Welcome Stephanie!

Mindy, my initial suggestion would be more veggies, volume it up without adding a bunch of calories. I am thinking sprouts, tomato, lettuce etc on the sandwich. Whole grain bread? Maybe a big pile of peppers, cukes, carrots, celery etc with a tablespoon of hummus. Throw some berries in with your cereal too. Makes it all look prettier too (thus more satisfying) !!

Hope everyone is doing well.

w 100 oz, been short the last few, need to step it up
e dreadmill tonight
e op, that means none of the office chocolate
d moving forward, like to get solidly under 150 before my surgery on 4/24

MM- Thanks for the ideas. I do have lettuce and tomato on my sandwich and my fruit cup is pineapple, grapes, strawberries and watermelon.

I ran 3 miles last night. The first 2 without stopping, took a brief walk break then ran the rest. That was a good run for me. Lost a few pounds today 188. Maybe I can repeat today.

Getting ready to head south for spring break...just 3 more days. I can hardly wait.

W- 60
E- 6 miles on the fitbit and weights for 30 mins
E- 1300
D- Enjoy this beautiful Day outside as much as I can!

Opinions needed.................
I just found this boot camp I can join for in April. It is for 6 weeks Mon, Wed, and Fri from 5 am to 6 am. The cost is $150. You are weighed every week measurements taken, and a food journal. Does this sound reasonable? Never really looked into something like this before.

mtiger-Great job on the run! As for your diet....do you track your micro nutrients like protein, fiber, fat ect? I just noticed that from your sample day it seems like you could fit in more protein and possibly some good fats. Over all its healthy, but protein and healthy fats are really important for the body, especially to maintain muscle. Also...1300 seems low to me Especially if you're exercising. Just some thoughts! I hope you find something that works!

mavis-good job staying away from the chocolate

popcorngal-good job on staying strong! We can do it!

stephanie-I think it sounds awesome and reasonable! My pt sessions are $50 a week so $150 for 6 weeks seems like an amazing deal! Just think of what great shape you'll be in!

Sore from yesterday. Talked with PT about calories and he told me 1800-2000 because of all the exercise I do. I told him 1600 had me feeling weak, and he said that's what I should do on days I don't exercise. Our training sess was hard yesterday though, I kept shaking and I guess I didn't refeed my body properly enough after climbing for 6 hours on sunday so I ate a bit more yesterday.

Dott- Thanks for the advice. I am very interested in what your trainer says you should eat. I have tried 1600 and it didnt work. I have not ever gone as high as 1800-2000 though, that scares me. I will be watching you closely to see if it works. I have age working against me and a slower metabolism with less estrogen. I am not sure if I can eat that many calories. I have played around with all kinds of numbers and nothing seems to work.

Last weigh-in at school today. I am not expecting much. I only go up and down a few pounds these days.

mtiger I know how frustrating it can be. Especially if you feel you are doing everything right and the scale is not showing your dedication.Look how far you have come though. You might just need to change a few things up. About every 4 to 6 weeks I take a full week off of exercise. I just rest that week and I will lose more during that week. I know I treat my body like a machine sometimes go,go, go,go. I forget that I need to rest.

Wed was a good day, I did have a goal to eat around 1300 but I got 1500 in. No big deal though.
Thur 3-29
W- 60
E- Yoga and a nice walk outside and 5 miles on the fitbit
E- 1300 of whole foods
D- I am not able to go to my sons track meet today and I am feeling guilty and sad. The old me would of grabbed something unhealthy and stuffed my emotions down with food. But he was very understandable and I am sure he thinks its a not a big deal. So I am going to write him a letter and let him know how proud I am of him and what a great kid he is. Gonna lay it on his bed so he can read it when he gets home.

mindy-basically what he said was that by eating more calories I'll see changes in my body faster. He has me eating every couple of hours and staying away from sodium, sugar, and carbs except one day a week which I'm supposed to refeed and eat a ton of carbs. Figuring out this calorie business sucks!

stephanie-awe that's so sweet of you to do that for your son!

So I'm afraid of counting my chickens too soon BUT....I seem to be losing. So far this week I have lost 1.2lbs. I'm really scared its just some fluke though so I'm just going to stick with this and hope it keeps moving down! I've been trying to eat more protein and am aiming for 100g a day. Also trying to make sure my net calories for the day isn't below 1200. On non training days I'm keeping it at 1600. I'm trying super hard to listen to my body and give it what it wants. Fingers crossed! I hope this is the right path!

Bad day yesterday. Starting with my blood pressure. It was higher than normal last month, hovering around 140/90 and that is why I figured I needed to give this a whirl again. Three weeks ago it was 123/92 a couple of days after I started WEED and exercising again. One week later it was 120/88 much closer to ideal and normally where I am. So yesterday I remembered that I hadn't checked my blood pressure in a couple of weeks and it was hovering around 140/90. I checked it a few times over the next few hours and it stayed in that area. I called the doctor because we have a history of high blood pressure in our family. Plus I had a history of a problem nineteen years ago due to oral contraceptives so I have always been conscientious about it. I made a doctors appointment to have it checked today. I also ended up at dinner with somebody and both my exercise and eating got all messed with. So bottom line - an unsuccessful day.

Good news - the doctor says no medication yet because it would drop my blood pressure too low. I need to continue to try to control it with diet and exercise. The annoying news - it sounds like it is not uncommon for a woman's blood pressure to fluctuate like this before menopause. DARN HORMONES!!!

Today's WEED -

W - 72
E - 30 min treadmill
E - 1200-1300 calories
D - work on scent training with dog

Have a good WEED day everyone!

Yesterday's WEED went okay. Missed my D but replaced it with other training. Did my 30 min walk outside with dog instead of treadmill. Really felt that in the back of my legs since we have to go up a hill. Missed the mark a little on my water intake.

I am feeling nervous about tomorrow's weigh in again. You can usually tell by your clothes that your diet is working but I feel like my body is stuck and am actually afraid of a weight gain. This week I don't have the Big C to blame. I guess we will see.

Today's WEED -

W - 64
E - 30 min
E - 1200-1300 calories
D - try to stay motivated and not worry about the scale

Dott - that is so great you think you found your balance. So hard to do for me.

My son got 2 nd in the 400m. Ran it in 1:09 So proud of him! I cant imagine running .25 of a mile that fast.

Thur WEED did not get 5 miles on the fitbit But going for it today! I mentioned earlier about a bootcamp I was thinking about. Well I am signed up and will start April 16th. Excited and nervous.

W- 60
E- weights 30 and 5 miles on the fitbit
E- around 1300
D- Flo will be here in about 4 days and my sweet cravings are always bad during this time. So going to make some Choc protein ball and allow my self 6 of them today if I get the cravings!

Well no surprise, but I didn't lose any weight. I could just tell my body is not losing even though I mathematically should have lost weight between caloric intake and exercise. I can only assume my body is trying to resist this.

I am not going to let this bother me and forge on.

Dott - I am glad that you found your balance and your weight loss is kicking in.

Today's WEED -

W - 64
E - 40 min exercise of some kind
E - 1300-1400
D - train the dog, been slacking the last part of this week

stephanie-that's so awesome you signed up for the bootcamp! I'm sure you'll love it and congrats to your son!

popcorngal- you can do it! Just keep going and you'll make it!

Made yesterday my spike day. Ugh I know I'm supposed to and all but it made me feel kind of guilty you know? Ah well....trainer knows best....I had planned on going hiking yesterday but had no one to go with grrr and I feel like treking into the desert by myself would be a bad life choice Instead tried to get in some walking last night after dinner.
