panda nice drop!! you are doing great!

momtopands Thank you!! What a great way to start off the week for you! I have noticed the same thing when I was eating at the lower end of my calorie range.

slimmerme keep up the good work!!

ophelia I hope that you get some answers. I do take a couple of medications, but this started happening back in 2012 when I was not on them, so I am not sure it is related. I went years without having an episode and then they started back up again. I was actually wondering if a BP drop was the culprit. My normal BP is 106/66, so its possible. I get up, take about 15-20 steps and then get really lightheaded (I call it dizzy, but I don't actually have a spinning sensation) and then everything kind of fades to black, my lips tingle and body starts shaking. Lasts about 10 seconds and then I am fine. A handful of times I fall down even if I am grabbing on to something I cant steady myself. I bet you are going to be able to get off of that medicine, you are doing AMAZING!!! You are smart to listen to your body and move your fasting day!

ange waving hi!!

ange82much: I'm hoping we have it figured out now, so fingers crossed that will remain an isolated incident!

kfunk: That sounds very similar to what happened to me, aside from the tingling lips! I wonder if it was low blood pressure for you, as well...that's what the doctor thinks mine was all about. I explained it below, but - basically - he thinks my medication dose is too high now that I've lost some weight and was inadvertantly overdosing on it, because my charts were never fully updated as I've lost weight. It makes sense, and - if pressures get too low - you can eventually pass out. If you're able to, I'd check your blood pressure the next time you get a lightheaded spell and see if its lower than normal, since your pressure is naturally on the lower end of normal. The spells are definitely not pleasant, even when they pass quickly.

momtopands: Hope TOM comes soon so it can hurry up and end for you, lol.

Slimmer Me: Nice loss!

---------------------------------

Weigh-in was about the same, just down a smidge to 187.6 today. I did a 3 mile walk last night, but just took it a bit slower than normal. I only got in one 2.2 Liter bottle and probably will only get in one today, so I'll be focusing extra on that this weekend. Calories were low again yesterday, just above the thousand mark again, so that may be why I've kind of been hanging around the same weight the past couple of days...just haven't been very hungry. I think I'll be getting back into my normal range tonight though, so hoping that gets the scale moving again soon. There's a small chance that they may be letting my husband come home this evening to get a shower since he has 24 hour duty at the battalion tomorrow before heading back out to the field, so I'll probably stay home tonight to be here just in case, but I have a super busy day out with the kids tomorrow doing an Easter egg hunt for our youngest and going to an animal appreciation day at the park afterward, so I'm sure I'll be able to make up my steps then.

As for the medical update stuff, my doctor only had a couple of the fasted labs back yesterday, so he will be calling me about the others as those come in if anything looks amiss there. However, he was going over my chart and my medications and - especially since my potassium levels were normal at the ER - he thinks that the most likely culprit is my blood pressure medication. I've been on the exact same dose since 2014, so he thinks - now that I've lost a significant amount of weight and my chart was never fully updated - I was inadvertently overdosing on it and causing bouts of very low blood pressure. Which would makes sense with all my symptoms, and - if it got low enough like it may have the other day - it can make you pass out. I'm especially thinking this may be the issue, because I skipped my pill entirely the night before last (I was suspicious about the medication after I found out the potassium was normal, so I didn't want to risk a low pressure again), and I didn't have ANY lightheadedness at all yesterday, for the first time in a long time. So, for now, he wants me to take cut my pill in half everyday and take smaller doses for a week or two and track my blood pressures to see what happens. I'm really hoping that this is all it is and will be an easy fix. I wanted to get off the medication a long time ago, but my elevated pressures were being stubborn and sticking with me even after some weight loss....so, maybe I've finally lost enough to start cutting back and maybe even eventually get off of them completely like I want!

No weigh-in this afternoon, because we were out of the house really early for the first round of Easter stuff, including pictures with the Easter bunny, cookie decorating, balloons, games, and crafts...then we went to the park for the animal day celebrations to watch K-9 demonstrations, meet lots of dogs, go through a farm animal petting zoo area, and we even held snakes! (Except for our middle child, he was having none of it with the snakes...) Needless to say, we ended up being out of the house past lunch time, so I ate before I could weigh in today. Life just comes first sometimes!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

momtopands I hope that TOM comes soon!

slimmerme nice drop!

ophelia I have been suspecting low blood pressure, but definitely more now that you said your episodes are very similar. I wonder what causes it to drop like that in the first place though? Hopefully cutting back on your blood pressure medication keeps it from happening again and maybe you will be able to get off of it all together! It sounds like you and the kids had a really fun afternoon!!

flower Thank you and congrats on meeting your goal

flower Yay for reaching your march goal!

SlimmerMe and KayG congrats on your losses!

kfunk you're doing great! Last night will disappear as well!

ophelia I am so glad your doctor might have the culprit. Hope decreasing your dosage does the trick, and even better, that you will get off those meds completely!

I've had the last 3 days way out of normal routine, with a big night out and then a girls weekend away. I went as well as could be expected on the food but drank more alcohol than I should! The scales seem to have forgiven me though as i'm another 1lb off (unless they bite back later.....)

kfunk: Let me know if you ever find out what's causing yours...I'm curious now!

KayG: Things seem to be much improved so far, so I'm hoping everything is going to go well from here on out! And, I'm glad you're seeing some progress!

momtopands: Glad TOM didn't bring in a big gain and hoping it will remain easy on you while it is here.

ange82much: I'm glad the scales are being nice and hoping they don't bite back later on...lol.

---------------------------------

Weigh-in was up a full two pounds to 189.6...all days have been on-plan or even too low on the calories, so I think the biggest culprit might be that I've also been super low on water, like 4-5 cups worth the past couple of days. So, I may be retaining water? Tomorrow is a "fasting" day, so maybe being able to focus more on water all afternoon to rehydrate will help by Tuesday's weigh-in...we shall see!

kay Nice work so far!! Yes, lets finish this last week up strong!!

mom Nice whoosh!! Hope your diabetes class goes well!

ophelia I will! I am half tempted to see if my father in law has a machine that I can borrow! I never know when it will happen though, it doesn't seem to hold a pattern. I am up the last 2 days as well for no reason. I am retaining water, I can tell my rings are tight. Hopefully we can lose the water weight and have a good final weigh in!

I've just realised it's getting towards the end of March already! (I'm a little bit slow on the uptake). It started off really dragging and then suddenly got fast. That means I've been dieting nearly 1/4 of a year. Wow, that sounds a long time, but doesn't feel a long time. Still super-motivated to get this done.
The scales are still cooperating too which helps a lot - another 0.3kg off this morning, which isn't quite another 1lb down so won't move my ticker yet, but very happy anyway.
Decided that I need to start eating up stocks from the freezer a bit - every time I've made a batch of something this year (which has been quite a lot) I've made heaps and put some in portions in the freezer. It's getting full! Luckily i'm a very un-fussy eater, so an old frozen portion of something is absolutely fine by me. Have hauled out some cabbage dish, a fish curry and a chicken mince dish this morning

kfunk: Fingers crossed for some whooshes all around for us!

ange82much: Nice loss! And, how nice it must be to have so many things ready to go, just needing to be reheated. That's a good idea for big batches!

Today was busy, and I almost forgot to come on here and post...whoops! I usually do my updates during lunch, but - since today was a fasting day until dinner time - I got completely sidetracked, lol. My weigh-in was 188.4 today...still up, but at least coming back down. I'm hoping that today will reset my random gain and put me back down to where I was...we shall see. I'd hate to see another week go to waste, but considering how odd this week was all around, health-wise, I won't take it too personally. Life happens. Still hoping to show a loss by the end, though!
