infusion. I haven't been feeling as good during this 3 week period. My bones even ache besides the muscle in my back comes and goes. So far I can walk it out or exercise and it goes away. Maybe it will just keep me exercising. I've still got to do the final phase of my exercises.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Exercises done for today.
Carol Sue I forgot to answer your question about the neuropathy. No I never had a test so no diagnosis, but no one disagreed with me when I told the doctors or nurses that my feet like I have socks on. Oncologist did offer to send me to a specialist for it but I never took him up on it. There is a place here now that specializes in helping get all that back, but haven't checked into it to see if my insurance covers it or not. I think about it but haven't. I understand from what I've read protein, veggies and fruits are good for that.

This new pill made me pee so much the scale went down to 176.4. Down 2.6 lbs. This is why it says you lose weight when you start using it.
I tried to find out my new doctors age but it doesnt say online. It says he is a long distance runner. He was captain of the track team in college. Sure is handsome!
-
Carol Sue Congratulations on your weight loss. Glad the new pill is helping to get the fluid off. Hope it helps you FBG as well.
Weight is down .4 lbs to 171.6 this morning and that was with only one Lasix. FBG 103. That is still considered pre-diabetic, but that is better than full blown.
Lab this morning and we will either get KFC or LJS for dinner. Will go by the store to get a few things we forgot to get when we went Tuesday. If it isn't on the list, we forget it. I need celery for my salads.

Today the scale is up 1.4 lb. I really dont want fluid loss from a pill. i dont think its real weight loss and I want fat loss, not just a number on the scale. So far blood sugar is not down, just slightly. its not enough to pay $150 month for the pill. DH was very upset aboutvthe price and I was too. It would be worth it if it was doing something good. Does your DH still take the Glimiperide? This pill is also supposed to be improving kidney function.
-
Carol Sue Yes DH still takes Glimiperide. He takes both G and Farxiga. Farxiga is about $141 a month, but it is supposed to protect his kidneys and helps keep his bs under control. However, he still has to watch what he eats. He eats dinner and then doesn't eat anything else until he has cauliflower before going to bed. I don't think he eats enough protein, but that it seems to work for him.
Weight 172.2 up .4 lb which is probably the sodium in LJS. FBG 108 and bp was good. Can't remember what it was 115/71 I think.
Have a good day.
-
Scale down 1.4 to 176.8. I felt lighter today so expected the drop.
I got almost 10 hours sleep last night. I feel good today. Blood sugar is getting better a little at a time.
Today I want to pay the bills. Im a little late this month.

My weight is up 1 lb today to 173.2 lbs. However, I also am tracking my weight on MFP and today is my WI day and I actually lost 1.6 lbs this week. FBG was up a bit for me. Still less than 120 but I don't like it over 110. I am going to work at cutting my carbs back down. Still not 40 g but lower. I would like to keep them less than 80 grams.
Have a good day.
-
Scale down .8 today from 176.4 to 175.4. I have to keep it going in this direction. .
Blood sugar continues to improve.
We have to go to Walmart today, there are several things we need. Then senior day at Goodwill.
Our 44th wedding anniversary is Friday. I. would like to go to Texas Roadhouse but Friday is a,crowded day so maybe we can observe it on Thursday. Ive been craving stuffed cabbage rolls lately and Id like to make them soon. I think DH is going to want to go to the casino and eat on our anniversary. I always give in to what he wants.
-
Carol Sue Congratulations on your weight is coming down and your blood sugar improving. Happy early Anniversary.
My weight is back down to 171.6 lbs down from 173.2 yesterday. FBG 102 and bp was 108/61; so I'm happy with that.
I got the lab results and a lot of improvements. CA 125 and Protein in urine is coming down, but I still have a problem with getting some numbers to line up concerning my blood and kidney tests so I did some research online on how to correct all that to see how to get my BUN and Creatinine into normal range. Some of them aren't real bad. Some are just a fraction away from the low normal but my BUN and Creatinine are too high as far as I'm concerned so I want work at getting the numbers normal. I now understand why that Dr. Amy who works with cancer patients teaching them how to eat the way she does. I am going to follow her guidelines which seems to be more of Mediterranian low carbish woe and see if I can get those into the normal range. She eats meat protein, but she also teaches eating plant based proteins like legumes and some grains is important. I can't explain it all but it is important to do that to improve the MPV, MCHC, red blood cells and platalets. I need to be drinking more water and liquids to improve the BUN and Creatinine with diet and exercise. I read exercise is important to. I am did 6 days of exercises last week and will do that from now own.
Dr. Amy seems to do a form of low carb but not a keto extremely low carb. I will have a fasting lab again in 3 weeks so I will be able to monitor it.
My oncologist recommended Gabapentin for the neuropathy win I started having symptoms years ago but I never took him up on it because it never helped me when I took it when I had shingles years ago. I decided that my pain I'm having is probably a muscle. I didn't exercise yesterday because I take Sunday off. Exercise helps with the pain. But DH takes Gabapentin so I took one to see if it would help me. Man the pain went away immediately and it felt so good not to have pain. Plus it didn't make me groggy. I took it at bedtime and did have difficulty winding down to sleep but when I slept I slept really good. So I've decided that I will ask my oncologist for a prescription when I see my NP Friday when go for infusion. I will need to work up to 2 a day because I do have pain today and DH told me our Primary had him take 1 for a week, then take 2 a day for a week before moving up to full dose of 3 a day. I'm hoping I can get by with 2 a day and not have to work up to 3. I read up on it and that is one of the 2 meds they use for neuropathy. Carol Sue that is good to know if you have it and it becomes bothersome for you.
Well I'm wordy today and this is long. I got up late so running late on everything today. I hope everybody has a nice day today.
-
I want to read up more about bun/creatinine also and check my labs. This doctor didnt comment on it but I had trouble before. They had me scheduled to see a kidney doctor but I cancelled because they caused the problem in the hospital when they gave me the dye then limited my water intake. I was always told to drink a lot of water to clear the dye out of my kidneys. I love ice cold water and drink a lot of it all the time.
Today the scale was up to 177.2, from 175.8. I didnt get up for the bathroom as much last night, and I ate a lot of chili for dinner. I put macaroni in it, and that raises the carbs. DH cooked the macaroni and he cooked more. than I usually cook so it was high carb. I can get it back down by eating lower carb and drinking more water.
Yesterday in Walmart I was extremely thirsty. They used to have drink machines in the lobby but they took them out. So I bought a bottle of lemonade from the cooler, opened it, and drank it while I shopped. I drank half, and we just rang it up when we checked out. That lemonade might be why my weight is up, even though it was sugar free.
Blood sugar was 120. Thats the lowest I've had in a while.
I took Gabapentin for shingles. I remember you started low and increased gradually. Maybe you didnt take enough for it to work for you. It is not a pain med, it is a nerve med. My PCP told me that Gabapentin treats Neurapathy. But he would not prescribe it for me unless I took the nerve test. I only get the feeling of wearing socks occasionally so I wont get the test until it gets worse.
-
Carol Sue I realize that I have a neurologist from when I had the minor stroke. They wanted me to have an ultrasound but it is expensive and I told them I couldn't afford it since I pay so much for my cancer treatments. Hopefully my oncologist will give me the prescription without me having the test since he offered it to me when I started taking Tramadol. I will know Friday when I see my NP.
My weight was up today too. It went from 171.6 back up to 173.6. I've had it bounce around before, but I'm not sure why it bounced up today. My FBG was 104 and bp 111/62.
I'm kind of confused as to what I should do about my woe because when I read about neuropathy and how Gabapentin works I noticed that the way it works with the neurotransmitters in the brain is also how keto/low carb works. I seem to have difficulty eating keto/low carb these days but I wonder if I could do it would I need the Gabapentin. So confusing.
DS is in the hospital. She was so weak when she took her shower this morning that she couldn't get out of the shower so they had to take her to the ER. She is now in the hospital for dehydration and antibiotics. That is all I know at this time. I just pray she will be okay. I remember in the beginning when I was in and out of the hospital that I found it very hard to hang in there sometimes. There were times I felt like it would have been easier to just die rather than keep fighting.
We went to Walmart and I ended up walking 40 minutes before I started wearing out and needing to come home. We got KFC for dinner.
Have a good day.
