Carol Sue I agree those exercises will help us. I still feel unstable when standing and walking. I'm so glad there are exercises to help with that. I wanted to be walking with a cane by now but maybe I will be able to do that by the time I go to see my Primary in March. Hopefully before then, but maybe I need a little longer.
You know we've gotten discouraged some the past few months and often feel like giving up, but I sow a great example of how faith is supposed to work and it applies with what we are going through too. This preacher was talking about how to walk by faith and the electricity went out for a few minutes. They were singing worshipping the Lord and they didn't stop. They just kept worshipping. Some of the musical instruments that are electrical stopped so they just pushed a piano out on the stage and kept going. They didn't miss a note. At the end of the service, the preacher said the devil tried to stop the service but it didn't work. He said that is how faith should work. He explained whether you are believing for healing or some other thing your walking through, don't let the devil stop you. Just keep believing and doing what you know to do. You don't give up. I felt like the Lord had given me a lesson in how not to give up. Just thought I would share that with you. We don't give up. We get tired and what the Bible calls weary in well doing, but we don't give up.
My roast is in the pot and we will have a quite day. I've heard from my son and his family and will hear from DD when she gets up. Other than that we will probably watch movies all day.

So tired. It seems I'm saying that every day. I slept until 9:30. Then we went to Wal-Mart for a few things. We got a gift card for Wal-Mart for Christmas. I bought some steaks, A pork roast they had a big display with New Year coming up, plus they had turkeys for 50¢ per pound so I got a turkey for $6.21 to put in the freezer for some day.
We had to get batteries for our CO2 detector. It went dead during the night and woke us up beeping. Once we realized there was no emergency but just a dead battery we went back to bed. That was scary and the dog was afraid of the beeping. It was loud.
I don't know what we will do the rest of the day. I have my last day of rehab tomorrow.
Pipsicle Merry Christmas and I hope you had a nice holiday.
Carol Sue Sorry you are tired but I still think it is probably normal for all you've been through. I know you will be glad when you can get to exercising at your own pace. Those were great prices especially that turkey.
The pork roast we had for Christmas was really good and we have enough left over for another meal which we will probably eat tomorrow. DH got take out, but not sure what. He is bringing groceries in now. Yesterday I had 2 protein shakes... one for breakfast and one for supper. It paid off because weight was back down to 163 lbs and FBG 104. I am going to continue eating this way for a while; at least until I hit my goal of 150 lbs.
I upped my bike exercises to 20 minutes today, and added some of those exercises you shared with me. There a few I'm not ready to try as of yet, but I will eventually add them too. So I probably am doing a total of 1 hr exercises. I think you will feel better when you are doing your exercises on your own. I don't do all my exercises at once. I spread them over the day but try to have all of them done by 3 pm when we usually eat dinner.
Better go help put up groceries. Hope everyone has a nice day.

Trish,I hope I can manage my exercise the way you do. I like to do it while I watch my soaps, but I would like to do some in the kitchen and bathroom with the counter to support me. I have a couple that I do in my chair and one in bed.
I have to go to bed now because I have to get up early but I don't feel sleepy. I will be so glad for rehab to be finished!
Carol Sue I actually enjoyed doing my exercises. I was so proud of myself for doing all of them including the weights and then I realized tonight that I didn't do them. I was going to do them at the end of the vibration platform but never got to do them because DGS in FL called while I was on the platform so I never got to do it and forgot to go back and do it when we hung up. However, I did do more and upped most of them to 40 count except for the new ones for balance but I will eventually get them up to 40 count too.

I slept pretty good but I still feel tired. I guess that's how it will be until I'm completely healed. The scale is down 1 lb, to 172. I could feel that. Lb by lb I will get there.

Last day of rehab went well. There were 3 new patients. Otherwise after I left they would only have 1 guy left in our class. I thanked them and told them I would come back to visit.
Now DH says he wants to go to the casino instead of tomorrow for his birthday. I sure hope he wins something!

Today has been off. I haven't done all my exercises but I hope I will be able to get some of them done later but not sure if I will be able to. I might end up skipping today.
I did get other things done that needed to be done. The main thing I wanted to do was check with the hospital to see if I owe anything else. I had gone to the local hospital 3 times this year, but only just got finished paying for the first hospital stay in January. Turns out I don't owe anything for the June trip to the hospital and they just sent bill for my October hospital stay to insurance company. So they will let me know if I owe anything and if I do I can pay it off like I did the first one. However, for now I have r paid for this year. I am so thankful. Now I hope I can stay out of the hospital in 2024.

Trish, I have a copay of $295 if admitted to the hospital which I had to pay 3 times this year but all else was paid by insurance. If I go to the ER but don't get admitted its $100 but if admitted they waive the $100 and charge $295. Some insurance charges per day. Mine is the same for 2 days as it is for 2 weeks. One time I didn't get charged the $295 because I was readmitted for the same problem. My doctors are employed by the hospital and they get a salary. DH and I were wondering if the doctor who did my procedure gets paid for each procedure like a surgeon. I paid him nothing.
Today is,DHs birthday. He is 81. We have nowhere we have to go today but might go to TX Roadhouse for dinner. We have a gift card we got for Christmas. I also have to stop at Walmart as they called about a prescription that is ready for pick up. I have 7 days to get it.

There is going to be some changes on our insurance this year but not sure if it is going to be good or bad. I just hope I don't have to go to stay in the hospital for anything this year.
Carol Sue I am glad your DH enjoyed y'all's trip to the casino and he came out fairly even. Hope he has a Happy Birthday and y'all enjoy the dinner at TX Roadhouse. DH is cooking fish for both of us and he is having a salad and not sure what veggie. I'll have a sweet potato and a zucchini with my fish.
I've done my exercises for today. I woke up sometime around 8:30 and made myself get up. I would like to do that everyday so I can get most of my exercises done before DH gets up. I got a message from oncologist this morning and they are changing my appointments to Fridays. I have Lab work on Jan 5th and Infusion and appt. with team nurse on the 12th. I am working on my diet plan and hoping to get into a routine with that as well. I expect 2024 to be a better and healthier year.

We came home from TX Roadhouse and the CO2 detector was beeping again. DH put a new battery in it last time so I dont knew w why its beeping. I hope we don't have some kind of leak somewhere. I should be got SIL to check. He's the fire chief here. They have a meter they use to check for leaks.
The biggest change to our insurance for next year is we no longer have a copay or deductible on dental. I had to get that one tooth extracted this year in order to have my heart procedure done but I still have one tooth that needs a crown. Everything else is pretty much the same. Our insurance is pretty good but its best to not need it.
