Carol Sue I'm sorry you felt bad after eating and tired. I hope you can get a good nights rest and feel better tomorrow. DH will be awake at midnight, but I'm not sure I will because I'm not interested in the movie he is watching and it is very possible that I could fall asleep.
I am pleased to say I had a 4 1/2 hours eating window. I wanted to eat but I decided that I needed to start fasting sometime and make today Day 1 of 2MAD. Hard to believe that tomorrow is January 1, 2024.

My post from last night is not here. I don't know why this is happening. When I first got online it was there but now that I closed and got back on its gone.
No, i'm wrong. Its there. You posted after I did, Trish.
I fell asleep but DH was still awake at Midnight and I had told him to wake me up. So we watched the ball drop in NYC, said good riddance to 2023 and welcomed 2024. I slept ok, 7.5 hours of ok sleep. I got on the scale and weighed 174.4 to start the year. That is disappointing because I had been down to 165 after my procedure so I've gained 9 lbs. Its not fluid because I took my fluid pill and was up peeing a couple times overnight. I started 2023 at 180.7 so I'm down 6. Better than gaining. I will try harder this year. When I had heart surgery in 2008 I was 217, and I've never gained that back. One thing to be proud of. This is not easy, especially since I'm trying to do it without giving up my favorite foods. Its not really a diet, just trying to eat healthier and avoid obesity. I hope I live to see a healthy weight.
The woman next door had a lot of company last night. I heard a few fireworks. I don't know if it was them but it was just a few. Nothing crazy. This is a relatively quiet neighborhood. Mostly senior citizens, at least over 50. We have been here 42 years and one couple across the street has been here longer. Others are younger and most here less than 20 years, and still employed. Only a couple young children.
My weight was down to 159 even this morning and my FBG was 108. I am thrilled with that. However, I must have had too much sodium as it was 140/60. But I had drank some cool water which could have caused that. I remember when Daddy's bp would go too low, the CHF nurses would have us give him cold water to drink to bring it up. I'm pleased with my starting numbers for 2024 and I will work to keep them improving.
Carol Sue I've been seeing some of those Neuropathy centers/doctors in the area. So far they are in other cities, but if I find one here in town, I will ask one of my doctors to give me a reference if my insurance will cover any of it. Until then I will have to add Harvard beets to my daily menu. I might get DH to get me a batch of beets with the green tops and cook up enough of them myself to eat off of for a week.
I'm glad you were able to sleep. Someone in our neighborhood went crazy with the fireworks. They never bother us as we usually enjoy them, but this year they were shooting off some that felt like they were exploding in our yard too close to our house. We just prayed our house and yard would be safe from fire and all is well today.
Got to get busy. I got to get exercises done and plan to stay on the 2MAD since it worked so good yesterday. Like you I want to eat foods that I enjoy that my tummy will tolerate. I got up at 8:30 and want to keep that routine too. I want to get back to my devotionals again too.

Trish, other root vegetables are high in NO such as carrots and celery, plus arugala and other leafy greens. As far as I know I've never had Arugala.
I'm really tired today. We went to Goodwill and my legs hurt from walking. I don't know what to do about it. I don't see my doctor until June. Something better change before then. Maybe it will improve when I start exercising, if I'm able to.
When I got up this morning we had a dusting of snow on the grass and the deck. Then around 9:30 it started snowing harder, big flakes. everything got covered but it melted on the road right away. There is snow predicted twice in the coming week. Winter is here.
I did some well needed cleaning today. I was looking for a bill that I knew came. I found it and shredded a lot of junk mail.
Carol Sue Sorry your legs bothered you today. Hopefully they will get stronger as you get back into your regular exercises again. Try to remember to do what you can without straining too much It has taken me a long time to get where I am and I don't push when I feel I need to back off or slow down a little.
I ate an equivalent of 1 meal and 2 small snacks, but stayed within 6 hours. I restarted MFP but never finished tracking. Not sure how to track some things. So far I have felt good although I have slept some but not as much as I have so I will get better each day.

I hope my legs get stronger but also stop hurting. They never did that before. I'm sleeping longer but not deep and restful. I think I will try taking Magnesium again. I was afraid to ask the doctor about it because he might say no. I don't like to hear no. I will read about it and read the bad side effects. I want to read Magnesium Miracle but don't want to pay for it. Ha ha.
Wal-Mart had no large eggs. The only ones they had were 2 18 pks wrapped together. I bought them because I was almost out! 12 pks fit better in my fridge. I think they wanted to get rid of those so they held the 12 pks back. I just ate 2 fried eggs and 1 slice of toast. Yummy! I don't think I will ever get tired of them. I've been eating them since I was 4 years old. I remember I gagged when Mom made them! She told me she didn't care if I gagged I was sitting there til I ate them!
I have not done MFP for a few days. I will get back to it. I want to do everything I need. I hope to exercise some today but will start out small.
I just checked and I missed 9 days! I'm surprised!

I did some exercise. I didn't watch the time but I think it was 20-25 minutes. I did the bike, eliptical, body glide, treadmill, squats, and the vibration platform. I just went from one to the other. It was great for a start.. I was looking thru my exercise videos. I think I have Zumba Gold somewhere but I could only find regular zumba. I will keep looking. Gold is for seniors, lower intensity of the same exercises.

Carol Sue I hope your legs will stop hurting. When I was a little girl, my aunt would come visit us and I remember her sitting and just rubbing my legs because they hurt all the time. Back then they would tell me it was growing pains but I don't think it was. Never did know why they hurt so much. So I sympathize with you.
Weight this morning was 157.4 and FBG was 99. I had to sit and relax but finally got my bp down to around 130/49. My starting weight last year was 191.4 and FBG was 105. BP was 121/61. So there has been improvement.
I don't think I'm going to do anything this year or at least for now is eat between 6 to 8 hrs eating window. Not going to worry about eating only 2MAD because of the treatments I'm having. I will fast on Lab days, but eat on infusion days as that works better for me. I don't think I will have to take 2 fluid pills as long as I track on MFP. Yesterday and today sodium is less than 1000 mg.

We went to Texas Roadhouse to use the rest of our giftcard. I had the appetizer of ribs and a sweet potato instead of fries. That was enough for me. It was really crowded for a Tuesday. I guess was everyone is tired of Holiday food.
My legs don't hurt anymore. I was ok walking. I think I will be fine once I get used to exercising. I want to do it M-F. Weekends off.
Has your swelling come down? I never notice swelling in my legs or feet but they said I get fluid in my belly and chest. So I take my fluid pills. You lost a lot of weight this year! You are doing well.
Carol Sue I am glad your legs don't hurt any more. I agree that most people are tired of Holiday foods.
I started tracking on MFP on Jan 1st and I am keeping calories under 1400 calories although I allow myself up to 1500. Yesterday I went over the fat grams but did good with it today. So today has been a good day. This is working better since I just count calories and eat what I really like moderately. No off foods although I don't eat some foods. I just don't bring them in the house.

Trish, I dont bring crackers into the house anymore except saltines for DHs chili. I can't moderate, crackers like Triscuits or Wheat Thins. But I did eat crackers and cheese at step sons on Christmas.
I want to buy avocados again. I read something about eating one a day but I don't remember why. Don't they have potassium? I'm not supposed to have potassium.
DH wants to go to the casino today. I really don't want to but I will. We are going to get snow tonight into tomorrow and lots of snow on Saturday. 3-6 inches they say. I want snow but not to be on the roads. The interstate gets salted good but its still bad. Slippery spots that are hard to see at night. I want to stay home.
Carol Sue The swelling seems to be better. Now that I'm tracking on MFP it shows that my sodium grams are less than 2000 mg. Usually around 1500. Therefore I am only taking 1 Lasix as my Primary doc wants. I will only take the second one if I'm eating a high sodium food that day to take the grams over 2300 mg that MFP says is normal.
I usually plan my meals for the day on MFP 1st thing in the morning if I know what we are going to eat ahead of time. I find it helps me stay OP. So far today's calorie plan is less than 1100. It will probably end up being around 1200.
Thanks for the links; I will check them out. Y'all have a safe drive to and from the casino and I hope it will be a good day. I wouldn't want to go with a lot of snow on the roads either.

We went too the casino early, around noon. DH decided he wanted to go to the local casino half hour away. It is a much shorter drive but we rarely do good there. Well we did good today and came home with all the money we took, maybe a little bit more. We stopped on the way home and got McDonald's fish sandwiches. They were buy one get one for $1. I haven had one for years but used to get them all the time years ago. So that and French fries were dinner. Its good to be home early.
Those links I posted were mostly information we already know, but interesting and its good to be reminded.
At the hospital they told me to keep sodium around 2000 and that's what mine usually is, give or take.
Today there was a woman on tv, Dr Gabrielle Lyon, who wrote a book, Forever Strong, about how muscle helps with metabolism. I would like to read it but its expensive. I don't lose me to pay a lot for a book in case I don't like it and it seems like a waste of money. I will keep looking.

Today was more of an IE way of eating but kept it between 7 hours and kept calories within 1500. I've reached 60 minutes worth of exercises a day now.
Carol Sue Glad your day at the casino turned out o kay. I also like to get books I can read for free because I have bought some books to find it wasn't all it was supposed to be.

I didn't get up until 10:15 and I went to bed around 10 last night, but Fitbit says it was not good sleep. I was not asleep the whole time and it was not deep sleep. But it was rest. I think I get too much blue light staying on my tablet til I go to bed. DH watches shows I dont like and he keeps switching channels. DH got up earlier than I did. The dog stays in the bedroom until I get up. Then he runs to the kitchen for DH to let him out. When he wants out he just stares at you. He does not bark to go out. He only barks when he hears someone coming outside. If he comes and stares at you he wants to go outside. We had to learn that.
The scale went down to 172.2 yesterday. I feel fat today but it still says 172.2. Maybe it needs reset again. Or maybe its right. I didn't exercise yesterday but walked at the casino. I hope to exercise today, this afternoon. I ate breakfast. DH has cut back from 3 eggs to 2 eggs for me. I told him too. But I get 1 slice of toast and now I have toast leftover because I eat a little bit with each egg. Its my habit. We rarely have bacon or sausage. I only buy it once in a while.
We got a little bit of snow overnight but a bigger snowstorm is coming Saturday night.
The book I want is new so I can't find it cheap anywhere.
