Fatmad I agree with Carol Sue. You do so well on the long fasts. There was a time I could do that too, but then we didn't know about fasting. I would just get busy and not stop to eat. I had jobs where I would work through lunch hour and I remember one job I had that the boss came and told me that I had to take off for the lunch hour whether I ate or not. Boy those were the days. I don't know what happened. I didn't have weight problems back then and had the energy to walk everywhere. I can't believe it is ALL from being older. I think it is from the habits that are hard to break now that I'm older.

Carol Sue I quit buying avocados because I let them ruin and like you I just didn't like eating them when they turned dark. I wouldn't eat a whole one because of the calories or pts. When you think about it, I should just buy them and eat it what I can while it is good and just throw the rest away. I would get the benefit of it and since I let them ruin and throw them away, I would still get something out of it instead of throwing the whole thing away. Maybe I should learn how to make guacamole and just add what I don't eat to the mixture and have fresh guacamole all the time. Then I wouldn't have to throw any out.

I'm still 191 this morning although it kept bouncing down to 190.8 but just couldn't stay there. Today DH wants to go to Walmart to get his meds and I need to pick up a few things especially around the pharmacy. We still have to go into only one side of the store and I just didn't feel like walking all the way over there last time, but will make it part of my exercise today. I just need a few groceries that I forgot last time. Any way long story short, I am back on regular WW SP guidelines this morning. I just don't like making myself eat more than I need.

DH wants to get KFC and I have 23 daily pts and 4 weekly pts that I haven't used on the Wendie Plan and since I am not doing WP any more I don't have to use the 23 pts so I am going to make this a 2MAD. I have planned 2 scrambled eggs, yogurt and a banana for breakfast and I will only spend 2 pts for breakfast. I will spend 16 pts for 2 KFC thighs, 4 pts for 1% milk and I will have finger salad and green beans for 0 pts and I'll have 1 pt to roll over to tomorrow. I have no plans for the next two days except to get my house organized so I can make this a longer fast and hopefully do just 2 meals tomorrow. I would love to swing into 2MAD on most days. That is how I ate when I first married DH 17 years ago and I have to say the weight loss was effortless.

I've decided to have my niece and her 2 little boys over Friday evening for a visit so that is one my excuses to get this part of my house organized. I'm going to start throwing things out. I've read that if you declutter your house that it helps with the weight loss too so it is time to get it done. I think I will be making that my exercise for the next few days as well.

Hope everyone has a blessed day today.

Trish, I don't think it has anything to do with age but is just our lifestyles have changed. Our country as a whole has changed eating habits.

I will probably go back to buying a green avocado every few days and eating it when it gets ripe, then I will always have one ripening. I won't worry about calories or fat because it's healthy fat. If I start to gain I will stop buying them.

Well, I planned on eating 2 thighs from KFC today but just couldn't get it down. I ended eating maybe 1 1/2 pieces and took a lot of the breading off. It filled me up so fast. So I ended up with 2 pts to rollover to tomorrow. Plus I ended up eating within 4 eating hrs. I did get hungry a little earlier but I didn't eat because I decided that I want the long fast more than I want to eat. I hope to have a 19 hr fast by the time I eat tomorrow. So I've had a great day today. It actually feels good not to feel stuffed. This is my favorite way to feel after eating.

It has turned cool here although we are still using fans. I think rain has stopped for us from the Gulf but not sure so not sure how long it will be cool.

I'm up early again today. I tried to fall back to sleep but I couldn't. I weighed 191 again. I'm ok with that.

I had chicken yesterday, too. DH went to the local store and got a rotisserie chicken. He didn't want any so he made himself a hamburger again. So I have chicken left for today, or maybe I'll feed it to the dog. It seems that my body is not satisfied if it doesn't have eggs. Even if I skip breakfast I want eggs the first time I eat for the day. I used to eat them at bedtime too but stopped that when I started with the shorter eating window. It doesn't seem to have made a noticeable difference. I could probably skip breakfast and eat eggs in the evening. It doesn't seem to matter since it is fat and protein and doesn't involve carbs.

Carol: eggs are a good and easy protein food for you, no need to fight that off. Enjoy.
I ate well yesterday but was 156 this am. I know I was down with a bit of dehydration yesterday, and that wasn't exactly accurate, but I assume the same for me today. Will plan this as a fasting day. Last day of being on call. This have quieted with work now. I still had 6 hours of work yesterday and at least 4 today, just doing visits to those who have delivered.
I am still not sleeping great, which is not helping.
Trish: your body seems to be craving healthier eating, and doesn't want the coating from KFC.
I could not finish my supper last night either.

May we all continue with our plans and do well today.

I too am still at 191 this morning. I will probably just finish off my points today. My week on Wendie plan only left me with my weight up .4 lbs from my 190.6 last week. At least I hope it won't be any higher when I WII in the morning.

I did just 2MAD yesterday but will go back to my 3 meals on 16:8 IF today hoping I can just get back under 191. Didn't feel up to cooking at noon today so I just made myself a slice of toast with a Tbls of peanut butter for 4 pt breakfast. We are having BLT for lunch and I may scramble a couple of eggs for dinner and yogurt.

Exercise today is still housework. I bought a regular mop and bucket yesterday and made bleach water to clean my kitchen and bathroom floor. I have a nice swifter and it does good in a pinch but I hate it for getting in the grooves of the flour and just doesn't keep my flour looking as clean as it does when using the bleach water. I haven't seen my flour look this nice since we moved in. Just need to do this at least once a month if not more. Doing that deep cleaning grandma's used to do. LOL

Hope we all have a successful day today.

Trish, is lunch your 3pm meal with DH? Do you both do your own thing for the other 2 meals? Does he still eat his cauliflower and cheese? Lately I've been eating my cauliflower with grated parmesan/romano. I just buy Great Value from Walmart.

We are having steak today. DH is having fried potatoes and broccoli. I want cauliflower, I think. I am considering having scrambled eggs at bedtime.

Carol Sue Yes, lunch is our main meal together around 3ish. We both have meat and salad and then I fix him whatever veggie I know he will eat and I fix whatever veggie I want. There are some that we can eat the same but sometime I want something different as I try to make my veggie a 0 pt item and since he isn't dieting he can have what he wants.

I had my BLT today and used the avocado as my fat rather than mayo. It was very good. I really like popcorn and pretzel sticks so for dinner I have a 2 c white cheddar popcorn I someone on youtube WW eat that is 3 pts for 2 c and I get a certain pretzel stick that you can have 52 per serving but 30 is only 2 pts so my dinner is popcorn and pretzel sticks for a total of 5 pts. My eating window is turning out to be 6 hrs so that is good.

Ended up doing 8 hr eating window after all.

My weight is down .6 to 190.4. But I ate 1700+ calories yesterday. MFP has me set up for 1200. I think I burned 1500 on Fitbit. So I don't know. I had the scrambled eggs at bedtime so I had a 12 hour eating window. I03 gm of protein but I also had 117 gm of carb, 110 gm fat and 42 gm fiber. The carbs were because I had 3 snack size Kit Kat and 4 slices of toast, which also contributed to the fiber. The carbs zero out for the Aldis bread because of the fiber. On MFP the avocado shows 0 fiber but it does have fiber so that should be 9 more gm. MFP is not accurate. Without the Kit Kat and toast it would have been lower carb. So I have no idea how my weight is down! I don't think I would lose if I ate that way every day.

Fatmad Hope you got some rest. I hope DH tests came back okay and he has a quick recovery.

Carol Sue Congratulations on the loss. I don't understand the loss eating more either. I think it has to do with fiber. I know I plan to start working on using the WW Flex plan using the slider that checks the fiber so that when I quit WW online when I get to the end of this special I'm paying for I used to lose better. I also know that fiber is key to keeping bs down. I was looking at my old book and I think it will make a lot of things much easier. I can always go back to WW if it doesn't . Also if I work with it between now and then I should know whether to to quit WW or not.

Shaybelle Hope all is well with you.

Pipsicle Hope things are going good with the adjustment to the new braces.

WI day today and weight was 189.6. FBG is still normal so all is good. I had an egg and cheese sandwich for breakfast with Canadian bacon for 3 pts. I finally found some fat free cheddar cheese which was o pts. I was going to have an egg McMuffin but the English muffin was 3 pts and 2 sl Sara Lee Bread is 2 pts so I went with the bread. I should have just used the muffin because I added a second slice of CB thinking it was still 0 pts but it was 1 so next time I will use the muffin and have just 1 sl CB.

I think Wendie Plan showed me that I don't always eat enough. I am going to work at making better choices. I have the 8:16 IF ratio down pretty good. So maybe now it is just getting the healthy choices right now. I am bad about just grabbing something easy in the evening.

Carol Sue Y'all going to the casino today or y'all going the weekend?

Hope everybody has a nice day.

HI friends: 157 after a big meal of fish and chips, the fries were a wonderful treat. Take out from the place with the GF fryer.
I other news; liver enzymes the same, at least not worse, but not healing in spite of my efforts. have to go to t gastroenterologist, even tho I am sure this is auto-immune. Sigh. That will be like a one year wait i am sure.

We went to the casino. It was a long day and I was exhausted. DH did not do well but we started out at the WV casino to use our free play and I won $600 which I brought home. I won $640 but I spent the $40. I didn't tell DH because he would have wanted some after he lost his money. I told him on the way home. He was mad that I didn't tell him but I explained why and he knows it's true. I always used to win at the WV casino but it is old and dingy compared to the one in PA and they took out the machines DH used to like.

My Wt is back up .6 to 191 but no bathroom visits so that's probably why. I did not fast yesterday. We were not planning on eating at the casino but they gave me $10 for food so I got DH a hamburger and I had a slice of Pizza. I did get a lot of walking in at the casino. My back, hips and thighs hurt by the time we came home. I guess that's good. Maybe I should have taken Tylenol but I didn't think of that. I always have some in the pill box I carry in my purse. I I got 7.5 hours of sleep so I feel much better today.

Trish, I see you are finding that you can eat a little more without gaining. I can too, but I still feel that I have to cut back AND fast to get a loss so I will have to get back to that.

fatmad Glad you enjoyed the meal and stayed in the 150s. I know you were hoping for the liver enzymes to be better but the same is good to. Maybe next time they will be better.

Carol Sue Congrats on the casino win. I would bring home the bulk of it too. That is good self-discipline.

Up early to go to beauty shop and the store. I wanted to go to Aldi's but might wait and have DH go with me one day. He finds goodies there that he likes too so wouldn't hurt to have him go with me. Company tonight with niece and great nephews so I want to pick up some things for the boys to snack on and get back home.

Even though I was up 2 hrs early, my weight was still 189.6 and FBG was 97. So I must be missing my low FBG in the morning. I was glad to see that.

Bonjour Everyone!

I have been busy. The days have been flying by. Whys that? Well......remember I thought I was doing so good in my class? Well, the class is online via a thing called Moodle. Well its blackboad type of platform. Well its poorly designed. So when I thought I had done all my work, in fact I had not scratched the surface. Being a teacher I was thinking "oh my this is so poorly planned out" and purchased materials that met the syllabus. Turns out there were entire sections I had missed and it wasn't until my professor asked about the practice exercises. I was like what practice exercises, was told and then had a freak out because 1. I'm a perfectionist, 2. My disability also includes a learning disability which causes me to process information at a slower pace and have to transfer it to my long term memory because if a truly stressful period comes up then my short term memory just dumps, I freak out and then I get paralyzed and feel like I cant do anything. So I have spent the last 3 days feverishly trying to catch up and you cant fake language. You have to do the work. So not only was I doing the exercises but I also had to work to get all the new information remembered. I had no idea how much of a task that would be. The alphabet, the vowels, the semi vowels, definite article, pronouns, adjectives, introductions, farewells, formal and informal. Just so much and all the while the class is moving on. I have my first speaking assignment this weekend but I JUST caught up last night but I cant rest on my laurels because I have to stay on top of it now.

I said all of that because I am a stress eater. I have STRUGGLED these past few days. My last two down days turned into 20:4s. which make me feel like crap when I wake up. I have not done my walk because 3 days of not walking make it harder to do it again. Also, the DH has still not found an engineering job and my disability income does not cover all my bills. But if my DH takes a part time job that is underemployment for him then the new rules of disability is that if he makes more than 6k then they will change your benefits. Plus we have engineering size student loan payments. My DH is autistic, dyslexic and dysgraphic with anxiety. Job hunting is horrible for him. He's good when he's in a job or in school or whatever but if it involves talking to people or interacting with new people its like he gets paralyzed. So I guess we are co-dependent. We make up for each other's shortfalls with disabilities. So I have to literally be there and job search with him and talk it through and its more than I can do guys. I have to make time to find some sort of employment recruiter or something. You'd think a Computer Engineer could find a job quickly. He's been to resume workshops and interview classes. There has to be a reason he's not being contacted but that is going to require me to review his resume and what he's doing and when I do that he feels like I am saying he cant do it alone. So its touchy. If my disability covered all our bills I wouldn't worry about it until COVID is over but I don't know how we'll last this way. This new apartment is way more expensive than what we used to pay and utilities were included in our last place but not here. This place is what the average rent costs. The housing market is keeping people in poverty. This would not be a problem if he could land a job. He worked as an intern for Amazon a couple of summers ago. OMG, it was such a taste of what life would be like on the other side of university. He just turned 37 last month so he's not really feeling what I feel. I'm 49 and I'm like trying to deal with doing this phase over again. That poor University student/ new grad period of time. I know its only been 2 months since he graduated but 8 weeks of job hunting 6 days a week without a response or reply gets tough.

On the bright side, I luckily stocked both my chest freezers and fridge/freezer when we moved in. With alternate day calorie restriction we are going through food much more slowly which is good because I dont have enough to buy it anyway. I'll worry about that bridge when and if I come to it. I am still holding out that a solution will present itself. I could work but I'm at high risk if I contract COVID, so I've stayed close to home. I have until Dec 15 then this course ends. Then I dont have to worry about classes. DH thinks I should wait until he gets a job before I take anymore. Sighs. I agree. Cant think about that now. All I can do is carry on.

I hope everyone is doing great this week. I have not stepped on the scale. I'll do it on Oct 1st like I planned. I dont need another set of thoughts on my plate.

To better news, its officially Autumn guys and my favorite time of year. Soups! Soups! Soups! I love soup. Soup and sandwiches are my comfort food. When I was sick or down my mom would make me soup and a half of sandwich and I'd watch tv on the sofa. You'd think it would be something else but nope chicken noodle soup and a turkey sandwich is like a hug or something.

Also I finally have my MRI rescheduled for my back but its in the town I just moved from. Sheesh! I dont have a car so now getting there is a burden. I dont have a new doctor here yet either. I contacted disability because I dont know who my new case worker is. You cant just drop by and find out. If I knew then I could email and ask for a medical ride. I want to talk to live ppl not automated messages. Ugh! If I call and ask them to put it at the hospital here, may take more months to get an appointment but might have to handle it that way. The appointment is at 12:30 am so that also makes it a challenge.

Well I'm off to break my fast, eat something, do homework, and job hunting and somehow squeeze in a walk. Its an Up day at least which really matters not as I dont have much of an appetite on up days.

Madeleine - So glad to hear your DH is steadily improving and had the test. I have never tried to go that long but it probably gets easier the longer you are in it? With the liver enzymes how long since your last test prior to this one?

Carol - Congrats on the win at the casino! What an exciting feeling it must have been.

Patty - What a treat for the company. I am an entertainer. I used to love having company over before 2020. I will again but right now I do miss socializing as I normally would. I hope you had a great visit.

Talk soon.
