We cannot groom our dog. We take him to a groomer and even there DH has to help her so he doesn't bite her. He hates the noise of the clippers. We can bathe him but he hates the hair dryer.

I did laundry today and was up and down the stairs 5 times. DH usually does it but I made up my mind to do it myself. I haven't done the stairs that many times in one day for a long time. I feel so good about this.

Trish, if I didn't hold DHs arm sometimes I think I would be using a walker. I have 2. A silver one that was his mothers, and a red one that has a seat. DH doesn't want me to use one because he says I would get used to it. I would like to use it at the casino.

Today I was watching the news and DH was on the porch. They said the casinos in Misissippi are closed because of the hurricane. DH heard that even from out on the porch and came running in saying "What did they say about casinos closing?". Ha Ha He was scared to death! !

Bonjour Mes Amis!

I didnt even fool with the dog today. He's hiding from me. Its funny. I come one way and he goes another or shrinks down low like I cant see him. I'll leave him be today since I was busy anyway. I am down 1lb today. I'll take it. Considering how much I ate and had 2/3 of a candy bar too. My bff sent me TWO boxes of candy from Australia. All my favourites. I guess he ordered it before I said I was changing the way I eat. Now I have to push it all into the freezer so I dont have the same issue I had last night just sitting there eating chocolate.

I have discovered that when its my phantom TOM (I still have ovaries but no F tubes or uterus) but I still have the hormonal changes its been 4 years now. I said all that to say that I dont like chocolate. I only eat it occasionally when its phantom time. That's how I make the connection. Any other time it makes me want to vomit but that one week a month I am a chocophile. LOL So TWO boxes of candy is supposed to last me 6 months which it does but I usually freeze it right away to avoid the binge. Hard to binge on a frozen chocolate bar if you cant bite it and sucking a candy bar just seems like ...i dont know...fat people stuff to me. So I have decided that during that week of the month I will do like a 20/4...otherwise I'm setting myself up for a bigger problem later. Its a journey. Not a sprint for me. Even more than that its a mental game. I am learning once again how strong I am. I am learning self love, self care and patience.

I havent given autophagy a thought but when I get more into a routine I will try to clean up and tighten up my new habits. I am just trying to stay flexible and not rigid. I do better that way. Then when I feel confident and competent about this way of life then I can fine toon it with the other benefits and how to achieve them.

Patty - Stay the course. I know you will get it all settled. Be kind. I just keep hearing that and its my mantra right now. "Be kind to yourself." So I think its kind of you to look at it the way you did. Its also a healthy and mature way of looking at your weightloss journey. It is an accomplishment to lose weight in these days. So stay consistent. You have your plan and now all you have to do is implement it.

Carol - I'm living my restaurant fantasies through you. I havent eaten in a restaurant since Feb. It doesnt taste the same to me when you get it through take out and eat it at home. I dont know why but its always like that for me. I am looking forward to a good vaccine. I do miss doing things with other adults. lol

Madeleine - 3 times a day! Oh my. Our dog is only 7kg. He is skinny like a little rat dog. He should do 2 per day ....but most of the time he gets a super long walk at night with my DH. I DID walk last night. It went better than I thought. I went unmedicated because it was spur of the moment but I will do it again tonight. I start the walk with them, then cut out on them early and they finish. I hope to build up to the super long walk. But 2-3 times a day is good exercise. I cant even imagine what I will look like at 157. I'm trying not to put too much expectations on it because last time I lost 85lbs I cried because what I saw in the mirror didnt match my imagination. No one had warned me of that but now I know i've aged 10 years and that I will have some loose skin and probably no butt or boobs. But that's what lifts are for!!! LOLZ

ok no more procrastination. I have to go do homework.

A bientot

I love chocolate!

Shaybelle, I am not concerned about restaurants because the ones we go to have people really far apart, and have plexiglass shields between the tables. That might be a mistake but so far so good. We rarely do take out.

Carol Sue I got a real chuckle when I read about your DH hearing the casinos being closed in Mississippi and not hearing where it was. Bless his heart, he really seems to need to be able to go to the casino. That is his thing and he does seem to be good at it. I know it is annoying for you, but he is funny.

My eating went very well today with 1 pt rolling over into tomorrow. I am doing the 16/8 IF ratio. I'm not going to even thinking about doing anything else for now.

Shaybelle I like the reminder of being kind to yourself phrase. I remember one time in another diet group where they said that when we get into a slump that we should stop and think about what we would say to someone else going through the same thing. That is still a good thing to do as many times we are our own worse critique and are harder on ourselves.

Mad I hope your fast went well for you. I have no doubt that you will get back to your routine. It might take you a few days but you will do it.

Goodnight everyone.

Yes, Trish, it was funny that he was able to hear that from outside and come in with a panic look on his face. He is addicted to gambling and I am addicted to eating.

The scale is up to 193.8. I have to stop this. It's getting close to 194 just 1 away from 195. Below 194 sounds like a fluctuation but higher is a gain. My ring is getting tight, that's a sign.

I thought my legs would hurt from doing the stairs so much yesterday but they don't. I took Tylenol in the middle of the night. I haven't taken Tylenol for a few days. I don't want it to become a habit but maybe it helped with my legs.

Trish, I was thinking about your hungries in the evening and I think CAD causes that. When you eat carbs you get hungry sooner. It might be better to keep a more varied meal with protein for later in the day. Just a thought.

down below 156 today. I have a nice supper planned with beef and broccoli stir fry. I think I will do OMAD today and 2MAD tomorrow, and work at having normal sized meals. I had a melt-down last night with a meeting, and left the meeting. I am not sure if my strong reaction was not related to fasting. In the past I have had issues with reactions with low blood sugar, but I have not had real hypoglycaemia since I started fasting regularly and avoiding high carb meals. I did not have other symptoms last night, like the shakiness and feeling physically crummy. I did manage not to eat. DH was kind and supportive. (sometimes he thinks he is "problem solving" and questioning me, and is not really supportive, but last night he was good)

Will see how today goes. I have a moderately busy work day. Plan to come home later afternoon and make supper and have that early.
For now, time to get ready for Buddy's morning walk before I leave the house.

Shaybelle, you are right, the path to more exercise is to be gentle to yourself. Be regular and constant, but I don't think "pushing it" all the time is good for us, it may leave us sore and not wanting to exercise the next day. I get my steps in most days now, but that was not always true.
I am fortunate, my highest weight was 190, so I had less to lose. But I WAS having health effects, with prediabetes and fatty liver disease.
I am so glad that discussion on this group, and looking elsewhere in 3FC lead me to Dr. Fung and fasting. I am still overweight, and perhaps if I can get this Covid19 weight gain off, I can continue and get out of this overweight issue.
The liver has been getting worse, so I am being referred to a gastro-enterologist about that. I suspect its auto-immune with the Celiac and now Sjogren's, so I will likely also get a referral to an immunologist. Fortunately, both of those specialists may be able to do most of their visits virtually, but the wait lists may be long. This is different than in the USA, where cost may affect whether you may get an appointment, or a test, but for us its all covered, but may take longer when its not urgent. Must get some blood tests done today or tomorrow as well.
Have a good day friends.

Fatmad I hope you are feeling better today. I got away from the long fasts because I seemed to have dizziness etc when I do it for very long. That is why I only do the longer fasts when I know I'm going to be home. I just don't want to be out and about with those reactions. Of course, I'm a lot older than you so respond differently now than I did at your age.

Carol Sue It is strange you say that. I actually am not doing CAD any more. I actually planned to do it but I just can't do that any more either. Not sure what my mental block is with that. I seem to lean more to the IE plan of eating only when hungry except that it doesn't fit into IF very well although I am sure IE-ers would say that I don't do IE because I still try to keep my eating window within 8 hrs or less. I wasn't really hungry this morning and I didn't want to cook so I had coffee and a Premier shake. I had an egg salad last night for 3 pts for the Light Mayo but I'm not sure I will do that again as I woke up at 3ish with indigestion and got up for about 30 minutes for it to pass. Ended up sleeping later and FBG was back up to 103 instead of the 99 it had been for 2 days. I know it can fluctuate but I also think it shows me that a meal in the evening even within less than 8 hrs isn't good for me. I just didn't get good sleep although I did sleep. I'm sluggish feeling this morning and having to make myself stay focused on plan.

I am sorry your weight is moving up. I hope we both can get things going in the right direction again soon. I do so want to see the 180s. However, I decided that I have weight 190.8 everyday this week and NO fluctuations so that is a very good sign to me that something good is going on.

I found a recipe for making SF Shrimp cocktail. I was looking at all the SF 0 pts G. Hughes flavors and didn't see one there but evidently he makes a 0pt SF ketchup that I want to get for DH since he eats a lot of ketchup. I can use it with horseradish and Worchestershire sauce and lemon juice to make the cocktail sauce that will be 6 calories/4 g carbs and 0 pts. I bought some tail off frozen shrimp that I want to use for dinner or snack meal but I wasn't able to find low pts cocktail sauce. I'll get the ingredients Friday when I go to the store.

Have a great day dear ones.

Hola Mis Amigos!

Today I am doing homework. I have to get into the habit of sitting at my desk and actually doing my work. Its like I sit here and need to get some things done and I think about "oh let me handle this really quickly" and then 2 hours has gone by. Like right now. I will keep this short. LOL.

DH said he can see the tell tale signs of me losing weight. He says he can tell from a curve in my back and side. He says it always starts there. So he said he can see it starting there now. I was like "really?" and he said yes. I'm down 10lbs (4.5kg) and he's down 8lbs (3.5kgs). I've been doing it for 13 days now and him 10. So he's happy and its keeping him motivated.

Today is much better in terms of hunger. I think it was hormonal but we'll see. I am always better during the day than at night the real test will come after supper but before I fall asleep. I have found that eating cabbage on dd is not good so I wont have cabbage. I just struggled with hunger while eating it. Today I'm doing new england clam chowder, rice and salad and that's my omad. I eat better on down days than I do on up days. crazy. lol

Ok its back to the book. I hope you guys are having a great day and are meeting all your daily goals. I have to get my 10 min walk in with the DH later.

Hasta luego!

Shaybelle Years ago I was on a very strict low carb plan. I let no starchy carbs pass my lips. I could sit and eat a nothing but protein, non-starchy carbs and as soon as I finished eating I was starving. I couldn't understand why. I think one thing I have learned since then especially lately is that I need a little bit of starchy carbs although not large amounts of it. So I can understand how you can be eating cabbage and feeling hungry. I love cabbage but can't eat a lot of it.

I love cooked cabbage and can eat a lot of it but not raw cabbage. I can only eat a small amount of cole slaw and it can't have a lot of dressing on it. We all have different tastes.

Overate again today. I ate the last of the frozen burritos and had a reaction. The roof of my mouth swelled up and stayed like that for 30 minutes. It still feels a little tingly. If it's not gone by bedtime I will take Benadryl.

Tomorrow is casino day and I fast very well on casino day.

Wt is down 1.6 to 192.2. Finally! I was up to the bathroom several times overnight so I figured I'd lose some water weight.

Shaybelle, you have done very well with your losses and so has DH.

Hi friends: steady at 156 today. I only did OMAD yesterday. I didn't get home until after 7 pm, because I worked late attending a birth even though I wasn't on call. Its a beloved repeat client, I was at her first delivery too, and with only half a dozen clients left before I retire, I don't want to miss these beloved people when the timing is good, like daytime deliveries. So I got to stay late. I didn't snack at work, and dithered about eating at all, but decided I would.
Made bacon and eggs, and some raspberries and yogurt for dessert. Happy with myself sticking to plan when I was tired and hungry. This is when I overeat.

Trish: you definitely need to look at the big picture. For years, you have been up and down with plans, but none seemed to stick and true weight loss eluded you. You made a big turn in the last year, were able to stick to plan, and even with change ups, stuck to plan well enough to have real losses that added up. You have never been in Onederland as long as I have known you here at 3FC. You should be really pleased with your progress and what you have learned this year.
Carol: you learned that when you eat your way, you were able to lose weight. Now learning to deal with DH and his way, to merge with yours is a challenge that you can manage.
I have found the challenge of COvid19 and DD living here affected my eating, and its up to me to find my way back to "normal" Getting there again.

Shaybelle and her own DH are also learning new ways to manage weight and BS and starting to see signs of improvement.

Its a great time to hang out here. Hopes and blessings for our other friends and lurkers to find their paths.

Mad, bacon and eggs was a good choice, one I would have enjoyed. You really enjoy your job and your clients! And I agree that this plan is great for Trish and Shaybelle is doing great with JUDDD. I'm looking forward to how Pipsicle is doing with her braces.

I had eggs early and will soon be getting dressed for the casino. Food options are slim there. I was craving meat and cooked a small thin strip steak I had in the freezer. It hit the spot. I have been craving meat lately, for some reason. If you remember, I've had issues with meat not tasting good. This is a welcome change because I think I don't eat enough protein. So when I get this craving I'm going to act on it. I ate a lot of protein in the past when I was thinner. Not carnivore or keto. I will not cut out carbs and veggies. Just try to have protein at every meal.

I dont expect a success at the casino since he did well last week. We'll see.

Shaybelle That is great that you and your DH are dieting together. It does make things so much easier. My DH doesn't need to lose weight but does have to watch blood sugar which no one has figured out why he is 130 to 135 lbs and is diabetic however, I think it was caused from the statins he took for years and he thinks it is also caused from his love of chocolate for years. But he didn't start understanding what I was going through with my diet until he started having to watch his due to blood sugar. Congratulations to both of you for your progress.

Fatmad I know you love being there when the babies are born and you are so good at your job. Congratulations for making good choice of the eggs, bacon and raspberries when you were so tired. That is an accomplishment you can be proud of.

I really hadn't thought about the fact that it has been soo long since I was under 200 lbs. I'm sure that has a lot to do with my stall. I also looked at my monthly records that I keep and this is day 8 of being 190.8 which isn't really all that bad. Plus that has been about how long I've been back on blue plan. WW asks us to give a plan 2 weeks before changing it which makes me remember that years ago when I joined WW for the first time that they said that you needed to be OP for 2 weeks before you see a change because it takes that long for you body to adjust to it. Plus I saw a coach on one of the FB WW groups say that you know you are stalled if it lasts 6 weeks. So I'm far from knowing if I'm really stalled or at and adjustment time with weight loss.

Someone on the over 60s WW FB group asked about doing the Wendie Plan which was created yrs ago by a WW dieter that learned how to break a stall and I went on line and found it yesterday and I can try that to break the stall if I need to. You trick your body so that it doesn't know you are dieting. I always that was pretty much how JUDDD works but never could do it because it doesn't fit DH & my lifestyle. It is easier for me to do IF with 16 to 18 hr fast and I can do it with WW. I was going to start Wendie Plan tomorrow but decided to wait another week on blue plan to see if I am really in a stall or not.

Carol Sue Glad you got a loss and hope it keeps going. Hope your day at the casino goes well and they will have favorable eats for you. I too look forward to hearing how Pipsicle is doing with the new braces.

I changed my WI day back to today because I go back to beauty shop tomorrow and get up so early. I really like to weigh at the same time on WI days so I'm back on my original plan. Unless she changes her mind, DS has decided we are going to Olive Garden tomorrow to celebrate her birthday so DH and I can use our gift card we have never used. That is good since I like to eat higher pts during the first few days of my new week.

Have a good day everybody.

Madeleine - Oooo babies! I miss babies. Not that I want one. I just want to know some ppl who have a baby so I can get my baby fix. lol. Great job on the bacon and eggs. I find bacon a treat. Love me some pork. LOL. Quick, simple and easy. Great job! I always feel so proud when I do it the way I'm supposed to do it. That's dedication right there! I dont feel like cooking for myself but I'm going to anyway.

DH and I are keeping each other accountable. It helps. His t'shirt is already flattening down. How the HECK! It wasnt even his idea. LOL. Well...he really needs to get the belly down and so do I but its the last to go on me and the first to go on him. He's not that heavy he's 5'10" (178cm) and 226lbs (102kg). He's walking around here pants falling down already. I'm like "put a belt on show off!" LOL We laugh and I play him the tiny violin on how baggy his pants got so quick. I told him I'm proud of him. He is religious about his walk. He walked 30 mins with me last night, walked me home, then told me the dog and him need 30 more mins. I was shocked, but I said Ok have fun. I'm not trying to make myself look good and then over do it and be bed ridden for 3 days.

Carol - I suck at gambling and when I do I set aside a specific amount to play with. Then when that's gone I'm done. If I win, then I put my money back in my purse and play with the casino's money. One time my first husband and I went to the casino. I won $60 on nickel slots in the first 30 minutes. I was like "Whelp! I'm done" He looked at me like "really??!!" I was like "Yes. I won my money back and then some. I know when to quit while I'm ahead." He said I was not casino fun. LOL! I liked the buffets back then. I was like "Whelp! Now I'm about to him them up for like $100 at this buffet!" That was in Atlantic City.

Patty - I love cabbage too but I dont like feeling hungrier than normal and my stomach would growl shortly after not to mention the cruciferous curse that comes from eating such after 8pm!

So today for supper is Brown Sugar Garlic Pork Belly with Rice. OMG! I love pork belly and I LOVE my InstantPot. I am an InstantPot Queen! I love dump recipes. I have 2 inner pots so I can cook the meats in one and my rice in the other. I grew up eating rice everyday and so I make it about 6 days a week. 1 cup though at 160 kcals. its that important I'm willing to make room for it each day. Potatoes and bread never stuck. I can never eat them again as long as I could have rice. So I look forward to that. I tried to make Poutine for brunch but well....its potatoes and dairy and well i dont do well with those anyways. So I picked at it. DH loved it though. He hardly ever ate rice but grew up eating bread and potatoes everyday.

Well off to finish my homework.
