Trish how do you make your Tea and Crystal light? I want to make something different to drink but should have done it in the summer when it was hotter. I have bottled water and also flavored sparkling water. I will drink some hot green tea now that it's getting colder. I love hot tea on a cold night and I have some decaf.
I have been putting some peroxide in my ears then rinsing with warm water and they have not been itchy all day. I hope that is helping. They don't hurt at all which is strange but were very itchy.
DH got a pizza for dinner and I ate 1 slice. There is half a pizza left but we don't want it. We told my SiL to come for it because step daughter is working but I guess he doesn't want it either.
Carol Sue I buy the Crystal Light that I make into a 2 quart pitcher. As for tea, I buy the cold brew Luisian Tea and make a pitcher of it and keep all that in the fridge so DH can just go in and get it. I have a small pitcher that I make green tea in and I can just go in and either pour a cup in the morning and heat it or make a cold glass of it in the evening.
Trish: the yogurt maker comes with 7 small glass cups to make the yogurt in. (the glass was a selling point, and the lids are silicone, so no plastics)
but they hold not quite 2 ounces. I want to make a bigger amount. I found a shallow glass bowl that holds slightly more than a cup of fluid, and I am going to try a batch tonight using that. I left mine over 12 hours, not just the 8 recommended. I also used a good quality locally made yogurt for my starter, and I used a whisk to stir the 2 tablespoons into the cream. I did not warm up the cream first, since it was fresh out of an unopened container. Because it was cold, that's why I left it longer in the yogurt maker. Anyhow, worked well. I am only going to make plain yogurt. I can add flavours afterward.
Have a good night friends. Doing laundry before we pack tomorrow.

Mad, my yogurt maker has glass jars with lids, too. I don't use it anymore but kept it for the nice glass jars.
Trish, I really misunderstood. I thought you were mixing the Crystal Light with the tea! LOL
I have some Crystal Light in little packets that you put in bottled water. One of these days in will try it in sparkling water for something different.
Just going to rant a little before we go off on our trip. I had 3 42 hour fasts in the last 9 days. And today my weight is 150.
I have not once gone below that, even to 149.9
A little frustrating. I know I did not eat Keto, but I don't normally eat keto. Not sure what the deal is here, but I did expect a little better.
Well, I will NOT be able to weigh for a couple of weeks. I hope to be moving and walking lots, at least an hour every day. And maybe some dancing as well.
But I am not seeing the changes I was hoping for.
I will also do my blood work when I return.
So here's hoping. I will check in sporadically. I will have internet at all our places to stay, so no worries.
Have a great week everyone

Mad, I'm sorry you have not seen the 149 number you wanted. I agree that it doesn't make sense to not eat but still not lose. Our bodies fight us every step of the way. Hope you enjoy your trip!
FBG was 97 early today. Stomach is growling. I love that feeling. Today is senior breakfast day. I can't decide if I want to go. If I don't tell DH he will sleep too late to go. I want to go to Target and to the bank, and that's all near the buffet. We'll see..
Mad I'm so sorry you aren't seeing 149. I hope things start going down soon. Perhaps your body is in an adjustment period. I really understand all this weight loss stuff. Enjoy your trip and maybe things will shake up or maybe I should say shake down.
Carol Sue Your FBG is really good even using the G.
FBG was 113 this morning. Very good since it has been in the 130s up to 135 a few days. I actually tried eating only when I was hungry yesterday and ate what I wanted. I even ate the bun on the CB we got from McDs. I'm going to try this for a few days and see what happens. DS lost another lb. So it looks like she might be down to a 1 lb a week time now. She says she doesn't follow the diet they have for her. She uses it for a guideline, but eats what she wants and counts the calories eating what she likes. She told me she had a baked potato the other day with the stuff she wants on it and it was really good. I've tried to be so perfect with what I do and don't eat but I've decided to change it up and see what happens.
I actually had oatmeal this morning. I never eat a whole serving only half with blueberries, a T crunchy PB and my yogurt and my coffee. Going to have a salad later today with Stoffer's lasana and a salad. Will see how that goes. I decided to take all 6 pills at once this morning since it is supposed to be a once a day serving. I haven't had any problems with these pills and don't expect to now. That also fits me being able to eat as often or as little as I want taking them this way.

Trish, I am happier if I eat things that I like and within calorie limit and eating window. If I eat what I think I am supposed to eat I end up craving other things. I will add that I do watch carbs. Mostly it's just bread. There was a woman on the LC forum who said potatoes are a vegetable and a whole food, not like processed foods like bread and pasta. I tend to agree and will eat a small amount of potato sometimes. So I will not get into ketosis and I'm ok with that. I was eating everything when DH was in the hospital but in a small window, and I lost well and had great blood sugar.
We did go to the breakfast buffet. The phone rang and woke him up. It was a telemarketer. DH said a few bad words and hung up. Ha Ha!!
We went to Target and the bank, and got most done that I wanted. Target was terrible. Lots of empty shelves. I don't think they do well with Wal-Mart across the street. They carry the fish oil I want and Wal-Mart doesnt. They only had 1 bottle left and I wanted 2. They had no store brand left of Tylenol Arthritis and only 2 bottles of brand name. I can get that next time I'm at Walmart. I saw a lot of empty spaces. I don't know if they can't afford to order of it they don't have enough stockers but empty shelves tend to drive customers away.

This am FBG was 107. I know this is accomplished with G but I am handling it better than I did in the past, with diet and timing of meds. I used to be afraid to take G in the evening. It does not work fast. I could take it 1 hour before meals with better results. If I take it with meals BS still spikes. And it will still be high 2-3 hours later. Then it suddenly drops very quickly.. So many times when it is still high i am tempted to take more but that gets me in trouble. This is why I test so often and during the night. It works for me.
My ears are improving. as soon as I feel the itch coming I do the peroxide rinse. I am only doing it about twice a day now. Online it says that this helps rinse out any bacteria that could be causing the problem. I don't think it is an inner ear infection because it does not hurt, just itch. I no longer use the hydrocortisone cream because it would stop the itch for a short time then come back. It didn't seem to be getting the irritant out of my ears. It's odd that it is both ears. I wonder if the gout meds were causing this. I stopped the meds to see what would happen. I started back taking the tart cherry supplement. I will give this a chance before I go to the doc. I am not having any dizziness with this.
My stomach felt empty and growling again this morning. I consider that a good sign. It means I am eating less. I was also hungry at dinner time last night. No lunch. I am no longer eating any salty snacks anymore. They are another thing that doesn't interest me. That's a good thing. I think DH is dieting because he isn't buying chips or snack food. Still buying cookies, though, to have with his coffee. If this hungry feeling continues I might get on the scale over the weekend. I get too depressed when the scale doesn't move. A 1lb loss would be great!
Might make my meat loaf today. Maybe if I get really hungry the meat will taste good. Roast is on sale again this coming week so maybe I will try that again.

Carol Sue Glad to hear the ears are feeling better and I hope they continue to improve. Maybe eating will be easier on you if DH is dieting. I sure have been hungry for some oatmeal cookies I get from $Tree, but won't go buy them. I just don't trust myself to have them in the house. Tried buying them at the regular store but the went in the trash because I didn't like them. Strange how that works. A lot of foods just don't interest me these days. Some days I don't think I would cook if I didn't have to cook for DH. Nothing sounds good right now. I wonder if it is the pills I'm taking.
This has been a blah day for me. Not sure why. Maybe because my youngest step-son I raised is in surgery right now getting his shoulder repaired. He should have had it done 4 yrs ago and I just hope he didn't wait too long. Wish I could be there but couldn't so just praying for him waiting for his wife to let me know when he comes out. It is an outpatient surgery so he will be home tonight. I talked to him this morning before he headed to the hospital.
I've eat oatmeal the past 2 mornings and enjoyed it. I checked BS reading 2 and 3 hrs after. FBG was 135 this morning after 118 (I think) yesterday. Made soup out of the leftover roast, potatoes and carrots so that is probably why. BS reading 2 hrs aft oats was 167 (according to my diabetic book should be less than 160) but at 3 hrs it was 135 which was good since it should be under 140. Didn't like the 167 but that might have been the apple I cut up and cooked in it. Maybe next time I will try half an apple. I usually use blueberries or strawberries. Oatmeal is so good for lowering cholesterol and I cut it back to half a serving so it doesn't raise my BS. I surely did like the apple in it so I hope half an apple will work. Funny thing is I'm not really that fond of apples but I like it in oats.
Lunch will be tilapia and I've got some yellow/zucchini squash in fridge I bought already cut up that I need to steam before it goes bad. I'm tired or regular salad so I think I'll make a salad minus the lettuce today in Light Italian dressing. Just can't get really interested in cooking the past few days. I wanted to make some chili but it isn't cool enough right now for chili. It is supposed to be 67 degrees Saturday so might try it then although the sodium might mess up my Sunday WI day.
I'm taking all 6 of those pills at one time now instead of spreading them out with no problem. I heard yesterday on YouTube that if you don't have enough Vitamin C in your system that you can't lose weight. I found that interesting since they told me at the Bariatric center to take Vitamin C.

Trish, I don't think your BS is going that high because it comes down quickly. Mine takes forever to come back down.
For some reason I have so much energy today. I have 2 loads of clothes to be washed because there are a lot of summer clothes to put away for winter. I have a pile of jeans to go to Goodwill. They are too small. I'm tired of them taking up so much room. If I lose that much weight on will buy new. I went up and down the cellar steps no problem. No pain, no sob. Still more to do.
DH never says he's dieting but i just notice he is eating less junk food. He still wants his meals and still likes to go out to eat so it's no different for me. We have been eating dinner earlier. We are done now at 4pm. But DH always eats in the evening. A sandwich, or cereal. He loves cereal but never for breakfast. He likes pancakes or French toast for breakfast and occasionally eats the eggs he cooks for me. For dinner We had a ground meat dish that he likes and i enjoyed it. So if I'm hungry the food tastes better. I also would not cook if DH wasn't here especially dinner, and I would be thinner.

FBG 112. I don't have the hunger feeling this morning. I didn't sleep very well, tossed and turned. That might be why. I was a little cold. In colder weather I put a tee shirt under my nightgown. I had it on but got too hot so I took it off. Then I got cold later on. I can't sleep if hot, ,but not if too cold, either.
I only got 1 load of laundry done yesterday. I would like to stay home and do the other one today. We will see. He WILL stay home if I insist but I usually don't insist. I spoil him.
I got up this morning and headed out to the store. I go to the beauty shop for a perm tomorrow afternoon at 2pm and didn't want to go to store that late after I'm done. So I went to the store that is closest to us. I have gotten used to the other one as it has better selections in some things because there are people in that area that eat more health food like. But I got what I needed so we are fine. I didn't buy any meat and have nothing out today. I didn't eat or drink anything before I left and really wasn't hungry when I got back. I looked at a lot of different things to buy to eat at the store but it just didn't look good. DS says the pills are working and that I am now going to be careful to be sure to eat enough food.
I came home and ended up eating a half PB sandwich just to take all my pills and drank a cup of coffee. I'm glad the pills are taking affect but I am going to have to figure something out because my DH has to eat. He doesn't need to lose any weight. He loves soup and since we married I've always made him eat one healthy meal a day and I just have never thought can soup is all that good for you as often as he would eat it. However, a bowl of that lentil soup I bought today sure sounds good today. I might make us a small pizza a piece. Will see what he thinks when he is ready to eat.
FBG was 130 and weight was 214.2. So I'm glad to see that the weight is not going up and the bs is coming down although not all that fast. I forgot to check bs before I ate. Oh well.
Carol Sue I was wondering if y'all would end up going to the casino today or perhaps tomorrow. It is always interesting to hear what y'all are doing.

Oh, so interesting! LOL. We went and it was horrible. There is usually a construction hold up on the highway but today, a drive that usually takes us 1.5 hours took 3.5 hours. We sat for 1 full hour with the car shut off. Some people got out of their cars and were sitting on the guard rail. It got so hot sitting in the car. When we finally got moving it was really slow single file. Then when we got there DH lost his money so fast. We were not planning on eating there but we got free buffets that we were not expecting so we took advantage of the free dinner. On the way home our side of the highway was moving fast but we could see the traffic was just sitting for miles on the other side of the highway the way we had come. There were some police cars there but they were not helping traffic move. What a day. I am so glad to finally be home. Once again DH said we are not going for a while. Ha ha ha ha ha!!
It sounds like your pills are really working and you will not have to go for the shots. You can just make something for DH when you are not hungry. I wish I could do that for DH.
Hi friends: our trip is going well but I am glad we are someplace for a couple of days and less driving.
We had a nice time out with my cousin and his mother, my auntie. Auntie is 86, the age my Dad was when he died. She is very frail now. We went out for supper. It was not a great supper. On Tuesday before we left we had wings from a place that promised a gluten free fryer for them. I had not reaction to gluten, but they were not great wings, not worth the price. Then Wednesday night out with Auntie the supper was also not great. And she grabbed the bill I was planning to pay. Could not get it back. SO I sent flowers today to thank her.
My cousin brought his teen son as well. The young man is very nice, but quite shy. He aspires to be a customs officer, but needs to learn english. (They are all french-Canadian, only my cousin speaks a bit of english, so I was using my not so great french, but its family and no judgement on my accent or my ability to speak french) . Young Anthony is so shy about the little bit of english he knows. My cousin suggested he come and stay with us to learn english. This kid is so shy I can't see it happening, but I said he would be welcome and talked about how we would do it, enrolling him in english classes and then speaking english in the home. I think it could work if he hung out in the community and played basketball and hockey with the kids in our housing complex. With boys his age I think he would talk a bit more and joke around, and that would be successful. We will see if it comes to pass.
Last nights supper was great and our bed was comfy. I have been sleeping quite well lately, even given the travel etc.
Today we had a good hike, up hill a lot to the summit of an old volcano. I managed about 30-45 minutes of walking on the driving days, because I needed to walk, but 90 minutes of strenuous hiking is different and felt great. DH did well, so far his feet are doing well, so we will walk about town for a while this afternoon.
Carol: I wonder if Target will do ok. They had a disastrous try to start up in Canada a few years ago, opened and closed within a year. Many locations. That may have put strain on the corporation as a whole. Then direct competition with Walmart is enough that any store can't handle. I am happy if you are doing well with eating windows. Thats been hard while travelling for me.
Trish: I am glad you are not gaining and are happy with your BS. Hope things keep going well.
I will check in again in a few days, stay well everyone
