Thanks Carol Sue. I did remember to take some potassium along with the Lasix and I also have some Zero Power aide that I'm drinking too. I agree about the fat too. I still use butter etc but I just don't use lowfat or FF products. I read about the ingredients in the pills I'm taking and it doesn't say anything about them causing swelling so I'm thinking I got in some of the processed food I've eaten and I have to be sure not to eat a lot of high sodium processed foods. Also I need to be sure and drink plenty of water each day.

You think your DH will really want to go to the other casino? That was nice that they gave you a shirt.

I've had a good eating day so I hope it will become a habit.

Yes, Trish, he will want to go to the other casino but I don't know how long that will last. We used to go there often but they got rid of the slots that he liked and he never wins. I could never find one I liked either, but he is the reason we go. I wish he would get tired of casinos altogerher. In the past he would say we are never going to casino 1 and we would start going to casino 2 but after a couple weeks he would go back to casino 1.

The reason I keep worrying about your sodium going low is because of the time my BIL's sodium went low and he started having seizures. H e took a med that lowered his sodium plus was eating low sodium products. Just be careful.

Carol Sue I appreciate your concern about my sodium. DH has plenty of Lasix and I don't think I will take the other one. I always worried about Lasix because DH#2's aunt took too much Lasix and they said she had memory problems from it. However, she might have just had dementia. I still cook with sodium and DH watches to be sure that I do. I don't want another trip to the hospital dehydrated as well as I don't want to have to go to the hospital to have a Lasix IV either. So I will be very careful. The one thing I always like about low carb is that I really didn't have to worry about the swelling. My Daddy told me this morning that my Mama had problems with swelling, but it is strange that he doesn't realize that he is on Lasix daily so he has that problem too. But then he its a lot of chips etc that I don't eat any more.

I was sleeping so good this morning and the phone rang and woke me. It was on the land phone and at that time of day it is a telemarketer since we only have that phone for DH DGS and DD to call us on and they don't call until much later in the day. I got up and dressed and came in and put the coffee on and got our pills ready and then called Daddy. Checked FBG and it was 138. I guess that is from all the meds etc. Weight was 214.2 so that is still good. Feeling a little nausea this morning. Wondering if that is the Liiipotropic pills since DS told me she gets nauseous from the shot sometimes. Not sure if I will have breakfast or not.

I deleted MFP account and when I started a new account it automatically made my email address my name. It isn't allowing me to change anything as for as my calories etc, so they have my calories at 1200 and carbs set too high and protein and fat too low. I suppose when I'm there a while they will allow me to change it as I assume it is just that they figure me as new on there. The nice thing about this is that I am able to start over with foods that I eat so I'm going to try to keep my personal foods I eat at a minimum. This is nice since I shop at TX stores now instead of SC. One thing I do see on yesterday's log is that I do not eat near enough fiber which just might be why I don't lose weight and might be why bs isn't as good as at other times. I'll try to use this more wisely than before.

The thing I see that I need to do is figure out how to eat fairly low carb but also eat enough fiber.

Have a nice day.

Trish, I want to start getting more fiber too in the form of more veggies. And I want to try the bread at Aldis.

I got on the scale and I'm up to 190. I could feel the gain and have been out of control so I'm not surprised. That is a 4-5 lb gain. That's not a lot but when you consider what we go through to get a 4-5 lb loss, it is. I am not looking for sympathy or excuses because I knew I was doing it. Just being acountable. I will get it back off, but wish I didn't have to. I know of people who stick to plan 100% but still can't lose. I am not like that. If my weight goes up I know it is because I overate.

DH and I talked about eating again, and he said don't worry about him he will eat when he wants and I don't have to eat, too, but he doesn't mean that. That will last 1 day. I told him the only thing I want is to be thin. He named so many things he wants and they all cost money. My wants are all within my grasp and are relatively low cost. I told him if I could be thin again I would willingly go anywhere. Maybe that will make him help me. I know I cannot blame this on him but he does not make it easy.

Have to get the dog ready to go to the vet.

Carol Sue I'm sorry about the 4 - 5 lb gain. I understand exactly how you feel 100% because I feel the same way. I feel like I just recycle the same lbs all the time and it is time for me to stop it. There must be something that I need to change so I went on line and typed in low carb and high fiber diets and came up some sites with info which I am going to check out later. I will share the links if I see anything really helpful.

I am thoroughly convinced there are some foods fruits, veggies and grains that we actually need or at least I know that I do. So I hope I can find some helpful info out there. I still believe we will find our path. The key is for us not to give up.

Vet visit was over in minutes. Weighed him gave him a shot and we were on our way. He did not want to get on the scale. I know how he feels!! DH had to force him. I was laughing. He also had a gain. LOL I was procrastinating on this vet visit so now I'm glad it's over. Next is his haircut then he will be ready for the holidays. He got to sniff noses with 2 other little dogs and he seemed to enjoy that little bit of socialization. Remember, he came from a home with 60 dogs and now it's just him. I would like to get another but I know DH would say No!

I still say I am back to .eating too much. I know this. Today I did not eat until dinner at 3:45. My food tasted good. Having my food not taste good did not help.me lose. When I reread this book i will share what was said. I got sidetracked reading online about how black coffee helps induce autophagy. A woman posted a link. When I googled I found article after article. It's fascinating. When I used to do IF before I even knew what it was I drank coffee because it kept me from getting hungry. Weight loss was easy back then. I was very focused. It says it can be decaffienated, but has to be black. I just can't drink coffee after noon. I want to be there again.

Carol Sue That is funny your little dog not wanting to weight. LOL

Yes please share what you find in the book that might be helpful to me as well. I am trying to get back to my 8 hr eating window along with getting back on low carb and adding more fiber to it. I didn't eat breakfast until 11am and I'm having an Atkin's snack bar now with a few pecans so I can be finished by 7pm and meet the 8 hr eating window today. I would also like to work toward 2 meals a day again too.

I read and printed out info I found online for low carb/high fiber diet. Not much different from what we already know. One of the breakfasts it suggested was 2 eggs made with 1 c of veggies. The problem I would have with that is that if I ate 1 c of veggies in an egg omelet it would have to be made with only 1 egg. I just can't eat a 2 egg omelet. However, a 2 egg omelet with maybe 1/2 a c would work. I have the same problem with all sample diets by the fact they suggest more food than I want at one time. I did find a left over portion of a beef roast in the freezer and cooked it and added some baby potatoes and carrots to it and we had that for lunch and it actually tasted good. I wish I could get DH to eat casseroles because there some really good ones I could cook in the crockpot. I do better putting on a meal in the crockpot and it being ready when it is time to eat. Oh well.

I never did do the bike exercises today or yesterday. I just didn't have the energy to do it. I hope I can get a good nights sleep tonight and get back to it tomorrow. I did finally get my folding clothes folded and put away. I'll was towels and put those away tonight before bedtime so all the wash will be done.

I didn't eat all the snack. I only had half the snack bar and a little less than half the nuts I had set aside to eat. I hope this feeling stays as I have no desire of anything else to eat so far.

TT

I looked in 2 Aldi's and neither had the zero carb bread so I bought the 45 calorie bread. It is lower net carb like the Sara Lee. I was also looking at the double fiber bread in Wal-Mart and might try that sometime. I remember you used to buy that, Trish. It is higher calorie than the SL.

I love finely chopped veggies mixed with my egg, too, Trish but I agree 1 cup would be too much, and I don't like cheese with it so it wouldn't be an actual omlette. When I have extra peppers I chop them up small and freeze them. Then when I want them in my eggs I just take some out of it I need them for in chili.

I think.I still ate too much for dinner. I get it in my head that I didn't eat all day and then I eat past satisfaction. Then I don't feel good. But at least I think I ate less than it I had eaten 2 meals. I won't do OMAD everyday but needed that fast after yesterday.

This book is about longevity.not weight loss but those who follow their guidelines have less obesity. One thing it recommends is lower animal protein. Not vegetarian or vegan though, just smaller portions. It compares the diets of people in countries with the oldest people. They eat less meat because it is expensive and they eat more veggies. Some eat a lot of sweet potatoes. High fiber. They have less disease than countries that eat more meat. Lower rates of heart disease and cancer. They recommend lower calorie by fasting. And fasting promotes autophagy. I will read the book again as some parts were hard to understand. I am getting toward the end.

FBG is 106 Wt is down 1 lb to 189, so back in the 180s. Looks better than 190s. I feel less bloated today.

I had a nice breakfast. Scrambled eggs with the crust from DHs French toast. I think I will try to limit starchy carbs to once a day. I don't have toast every day with my eggs and will omit it on days I'm going to have pasta for dinner, for example. And only 1 carb at a meal. When I have pasta I will include veggies to make it more filling. I bought a jar of Alfredo sauce yesterday. I tend to forget to make that. I cook small pasta like ziti. Add some chicken breast, broccoli flouerettes and baby carrots. With precooked chicken it is a quick meal and something DH will.eat. I don't know if I could make Alfredo from scratch. Great Value is good and costs $1.50. Home made would be healthier. Maybe some day I will try.

I like being able to eat all foods, some just in small quantities and feel like a normal eater.

Carol Sue Glad you are back in the 180s. I like being able to eat a starchy food once a day as well. I think I will go back to the using my version of CAD. This article I read yesterday suggested eating mostly veggies and protein and very little starches. I am trying to go back to 2 meals a day within 4 or 5 hrs apart. I'm also working on drinking black coffee this morning as well.

I'm back to making Saturday my WI day since that has been my WI day for years. FBG was 129 and weight was 212.4 this morning. I don't think I will track on MFP because I have wait until after midnight to make changes on there when I change the food I'm eating. I also want to be able to eat less calories on day I want to. I do like checking the sodium and fiber though.

I've decided to make tacos today and I want to get the stuff this next week to make spaghetti one day. I always weigh it out so we only eat a serving. I want to talk to DH about eating some casseroles too. I want to start cooking some easy foods that can be cooked in the crock pot.

Have a good day.

OMG Carol Sue. Is he wanting to go to the one y'all usually go to or the one closest to y'all. Looks like you will get some reading done. Hope you have a good day any what.

Just checked on MFP and they are down for maintenance so something is going on with their website.

Trish, he wanted to go to the original one but I told him no and we are not going. He thought we had the free buffet but we do not. I am really angry with him for this. I don't feel like I can believe anything he says. I will get over it.

Hi all: last real holiday day here in the East. Today we are in New Brunswick and visited former neighbours. That was delightful. They have successfully lost weight and live an active lifestyle, so it was nice to share a healthy meal but no pressure to overindulge. We mostly enjoyed visiting.
A night in the hotel, and tomorrow will see how long we can drive before we have to stop overnight. Its a bit much to plan for just one long day of driving though.
I too do not want to be weighed. Im with the dog on that one. It will take a month to lost the weight I put on, I am sure.

Mad, you sound so happy and relaxed! So even if you are up a bit in weight, you are enjoying this trip. It sounds like you have not really overindulged and have been walking a lot, and you will lose any gain you might have had.

FBG is 140 but wt is down another lb to 188. So my gain is coming off. I hope I can continue this.

DH and I both tossed and turned half the night so slept late until 10AM which is late for both of us.

I started rereading this book yesterday, going slower now to be sure I understand what is being said. It is about longevity. The discussion now is about how calorie restriction promotes longer life. . Children need lots of calories because they are growing, forming their vital organs, muscles etc. But adults are finished growing and only need enough to repair and maintain. But we know that calorie restriction in the case of starvation does not bring good results. It is important to lower calorie intake with an emphasis on nutrition. We need less volume but with all the necessary nutrients. As you can imagine, different forms of IF are going to come into play.
