9/18 - 153.5 <-- Yesterday was pure stress for me. Actually, I've had nothing but stress for about a week now. I got involved in some major drama at school that I couldn't ignore and had to report a classmate and friend to campus police. Then things haven't been going well at work. Business is slow and the owner decided to vent to me. That's the downside of being a good listener. People think they can just unload on you. My problem is that I don't know how to let their stress be just their stress and not absorb it. Today I'm hoping will be a quiet day but I have a class with a professor who is determined to get me to speak up in class and I absolutely refuse. I've been publicly shamed so many times by teachers in the past when I've spoken up that I'd rather not bother. And since he's a condescending jerk to everyone else who talks, there is no way I'm putting myself in that position.
  • A sodium jump -- drinking lots of water today!

  • Yay! 193 today! Thanks Whoosh Fairy for the 2-lb drop! I just realized I have less than 50 lbs to go now! Oh, if only my body were one of those types that could drop 10 lbs a month! But hey, I'll take whatever I can get!

    MzShaunna, woohoo, great job!

Yay, Turtle! Lower 160's, here you come!

    SouthernBell, wow, fantastic!

Cheeri, uh-oh, I hope you feel better soon. That sore throat seems to be going around.

J0ndysse, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! C'mon Onederland!

Leah, oh my, I'm so sorry you had such a stressful week. And I don't blame you one bit for not wanting to speak up when that professor has been a jerk to everyone who has.

Drink it up, Joy! (Water that is!)
  • Hi ya'll. I think I had a visit from the whoosh fairy too because I was very happy when I got on the scale this morning. All of you are doing so awesome. Thanks for keeping me motivated

Turtle, it's great that the water helped out! 80 oz is awesome!

SouthernBell, look at you go! Whooshes are great, but I wish the weight stall/gain prior to a whoosh wouldn't drive us batty!

cheeriloos, I hope you feel better

j0ndysse, you are so close to onederland! Keep on going!

LovelyLeah, I hear you about being the one that people unload on. As if we don't already have enough going on in our lives, it always seems that people unload when we are already topped out with our own stuff. And that professor sounds like a complete a-hole. I can't stand people like that.

gardnerjoy, ah, the lovely sodium jumps. It's cool when we know why our bodies are fluctuating, isn't it?

    Jacqui_D, woo hoo! That's awesome!

grover, YESSSSS!!!! So happy for you!!
  • Quote: Rhiko, Pre-TOM cravings always hit me too. They are so hard to resist! Eat the minimum junk of what you have to in order to get through them, and then get right back to plan, and don't beat yourself up about it. You have to find a way that works best for you that you can keep up long-term and if eating a bit of junk because of pre-TOM keeps you going overall, make it a part of your plan and you won't fall off the big wagon. I do hope whatever else you are having to deal with right now works itself out.
Thank you. I hope my other things works itself out too!
I think you are right that I just need to incorporate it into my diet plan. It was especially bad last night! I'd had dinner (meat and potatoes), a large dinner, and then a few hours later I was "starving" so I had cheese and crackers, and then half an hour later my stomach was "starving" again. it drives me nuts lol
    ___

    Anyway, I'm still 66.2 kgs..............

WHY CAN'T I GET OUT OF THE 66s??? I hope that it's because my body is building muscle since I've increased my distance to 6kms. I've changed my diet this week to cut out all the extra bread and sweets I've been having. It's back to the basics for me. I'm going to be so disappointed if I've not lost 1kg once my TOM is done!
  • southern - congrats on the whoosh! You'll probably be even more on Friday

cheeriloos - sorry about the sore throat, I know something is going on around here as the seasons change... I'm sure we see 228 this morning.

jondysse - You're really close to goal for this time of the month !

Leah - Stress is such pain, sorry about other people unloading on you. It is difficult to listen and not feel compasionate towards other's problems.

garden - the extra water seems to be helping me, I'm sure your sodium will filter through today.

    Jacqui - A 3 !!!! Congrats, I'm hoping to see one tomorrow.

fluffy - gotta love that whoosh fairy

Emme - thanks, yeah I will have to remember to drink more every day. I think it also helps moderate other sodium and time of month stuff.

Rhiko, I seem to have one moderately bad day around TOM, and don't beat myself up. I will win against those hormones!!

Hoping to see a 3, and never a 66 again

Jacqui_D: yay for the whoosh! Can you send the Whoosh Fairy my way?

LovelyLeah: Yep! It's the big picture that counts. The small picture can help keep us focused, but we can't let it be a source of frustration.
