Well, I slept until 9 and got on the scale anyway. I'm back down to 191.8. I guess I'm bouncing lower which is a step in the right direction. It was wonderful to get up and have a cup of coffee. Its very hard to do without. Our hospital used to allow decaf but now they offer no coffee. But I found out if I am able to walk the halls I can go to the visitors waiting room and get a sip of decaf that's there for visitors. Most of the time in the hospital I am fasting because I'm going for tests or procedures.

I cannot eat greasy or fatty food. I get acid reflux. I also don't like it. I like to blot things like sausage, bacon, hamburger patties. So I like and will eat bacon, but don't want it greasy on the outside. I love butter and can eat it straight. Go figure. Not eating at night help tremendously.

My belly is my worst part. I don't know why, but my mother had a huge belly so I guess its hereditary. My thighs are flabby but not big. They just need exercise to build some muscle.

My size 16 pants are getting very loose. I have a pair size 14 that fit great but my waist is too big and I can't pull them over the belly. Another inch or so. My pants fit ok right out of the dryer until I sit for a while.

So I assume that I have a lot of visceral fat. I read that exercise is very beneficial for belly fat. Last night I had a dream that my belly was flat. I looked down and was surprised. I never got tested for liver fat, only liver function.

I have not decided what I will do today or eat. I've had eggs and dry toast for breakfast. I would like to fast until dinner. I agree with Trish about having at least 5 hours between meals or longer. I feel better and my food tastes better when I'm hungry.

Carol Sue I am sure it won't be long until we both will be in the 180s headed for the 170s. We just have to hang in there. That is great that your size 16s are loose. I don't know if I could go down to 16s as I am just now brave enough to have ordered 18-20 size jeans which just might end up being too big since my size XL is way to big. I really think that I just might be losing inches when the scale isn't moving. You may find the same thing.

Shaybelle So sorry you were sick. I can't do really greasy foods any more either. For one thing I did LF diets for so many years before the years of LCing came along. I would drain my ground beef and and actually wash the grease off the meat before making spaghetti etc in those days. All fried foods I cooked had the fat drained and patted off of it. I cook my bacon in the microwave on paper towels and so crispy there is no fat left on it. I just don't eat it any more. Like Carol Sue, I do like butter but since I started WW, I use the spray butter like Pam to cook what I can without oil and I even spray my veggies with it just for the flavor. And yet, I have to say I would love to have a Country Style Pork Rib but don't eat them because DH hates eating fat and won't eat them. Eating so much of those which was a big thing in TX back then at our BBQ family gathering is probably the DH#2 had CHF and died at 65 yrs old. So who knows.

Fatmad Glad your weight is moving again. I noticed your Thanksgiving is Monday. I hope you will really enjoy it with no major set backs. I hope your other test gives you better news about the liver. Will be praying for you as you have really been so good with your diet etc to help with it. That is another good thing about lc if I could do it. I remember when I did Atkins that my vicseral fat really came down a lot. WW doesn't seem to help with that too much that I can see. I guess I need to start measuring again instead of depending on the scale so much.

I measured myself yesterday just under my breasts because I need to get some new bras as these are big on me and very uncomfortable. If that is right, I am going to have to buy a size 38 B. I used to buy 44 C not exactly where you want to lose. LOL but I guess it doesn't matter at this age.

Weight stayed at 189.6 YAY!! FBG was 100 after eating at Olive Garden. So all is good. I better get over there and ride my stationary bike and I want to mop my kitchen before I do that. I hope everybody has a very good day.

Pipsicle I think I remember you saying you lurk so Hi

Trish, it sounds like we are built opposite. I am small on the bottom and big on the top. I wear a 40-42 D bra. I have some smaller bras that I kept in case I get smaller. Bras are very expensive. Upper body fat is the unhealthy fat. There are no organs in your lower body to be damaged.

A good calorie free thing to use on vegetables is a spray sold in the butter case. It comes in a spray bottle, either I Can't Believe Its Not Butter or Parkay, rather than butter flavored Pam. No calories, no fat. But it tastes like butter. Sometimes I even spray it on my toast.

DH wants to go to Texas Roadhouse. It won't be crowded on Tuesday. I will probably order steak. Yum!!

Carol Sue I have both the I Can't Believe it's Not Butter and the Parkay spray butter but it is easier for me to use the other spray because it is 0 pts but the other does have pts. Enjoy Texas Roadhouse. We haven't been there in a long time. It is very loud and with DH's hearing aid it is not pleasant trip for him.

My day has gone very well. As I said I'm back OP today and I used 19 pts so I will have 4 to roll over. I still had 2 roll over from before we went out yesterday so this will give me 6 extra pts added to weeklys. I ate within an 8 hr window so that is good too.

I hope we all sleep well tonight.

Trish, I don't understand how the spray butter could have points with no calories or fat. I guess I don't understand points.

The scale said 194 this am, up 2.2 lbs. I think that is either fluid or its because I weighed at 5 am. If I weigh again at 8 or 9 it will be after coffee. I could not fall back to sleep. I can't lay there.

Texas Roadhouse was good, but I ate 2 rolls. Not a good idea but they were so soft and fresh and they were calling to me. " Carol, Carol!!". My steak was good and I had green beans and a salad. I passed on the potato so I could have a roll, but I ended up with 2. And I paid with a bump up on the scale. I don't notice the noise but they do play country music.

I will do some cleaning today. No plan for dinner yet.

My doctors office called and said my bloodwork results are good but I will be the judge of that when I get my copy. I knew my A1c would be up. It was 6.2 last year and is 7 now. That is not satisfactory to me but it is to him. I will get it back down. My appointment isn't until the 23 rd.

Carol Sue It is good that your bloodwork came back good even though the A1c is high. You can get that down before you see the doc. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip to TX Roadhouse. I like their steaks and probably should think about meeting DS and BIL to eat there sometime since it is on their side of town. I don't know about their rolls, but the rolls at Cracker Barrel are 5 pts each so I have to really want one to eat it and have the pts saved for them. Even the breadsticks I had at Olive Garden were 4 pts and of course I knew I wanted one so I used my pts for them. I ate half of one with my salad and the other half with my meal. Of course I have no idea about the calories for them. I'm sure most of that 2.2 lb bump is fluid and like you said you might not have had that much of a bump if any if you had weighed at your regular time.

I don't understand how those sprays have pts either. Oh well. I know on green plan my eggs are 2 pts each but 0 pts on the blue plan which is why I like the blue. I used the slider I bought from an older plan to check out the pts and it showed my eggs were were 2 pts each. Still not sure however, some of the other foods that were higher pts on blue are the same or less pts with the old plan. The fat and protein seems to be what makes the difference. If I knew I knew that I would continue to exercise, I would go back to using the old plan when my contract is over with WW.

DS is not losing either and she is discouraged with her situation and thinking of stopping the shots. She thinks the shot stops working is because they want her to have the bariatric surgery. I didn't say much but I think the same thing, however, I did tell her that I couldn't have the surgery because Medicare won't pay for it and she told me that her insurance won't pay for it either unless they find something wrong with the lap band she still has. If something was wrong with it then her insurance would pay for it to be removed and the sleeve they use now to be put it.

No change here today. Weight still 189.6 so that is good news and my FBG still staying in normal range. So I am happy with the way things are at the moment although it would be nice for the scale to move downward, but I've decided to be happy with staying the same. I have heard that the weight you have carried for a longer period of time are the ones that are harder to lose and I am probably at that point in my weight loss. I could probably change it with low carb or keto but I'm not willing to do that at this time so I will just roll with it.

I didn't want to get up this morning but I got up at 8:30 as I do better to just go ahead and get up at that time. I woke up with a catch in my left side so I must have either slept wrong or twisted the wrong way cleaning. I've done my exercise bike for today and I'm going to take a quick nap before DH gets up.

Y'all have a great day.

Trish, my A1c is up, but its not considered high to my doctor. It is right on the line. Its just higher than last time and higher than I want it to be. I will get it back down but A1c is over a 3 month period. It will not be down in 2 weeks. I will not get it checked until next year now.

Do you think the bariatric center is giving fake shots? I hope not. But I think maybe the shots do not make you lose weight, but you lose weight and you think it is the shots. If the shots were really doing it then you would gain it all back when you stopped the shots. Maybe your sister could lose weight on her own. She has done so well. Maybe she has just hit a plateau.

I ate every carb in sight today. The only protein I had was an egg salad sandwich. And I have no protein planned for dinner. I plan on getting back on plan tomorrow and getting down to 189 by my doctors appt. All I have to worry about now is my blood pressure. I'm glad he is busy and can't fit me in for 2 weeks.

Carol Sue DS and I always thought when weight loss slowed down that the shots had changed. So I don't know if they help you lose for a while and then change them or not. My doctor always said that he thinks that the reason people lost weight on those shots was because they were motivated to diet and they would have lost weight any way. However, DS lost so much so fast in the beginning and if we believe all that they say about us when we get older that we lose slowly then it was easy to believe it was the shots. I thought maybe the reason that my weight never went really fast is because I was always dieting but then it stopped working for me completely. That was shy I quit taking them. No since in wasting money once it wasn't working for me any more. I personally think my weight loss is slow now because I've probably hit those lbs that are difficult to lose because I've carried these lbs for so long. That is why the plateaus last so long now.

Sorry you are having problems with the carbs. I used to do the same thing wanting to eat every carb I could get my hands on. That is why it is good for me to do WW. I don't have those cravings for them any more. I just hope I can keep it up. As you know, there is no guarantee with any diet. Just like an alcoholic who can't take that drink, we can do the same thing.

Trish, you know how we say there is no magic pill. Well there is no magic shot. The shot COULD have something in it that causes you to lose your appetite but then you're losing because you are eating less. And you said your sister was very big. The bigger you are the faster you lose. Now she has gotten smaller. As you get smaller, your body requires fewer calories. And someone who has lost a lot of weight, constantly dieting, like us, our bodies require less food than someone who was never big. This is all part of the reason why 95% of the people who lose weight cannot keep it off. I have read this so many times and it can be very depressing. Even those who have weight loss surgery gain the weight back eventually. This is why JUDDD works so well. You eat normal every other day. Your body does not get a chance to slow your metabolism. But most people can't handle the down days and they drop out. The JUDDD thread on the LC forum used to be the busiest thread, now most are gone. I once read of a plan where first you eat to repair your metabolism, but you actually gain weight first, before you start to lose. Most people drop out when they see that initial gain. There are people on the LC forum who have lost 80-100 lbs but they have done it twice before and gained it all back. One woman just posted that she was down to 135 but now she's back up to 187. And here I am worrying about a couple pounds. So this is why I think I am no different than those people and maybe I will never get to goal. But I'll never stop trying and maybe that will stop me from gaining.

This morning I am up another .5 lb. After all the carbs I ate, mostly bread and potatoes, I am surprised that is all I gained. And I didn't sleep but 3.5 hours. I slept very well until 3AM then woke up and could not fall back to sleep. Today is casino day and I don't know how I'm going to make it. I am going to be very very tired.

My whole life is all about food and the scale. My friend who lost all that weight said she is having trouble maintaining, too.

Hi friends: managed to fast yesterday just fine. I didn't even have much trouble at supper time. I had not slept well the night before and I had a real nap in the afternoon, so rare for me, so maybe my body was fooled and thought it was more like morning, when I don' t eat anymore. In any case, I got through the evening, my "arsenic hours" just fine. DD and I are driving to the cottage today, and will be back on Monday night. I may check in while there, not sure about that.

CarolL hope you can find a handle for these carb cravings you are having, This is not your usual. When your DH was in hospital, your appetite was low and you seldom got hungry. This is difficult for you, I know and sympathize. I too struggle hard with that.

Have a great weekend friends.

Mad, right now there isn't much besides carbs in the house. I've been using up all the meat I have in the freezer and don't want to buy ahead like I did in the spring. Now the cake, cookies and pie are gone and I'm going to discourage him from buying too much at one time. Normally I can stay away. For some reason on Tuesday night I went to bed craving mashed potatoes. I managed to fall asleep and forget about them but the craving was still there when I got up in the morning. I had a pouch of instant mashed potatoes so I made them and had them for breakfast! Hit the spot. Maybe my potassium was low to make me crave them, but it just made me want carbs all day. If I didn't have that pouch of instant I don't know if I would have cooked fresh potatoes.

I could do carnivore if I was by myself. That way there would be nothing in the house.

All my numbers were up this morning. I probably should have stayed in bed, but that isn't me. I finally remembered that DH had something for my pain in my left side so I took a couple. Then I had a sinus headache so DH gave me one of the Claiiritan D pills that has always helped when my sinuses are real bad. I guess the combo just didn't mix this time or else it has been so long since I ha taken either of them and I got extremely tired and felt bad. The only thing I didn't check was my BS. Any way I went to bed and didn't sleep well at all although I was extremely tired. One good thing is that pain is gone. It had to be a muscle because there are no organs there. I've had that pain one time before and never could figure out what I did to cause it, but I have been doing a lot of exercise and cleaning even some of the things DH usually does instead of me because of the way I have to twist and turn such as getting clothes out of the dryer. So I'm on the mend but won't go to beauty shop tomorrow because it always takes me so long to get this stuff out of my system. I told DS this morning there is no way I could be a drug addict because I hat feeling this way. The sad thing is like she says our addiction is food related. I've been using the walker last night and this morning just as a precaution as I don't want to fall. I am so thankful for my DH since he is able to check my vitals to see if anything bad was going on, but no fever etc. Any way I got up at my regular time and took a shower and washed my hair since I won't be going to the beauty shop tomorrow since it takes a good 2 days to get this junk out of my system. I don't want to drive. I've mostly slept sitting in the recliner this morning.

Weight this morning was 190.4 and BS was 110 but that is all because of the Clairitan D. I seem to remember that is why the doc doesn't like us taking it because it raises BS and I noticed that it raised my BP some too. I guess I will have to stick to the Zertec although it doesn't work quite as well.

Fatmad Glad your fasting day worked out so well. Enjoy your time at the cottage and have a happy Thanksgiving holiday. I thought of you and your DH this morning when I couldn't sleep and prayed for y'all... you for the upcoming liver test and for him because you haven't said anything else about how he is feeling. I hope he is feeling better.

Carol Sue I know how the carbs can call your name. I think you did the right thing by eating the mashed potatoes the next day. I have learned that when I'm really craving something to go ahead and eat it because if I don't, I will eat everything in the house.

I could eat only carnivorous too most of the time. I do have times when I crave meat but I haven't done that in a while. I haven't had anything to eat since around 6 last night. I just didn't feel like cooking this morning and I wasn't hungry this morning. I'm still not, but I figure that qw will have soup today since I don't feel like cooking. I hope your day at the casino goes well.

Well, I am going to take a nap until lunch. Y'all have a great day.

The casino was ok. We didn't lose it all, but didn't win. We stayed late again and I was really hungry. They have all day breakfast so I had eggs and bacon.

Last night I felt like I was getting a cold. Right away I think I'm getting the virus. The feeling was still there this morning. I had a headache, another sign of the virus, and I rarely get a headache. And my chronic cough is different. I don't have a fever though because they check temperatures at both casinos. I hope it's not the virus and I hope I can shake it. When I got home tonight I rinsed my nasal passages in case its sinus. Just in case I will check to see where I can get a covid 19 test and I hope its free. Oh, and my sense of smell and taste are both good, that's another sign of the virus.

I hope you feel better, too, Trish. I take Claritin too but I can't take the D because it raises blood pressure.

I didn't weigh because I slept late and got dressed right away because I have to go to Wal-Mart. I ran out of Glimiperide. Completely. I thought I had more but it must not be on auto fill. I called last night and ordered it and it will be ready today. I also need more fish oil and Target has the one I take.
