Quick flyby as getting ready to leave for beauty shop and quick run to the store. FBG is 126 and weigh 214.6 so down .2 today. I think the bs is higher because of the diet change etc. But it is still moving down again. I am enjoying this way of eating because I'm not having to eat high fat. I've got to find some food to eat for snacks that isn't high fat because I don't think the Slim Jim beef jerky sticks are going to cut it when I get on the shots. I notice that they taste awfully greasy to me last night.

Although I am eating grains at breakfast, I'm eating only 1 egg and 1 sl bacon or CB with it and depending on whether it is a Mc Muffin or taquito I'm finding it very satisfying until I eat again between 3 and 4 pm. I am hoping that whatever is in the shot that curbs my appetite will help me give up the night time eating. My goal is to get back to eating only 2MAD like I have done when I was young and thin. I've tracked my breakfast and our lunch today so far on MFP and if I was able to eat just those 2 meals today my calories would be less than 900 calories. I would love to keep them around 1000 for a while. DS says there are a lot of days she isn't eating more than about 1000 calories. She actually eats what she wants but that is why she is losing as good as she is. I plan to do the same thing.

Better get going. Sorry we are having problems getting everything just right. I do the believe the key to success is not to give up and to do what we can to stay OP or as close to it as possible till we get back on.

Have a great day everybody.

Trish, I always get indigestion when I eat Slim Jims or similar snacks. Maybe when you go to the center they can suggest a snack. Maybe celery sticks. I don't know what they would suggest. What does your sister use?

I tried to log into MFP but it said my password was wrong. I updated my password but it still rejected it and told me to try again in an hour. I will try again, but it should accept my new password.

Huzzah! A Halloween Miracle! The scale was 3 pounds lower this morning, which gives me a 2.5 pound loss for the month. Wow I can hardly believe. It gives me a fighting chance to be a little lower on my weekly weigh-in day. Thank you for all your encouragement!

Carol: hope you didn't have your caps lock key on when putting in the password. Its my number one reason for passwords not working, is that I accidentally hit the caps lock.
Pipsicle, congrats on the Hallowe'end miracle. Finally something feels more fair.
Trish, hope things keep working for you, you seem happy with it.

I managed my fast just fine, in spite of a few temptations.
I was very gentle with myself yesterday, didn't expect much. What with the sugar let down from the night before, DD leaving (only a few tears) and fasting, I did not want to have to worry about anything. DH and I stayed in a watched a movie. I was sure I could not visit with others or go to a movie and stay fasted.

Going to market soon to buy a few things for the day, then to see younger DD an hour away. She has been sick with a cold since her convocation last weekend. Poor kid. ( she is 27, but she will always be a kid to me, LOL)
Hope everyone has a good weekend.
I will weigh again tomorrow, posting a fasted weight is cheating.

Mad, I did check caps lock because that is also an issue for me. Plus I often have 1 capital letter in my passwords. I can get in on my Kindle because my password is saved but once I change it on my pc that will have to be changed.

On the LC forum they always count their fasted weight even though they gain when the break the fast. They don't consider it cheating but they do say that it is fasted weight.

Pipsicle Yay for the whoosh! I have heard that fat cells hold water until they are sure the fat is gone then they release it. It sure is encouraging to see!!

We still have a lot of candy left over but I'm hoping I can stay away from it as long as I don't eat the first piece. We only got 2 kids. Lots of the neighbors did not participate, probably because we get so few. Years ago it was literally a steady stream.I stood at the door with the candy bowl for 2 hours straight. Now those kids have moved away and have kids of their own. The beat goes on.

This morning the scale was the same as yesterday. Hoping I can make it through today. Already had one victory by not giving into a craving. However, on the flip side I ate more than I wanted to avoiding the craving. Calorie total was still less than if I had given in. Fingers (and toes!) crossed that I can make good choices the rest of the day.

Pipsicle CONGRATULATIONS on your weight loss. I knew it would come. Sometimes it just takes time. It is nice when we have those to build on.

Carol Sue I can get into MFP but still cannot set my own ratio of the nutrients. So I just log my food and not worry about things that go in the red. They have my protein and fat too low and my carbs too high. I think they are having a lot of problems. I haven't decided that I want to start anything new since I will be able to use the bariatric solutions app.

Mad Glad you were able to fast. I know it was hard to see DD leave but she will have a good time. Are y'all planning a trip to meet up with her somewhere while she is gone? The way time flies she will be back.

FBG was 125 so it is coming back down slowly with the new way of eating but it is coming down. I didn't weigh today because I got up very early. I need to stop weighing everyday and I would like to just weigh when I go for shots once I start going. I don't know if I can wait that long to weigh again but I am going to try. My DGS is a plumber and he needed someone to keep my DGGS while he works because his wife is out of town. So he is on call starting at 8 am in the morning so since that is too early for me to weight, I will use these 2 mornings to start not weighing every morning.

I haven't had little kids around for me to take care of in so long that it is like learning all over. Thank God, DS gave me a lot of her DGS toys that he had out grown. She said she has some more for me. I hope to be having this little fellow around more often. I am going to enjoy this because I had to practically raise his Daddy so didn't get to spoil him much when he was this age because his Mama was always moving back in or leaving him with me for me to make him mind. I won't have that kind of relationship with this child. I will have the pleasure of enjoying him. He is such a sweet child like his Daddy was.

Y'all have a good day.

Good for you for keeping the loss, Pipsicle!!

Trish, I'm glad you are enjoying the little boy. That's what dggs's are for.

I finally did well on my eating today. I had eggs with no bread this am. We went to Texas Roadhouse at 3, which was early. I ordered smothered chicken, a grilled breast with mushrooms and jack cheese. Carrots and broccoli and baked sweet potato. I ate a few bites of everything and brought it home. I hope to eat it tomorrow. It was all very good. It felt good not to be stuffed. I paid attention to how my body felt.

DH is very angry about not going to the casino but I have the right to a choice sometimes. I haven't said no to him for a very long time. Now he will probably want to go tomorrow. LOL

I wanted to comment on losing long posts. You can submit your post with each paragraph then go back and edit to add more.

Or once you lose the post, if you go to type it over, look down to the bottom left of the posting window and it will say "restore saved content". the posts are saved as you type and this will restore all or most of your lost post.

I had a ball getting to know my little great grandson and loved watching him and DH on the piano. He is going to love music as much as his DD and me and DH was teaching him some of the notes. Then he liked putting on the earphones and playing it where only he could hear the sound. He is a very smart little fellow. I am going to try to always give him healthy foods. He saw the apples I had and said "I like apples" so he ate one. I fixed him peanut butter and jelly sandwich and gave him mandarin orange. I made a big deal about how good he smelled and he wanted to smell it and ate. He was so cute when I was talking on the phone with DS when she called. He wanted to ask me a question so he walked in front of me and stood and raised his hand. I asked him if he wanted to talk to me and he shook his head yes. Someone has taught him very well. Do I sound like one of those grandparents? LOL Not sure I will see him tomorrow as DGS said although he is on call, he said Sunday is usually quite. He said he had only had 1 call on a Sunday when he was on call.

Carol Sue You did very well at the restaurant. I'm sorry your DH was so unhappy about not going to the Casino. Maybe he will want to stay home and watch football. One can only hope.

I actually did well. I ate half a pb sandwich just to take my pills this morning. I wasn't hungry when I feg DGGS lunch although I did eat 1 mandarin orange since it smells so good when I peeled it. I didn't actually eat again until we ate dinner after DGS and DGGS left. So far it as a great eating day.

Trish, DH watches all football but mainly the Steelers. They play at 1 tomorrow and that is when we usually leave for the casino. But he is not a die hard fan so he would easily miss it. It is really funny, because his brother calls him and they watch the game together over the phone. His brother won't come here because the dog barks and growls at him. If he would come once in a while the dog would get used to him. The dog got used to step daughter and her husband. I will just tell him I don't want to go and stick to it. I think I am trying to convince myself.

FBG 112. Wt 189. I don't want to go so far as to say I had a 5 lb whoosh but instead I think the 194 was a fluke somehow. I don't actually feel different. I'm glad I didn't really gain all that back. Is it ok to be happy that I only gained 10 instead of 15?

I was awake a long time last night. I took the tart cherry but not the Tylenol Arthritis. I am trying to stop the Tylenol. So I just slept a little longer.

Trish, why is 8 am too early for you to weigh? I weigh as soon as I get up before I have coffee.

Ahh Carol, hope you get your way if that's important to you. I think its funny he won't go without you.
Trish: its great you are enjoying this little fellow so much. Go ahead and wax poetic about how great he is, be one of "those" grandparents. Love is never wrong. Keep loving him and being a terrific influence in his young life. It never gets boring.
Weight this morning is 156 so total 1 pound down after fast. I did not quite stick to plan, had some gluten free sweet treats for my birthday that DH bought.
They are gone now, and so is the temptation. Will work on sticking to plan today, and fast again tomorrow. We have a concert tonight with friends. Its in another town an hour away. Our friend did not invite us to stay over, so I hope we will be ok driving home since it will be an hour later in our bodies. I may take my CPAP nonetheless just in case, and we can get a hotel room if needed. Will also try to nap this afternoon before we go. Time changes are always hard. I know people like the "extra" sleep with this one, but its hard if you have to stay up to a certain time too. As I get older I find all sleep disturbances harder to manage. I woke up in the middle of this night last night and had trouble getting back to sleep for a couple of hours, and slept on the couch when I got back to sleep, since I came downstairs to read to avoid disturbing DH. First crummy sleep in a couple of weeks I think, but feeling crummy right now.
Will try to get out for a walk in a bit.

Have good day friends.

Mad, it is a long drive for him to go alone. I wouldn't want him to. We hardly ever go anywhere without each other. People mention that it you see one of us the other is nearby.

I got mixed up on when your birthday actually was, so even if it is belated. I hope you had a nice day. I think I would stay in a hotel rather than drive home late at night. We get offers for free/low cost rooms at the casino but can't stay because of the dog. I hate that long drive home. We dont have anyone we can trust to take care of the dog and he is wary of strangers.
