Jacqui Your pup is SOOOO cute! I'm sure he will be back to normal soon
Gardener good for you for getting on the scale! There are days I don't wanna do it either, but sucking it up works best for me as well.
staypuft if you have been OP than a bounce up just means a larger bounce down eventually! Keep it up!
Down again this morning, didn't think much of it (beyond the usual yay factor) until I entered it on my 4th of july to halloween challenge spreadsheet. I am finally back down to my end of June weight, So everything I gained from multiple days at the San Diego Fair and multiple family birthday parties is gone! Woot! Now just to get rid of the Oct-May gains lol
Happy Friday, ladies! I do feel better today. I work during the week, so I sent my daughter to daycare for the day yesterday so I could stay in bed. I give so much credit to stay at home moms who don't have help during the day when they are sick and have to take care of babies.
I'm feeling better and I'm really hungry. I'm just going to stay on track and keep slamming my water.
Jacqui, your poor doggie! Glad she'll be on the mend. We have a rescue dog named Jasper and he's our family. Congrats at being at your start weight!
Tuscany, there is a downward trend in your weigh-ins, so don't get discouraged with the slow movement. Slow movement is better than no movement.
Angelique, if you only ate that little, then I'm sure the pound will fall right off. Drink a ton of water and your system will flush itself out.
Turtle, great job on the loss! I love seeing the numbers going down.
Chunkie, great job on the 2 pound loss! Exciting!
Stay_Puft, yes, that's the attitude to have: a loss is coming...it's just a matter of waiting it out. You're doing great.
Cheeriloos, water, water, water! That's how I flush out my system after I've eaten a bit too much off track. You'll be fine in no time.
gardnerjoy, I can totally relate. That's what jump-started me to do this challenge. I weighed myself and said "Nope, time to get on track." Good luck to you!
9/1 - 156.5
9/2 - 157
9/3 - 159
9/4 - 157.5
9/5 - 157.5
9/6 - 156 <-- Yay! I'm gonna try my best not to binge this morning. I woke up badly hypoglycemic which usually sends me running to the fridge to eat everything in sight, which later causes another attack. So I had some fruit and I'm waiting on my toast. Still not 100% but a lot better than when I first got up.
pnkrckpixikat You are doing great! Keep up the good work
emme Awesome losses so far, you will be at goal in no time!
joy Good for you getting on the scale this morning! I know that for me, avoiding it only leads to more denial and greater gains.
staypuft and tuscany Hope y'all see the woosh fairy soon!!
Me: Down .6 lbs from yesterday. I use the Lose It app on my phone to casually log my food and/or check the calories in restaurant food before proceeding. According to it, with losing 2lbs a week I will have met my goal of 180 in December 2014. This morning I logged my current weight and it moved my tentative end date to November 2014.
I really hope I can keep up the stamina. My son (nearly 7 months) isn't sleeping well at ALL...last night we got a grand total of 3 hours. He is teething and trying to learn to crawl. Add that to the fact that I work 12-15 hours a day (taking care of two kiddos, ages 2 and 4 along with my own) I am just exhausted! And when I am tired I crave sugar and carbs. This morning, to curb the cravings, I made a banana avocado cocao smoothie. It worked so far. I have my clingy and exhausted little boy in a mei tai on my chest, and sent the other two outdoors to play for a while...so for now it is rather peaceful inside!
Maintaining 195 right now. Better than 196! Thanks Tuscany, Puft, Cheeri, Pixikat, and Emme for your well wishes for Josie! She's moving a tad better today.
Tuscany, the whoosh fairy loves you! I'm sure she's just lurking around the corner!
Angelique, I always get cravings for chocolate and sweets around TOM. Good job on only eating pineapple and corn!
Turtle, yay on the 5!
Chunkie, fantastic loss! How exciting!
Puft, I am ready to rumble! Now, if only my body will cooperate, lol!
Cheeri, No more than one cheat day a week!
Joy, I've found weighing after cheat days is best for that exact reason--it helps keep me honest and on track.
Pixikat, good job on the drop! Every bit helps!
Emme, so glad you are feeling better! Take care of yourself!
Leah, yay on the 1.5 lb drop! My daughter and I both have reactive hypoglycemia. She can tell when her blood sugar is getting low because she becomes very hungry. It's really difficult for her to get her blood sugar levels up though, even her highs are only in the 90's, and so she has passed out a few times because it's dropped too low. As for me, I don't even notice anything's wrong until I am on the verge of passing out, and then I have to stop everything and eat immediately. It's not fun! So sorry you woke up that way!
Tavvy, wow! You really have your hands full! The smoothie was a good idea. Congrats on the move up of your goal date!

Oh, Tavvy. I feel you, girl. I feel you. My daughter was a horrible, horrible sleeper for quite some time. Is he waking up from the pain or do you think it is more out of habit?

It seems to be more the crawling thing that is keeping him awake. His arms have a mind of his own and he pushes up into a crawling position in his sleep so I have had to start swaddling his arms again. It definitely isn't habit since he usually sleeps like a dream (about 7 hours at a time). Bleck. I will be glad when this is over.
Jacqui D: Thanks for the welcome By the way your dog is soooo cute! Hope she feels better soon
Tuscany: Thanks same to you
chunkie89: congrats on the 2lbs loss
Stay Puft: I think you're still going really well, a loss is a loss so congrats
gardenerjoy: Thanks for the welcome
I still haven't gone to the gym and I am beating myself up about it too Really kciking my butt into gear to go today. With a scale that measures in KG not pounds (I'm in Aussie) I dont think I'll weiugh myself everyday but instead once a week as otherwise I am going to drive myself crazy
Jaqui I typically only get it in the morning because I'm pretty good about eating frequently enough during the day to stay stable. But my blood sugar drops so much while I'm sleeping that I often wake up low. I have 3 warning signs figured out so far. Irritability is my first sign that I need to eat. I usually wake up grumpy as all **** but I'm perfectly okay after breakfast. The next is nausea. When I reach the nausea stage it is really tough for me because I know I need to eat, I feel better when I eat, but everything turns my stomach. The final sign is dizziness, blacking out (but not yet fainting), and ears ringing. That's how I was in the morning. Sometimes I've just grabbed the bottle of honey and squeezed it directly into my mouth despite not being a huge honey fan. But now I've learned to grab some quick fruit because it doesn't cause a second crash later on. Today I had a really hard time keeping my levels up. On the way to school I just bought a bag of lollipops and have sucked on a few. I'm doing much better now though. I just gotta take it easy the rest of the night.
Ok Jacqui I have to write a quick post about your dog. A very good friend of mine has an English Mastiff that looks a bit like your Josie. Her name is Ellie Sue. I love how dogs their size have no clue that they are huge and love to cuddle, when in reality they weigh around 200 pounds and could knock you over when the lean on you for a pet! I hope Josie feels better soon.
On side note...
Sept 1~241.7
Sept 6~240.5
So 1.2 pounds but I expected a smaller loss this week from a not so great weekend last weekend with eating out, Ill take it though

I was down a half pound this morning, which is my loss for the week….better than nothing!
I have an early morning flight tomorrow. So, after today, I likely won’t be posting again until I get back in a few weeks. I hope to remain OP for the most part when I’m away, although there will be a few days when I will indulge. I’m not sure if I mentioned this before, but one of the reasons for my trip is to help my daughter plan her wedding in Italy next year. So, when we’re in Italy, we will be meeting with the caterer to do a tasting in order to pick the menu. I suspect I’ll go off plan that day…I love Italian food!
The other reason for my trip is to attend my daughter’s graduation from Oxford. She finished her Master’s last year and is currently doing her PhD. I will be taking her and her fiancé for dinner on graduation night and I will no doubt go off plan that day too. I imagine we’ll do a ton of walking while I’m there, which will hopefully make up for my occasional indulgences.
I’ll check in with everyone when I get home in a few weeks. In the meantime, I hope everyone has a fabulous September and makes terrific progress toward their goals!!
Turtle: Happy Anniversary! September will be the month of the turtle ridden by the jockey…as in the picture I posted last month.
Stay Puft: You're almost 2 lbs down since the start of the month, which is not too shabby!
Jacqui: I predict you’ll soon be at 194!
Pixi: Another new low…good for you.
Joy: Way to get right back in the saddle.
Emme: Glad to hear you’re feeling better!
Sum: Despite the small gain, you’re doing really well this month.
Leah: Congrats on the whoosh.
Tray: There will be a whoosh in your future very soon.
Tavvy: I hope your son’s teeth come through soon so you can get a bit more sleep!
chunkie: My goodness, you’re doing well this month!
cheeriloos: Enjoy your street party, minus the food!
mzshaunna: I hope you’re able to find the motivation you need to get some exercise…if the gym doesn’t truly interest you, perhaps there’s something else you might enjoy more?
SouthernBell: That’s a pretty decent loss considering your description of your weekend!
Angelique: It’s normal to gain weight during TOM…nothing to worry about.
196 again, hm, looks like my body's going to be stubborn this month!
Mzshaunna, thanks! Josie's on the mend, slowly but surely. As far as going to the gym, maybe you're just not mentally ready for that yet. Sometimes when starting out on a new weight loss plan, it can all seem like too much. Maybe you need to take it just one step at a time, and if I were you, I'd start with diet. I've always found if I can just start eating healthier foods and lose just a few pounds, then I feel like doing more and I start walking. But when I first start, I usually am not mentally ready to jump in all at once with diet and exercise. Maybe the same is true for you. Don't do what others expect of you. Just do what works for you.
Leah, my daughter always eats a spoonful of peanut butter at night before she goes to bed. She's found that helps her make it through the night.
SouthernBell, you are so right, lol! They are leaners! And they think they are lap dogs. Josie is my smallest mastiff. In fact, people often think she is a bullmastiff because she's so small. I have two others that are English Mastiff/German Mastiff (Great Dane) mixes who are taller and bigger, and my big boy Mac is notorious for backing up his hind end and sitting on the couch. He likes even better, though, when we are sitting on the couch and he can back up and sit in our laps, lol!
Tuscany, you must be so proud of your daughters! Have a fantastic time. I know you will! We'll miss you!
Sum, your and my scale both are going in the wrong direction!
