  • Sum way to go!!

nitrus that will feel so great, wishing you lots of weightloss fairy dust!!

Pnkrckpixi I thought I was 5'3" through high school but I gained an inch last year at 26 lol
  • Hi Wonderful people,

    Good job Everyone!!!
    Im a little dissapointed.
My scale just fluctuates between 160.8 and 161.3 and it does not really stop.
    I weighed myself 3 times.
The scale was a bit at ease with 160.8 but i gained.

Im not sure. Am i not eating right? Or do I need some more patients

    Start Weight: 161.3
    Goal Weight: 125

    9/3: 161.3
    9/4: 160.5
    9/5: 160.8 or maybe 161 again.
  • Down 1 lb today... 2 more to go before I reach my low of 116

Tuscany: You're right, at least there's no gain! Hope the scale moved in the right direction for you today!

Jacqui_D: That darn whoosh fairy had better worked her magic on you (and Tuscany) yesterday! Btw ladies, I had an extra 2 glasses of water yesterday, maybe that helped in my 1 lb loss. Will drink the same today and monitor...

Angelique32: My scale gives me different numbers sometimes so I always weigh a few times then settle on the number that comes up the most.

Seems like everyone's doing great! Let's keep up the good work!
  • Only three more days until I leave for Europe…can’t wait! As promised, I finally got around to posting pictures in the mini-goal forum. The pics were taken by me with my blackberry, so they’re a little fuzzy, but they’ll have to do. My daughter is an amateur photographer, and I’ll get her to take some better pictures when I’m in Italy and the U.K. I’m so excited to see her again! As for my weight, I’m moving in the wrong direction this morning… hopefully that will reverse shortly:

    SW (A31): 147.75
    S1: 148.00 (+0.25)
    S2: 148.00 (0.00)
    S3: 146.75 (-1.25)
    S4: 146.75 (0.00)
    S5: 147.75 (+1.00)

    GW (S30): 144.00

Turtle: Glad to see you’re almost back to your SW. I’m really looking forward to my trip. I know we’ll do lots of walking, and I hope that will compensate for the few extra calories I might consume upon occasion.

Jacqui: I hope you get back to 195 soon. As for height, I was 5’ 7” in high school. I measured myself a few months ago, only to discover I’d shrunk, all the way down to 5’ 5”.

Stay Puft: Great month so far…keep up the good work!

Joy: Along with the aunts, uncles, grandparents and all those “once removed”…

cheeriloos: 2 lbs so far this month…great progress!

Pixi: Thanks for asking about my trip. I can’t wait to see my daughter and her fiancé again. Just a few more days!

Leah: Yes, it’s amazing how much water affects our weight.

Tray: Your numbers will be going down once again very soon.

Sum: You’re doing really well this month…way to get back on track!

chunkie: Another loss…that’s terrific. I’m very happy for you.

seaurchin: Maintaining through the holidays is better than gaining.

Emme: It always takes me a few days to get over the hunger associated with cutting calories, but it’s not too bad once those initial few days pass. These days, whenever I feel hungry but know I shouldn’t eat, I grab my water and drink instead, which helps to keep my tummy happy.

Tavvy: 4 lbs down already…that’s wonderful!

Rheko: Instead of thinking “If I hadn’t stopped, I would have been”, it’s much more fun to think: “If I keep going, I soon will be….”

Angelique: If your scale is fluctuating, it might need new batteries. In addition, when you weigh daily, you’re going to find that some days you lose and some days you gain. The gains are just fluctuations in water weight. Our body retains water for all sorts of different reasons…here are some examples: (1) eating foods high in sodium (which would include low calorie things such as soup); (2) beginning a new exercise program that makes us feel sore…the body retains water to help repair our muscles; (3) it’s humid outside, which will also cause water retention; (4) not drinking enough fluids, which will cause our body to retain water to compensate; (5) hormones and/or your menstrual cycle, which can cause large fluctuations in water retention; and, (6) all sorts of other reasons! So, if you’re going to weigh daily, you need to ignore the daily fluctuations and concentrate on the overall trends. So far, in only two days, you have lost a half pound, and that’s great!

mjmelwel: Welcome and good luck with your September goal!

nitrus: Welcome and good luck reaching ONEderland!
  • Sum - thats awesome, you're going to have to get into a bonus round goal

cheeriloss - you are totally killing that scale.

Emme - Awesome job, I've actually found that if I can differentiate hunger from needing food, and tell myself it is just the fat screaming, I stay on track. (you don't want to be toooo hungry!!)

tavvy - I WISH i didn't like baked goods. Growing up the family had a bakery, so I guess it runs in the family. Luckily my mother made some good decisions and said my dad couldn't bring his work home, so we were all pretty healthy.

jacqui - These setpoints are killing us!! I'm stuck on the 6 too!! Hopefully today you went down

Pixi - I try not to keep baked goods in the house either in the house either. You are so right about the water. I sometimes have to remind myself to drink more.

Angeliquie - I'm sure its water weight, you'll probably get a whoosh in a few days.

chunkie - congrats on the 1 lb!!! Thats has to be really hard when you are closer to goal.

Tuscany - You might hit goal before you even leave

I'm definately not going to measure my height, because I'm probably closer to 5 5.5" and that would lower my normal BMI that I want to get to.

  • Southern AWESOME JOB on meeting all your fitbit goals! I hope it becomes a new trend and helps with the scale.

angelique I agree that the scale may need new batteries. As to the fluctuation up, Don't stress about it! Unless you ate you maintenance cals AND an additional 1000-3500 (depending on which number is right) there is no possible way that you gained weight. As Tuscany said, there are many reasons the body will fluctuate. Try not to focus on each day's number as much as the fact that the trend is overall downward. Celebrate new lows, yes, but don't stress the bumps up unless you went crazy with food.

Keep up the good work everyone!

Not a great morning for me. Forgot to eat breakfast before I left. Then it was so muggy outside. Just miserable. Made me sweaty and yucky. Still I did my planned walk which made me hungry. Not sure if actual hunger or that faux hunger that comes with realizing I forgot to eat.

At least I didn't cheat. Although I did stare longingly at the vending machine. That scale better show me some respect tomorrow or I may throw it into the vending machine.

seaurchin, congrats on keeping the portions small. Thank goodness there aren't anymore holidays for me until the dreaded Halloween.

SouthernBell02, good to know. I used to work 3rd shift so I know the weirdness of it. As an insomniac it actually worked for me a little. Great job with your flex. And those were some lofty goals you achieved!

    LovelyLeah, all hail water!

    pnkrckpixikat, nice!

gardenerjoy, yes a family reunion of losses on the scale!

Emme, sorry about your hunger. When I cut my portions it definitely was a couple of days of hunger before I settled down. Hope you feel better.

Turtle11, crossing my fingers for 3 months of goals in a row for you. That would be fantastic! Not measuring my height either. I can't take the risk of losing any more inches.

tavvy, wow 4 lbs in 4 days is incredible!

Jacqui_D, I will threaten your scale for you. Perhaps even shake an angry fist of fury at it menacingly. You are stronger than those hormones so you'll just have to hunker down and wait them out. Easier said than done sometimes, but you can do it.

TrayTeam, lots of time left in the month to make it happen.

mjmelwel, good to have you here with us!

nitrus29, what a great goal! You will do it!

Sum38, wow! Everything else you lose this month will just be a fantastic bonus.

cheeriloos, look at you go. You are melting away!

Angelique32, weight fluctuates. You just have to wait it out. I'm .4 higher than yesterday but I know it isn't real. I tend to bounce around a few days then lose weight. Currently I'm in the bouncy stage.

Tuscany, I'll have to go look at your pics. We'll miss you while you are gone. Have a great trip.

    cincorn, congrats!
