  • Hi everyone! I am new and looking for some way to stay accountable. I was doing the ideal protein diet but it was a little to restrictive for me- but while on that plan for 3 months I lost 30 pounds. However I wasn't "allowed" to exercise which I was missing.

Now I am counting calories -1200 a day
working out 6 days a week 60 minutes of my tae bo DVD, 4 days a week doing Jillian Michaels DVD ~30 min, and walking my dog every day. I know my weight loss will be slower now than it was before but I am OK with that because I feel better about how I look already and now I'm more interested in improving my health with exercise too.

A little about me I am a premed student (1 more semester yay!) I am getting married next summer, so I hope to reach my goal weight (120) by October for our engagement pictures.
  • Sunday night, weekend is over and it's been another crazy one. Ah well.

    Amanda, welcome!!

    Dottington, you are doing great!

Amanda - Welcome. This is a very supportive group. I check in daily just because it helps me to have a daily goal. By posting it each day I feel a little more accountable. I am a calorie counter too. I think you will reach your goal by October!

Dott - your workouts are really cool. Keep up the good work.

Stephanie - that is great about boot camp. I think I would be such a wimp at one of those.

Mavis - sounds like you are really busy. I did forget to show you pictures of the tree skirt - it seems so long ago now. I sent one to the artist and received her permission to auction one off for rescue. Below are the links to the pictures

Like today we had breakfast around 9, 2 eggs and a waffle. It is 1:30 now and I have had a slice of bread with butter. We shall see what happens.

I went for a little bike ride around the neighborhood. Trying to talk hubbie into canoeing.....when he finishes washing his truck.

  • Yesterday's WEED was successful. Although I actually felt hungry as I was going to bed.

Thanks everyone - my checkup on my ankle went well. He doesn't need to see me anymore. I still have the swelling after using it a bit but he says I will have that for a while if not always. At least I can use it and do my activities who cares what it looks like.

Also, thanks for the nice comments on my sewing. I am not much of a seamstress but more of a mathematician with an artistic side.

Amanda - good luck with changing plans. I guess it takes the body some adjustment period - hang in there.

Stephanie - what kind of weights are you doing?

Mindy - good for you staying active on vacation. Have fun!

Dott - how did your calories go yesterday? I should try to chart my calorie intake against my emotional state, etc. It would be a pain in the rear, but I wonder if there is a cylcical pattern like hormones or if I am eating more on weekends when I am not so busy. It seems like I do better on the weekdays.

Mavis - I hope the bedtime thing works out. Being tired throughout the day really messes up everything doesn't it? I think hormones really affect our energy level and definitely our sleep patterns.

    Today's WEED -

    W - 72
    E - 40 min treadmill (did 25 already)
    E - 1200-1300 calories
D - hit the training center with the dog

Have a great WEED day ladies!
  • Morning all! It's been a day or two since I have been able to check in. I am off of work for spring break this week. So far, I am still struggling with food. I feel like I ate everything in sight yesterday, but I know TOM will be here soon.....so maybe that is why.

On the other hand, I went for a walk yesterday FINALLY! It was very empowering. For the longest time I have been telling myself that I am so tired and out of shape that I probably cant exercise much or for very long. Yesterday I decided to take a walk. I thought even if I could only walk for 10 minutes that at least it would be a start. When I got back home, I checked my iPod, and I had walked 30 minutes. I felt great too! I realized that I can do more than I give myself credit for. I am going to start taking nightly walks, and when it rains I can do work out DVDs or the elliptical.

Hope everyone is having a great day so far!

    WEED for today:
    W- 20 oz
    E- 30 min walking
    E- 1800 calories
D- stop saying you can't because you really can!
  • popcorngal-they went well thanks charting cals against emotional state is actually a really brilliant idea! i'm super tempted to try it. I do better when I'm busy too. I've been more hungry this week then usual so I wouldn't be surprised if TOM is around the corner bleh

mckenzie-That's wonderful about the walk! Its really amazing what we can do once we stop saying "I can't". I really think the majority of healhty living is mental and just realizing we can do anything we put our minds to

PT was sick yesterday so I went to the gym by myself. He told me to only do cardio and that we'll lift heavy today. It went fine, but I realized how boring the gym is. I really prefer weight lifting or some kind of outdoors exercise. Doing the treadmill and bike, even though I was beat after, I just didn't "feel" as if I had worked that hard even though I know I did. I guess I'm really used to anaerobic over aerobic exercise.

    W-100
    E-session with pt
E-1800(or2000 depending how hungry I get!)
D-If you keep to this plan, you WILL reach your goals, its only a matter of time <3

    E- 3 mile run/walk

  • Hello everyone I joined 3FC today and i love how all of you support each other! I will be going on vacation in 8 weeks and I'm hoping I will reach my goal weight by than or close to it
    WEED for the day
    W: 60
    E: walk for 30 min
    E: about 1100 calories
D: my reward is all the new clothes I will buy when I reach my goal!
  • Quote: Amanda - No worries, keep doing what you have planned. I did the keto thing about a year ago and it was hard for me. How did you manage. I was moody!!!!!!!!!!

    Mon 4-2
    W- 50
    E- 30 weights, run 2 miles
    E- around 1300
D- Stay positive and keep going!
I made it for 2.5 months then my family and I went to florida for spring break and I went off plan, when I came back I tried to start again but got extremely moody I felt like I was throwing tantrums like a 5 year old. So I had enough of that. I have been doing some research on ketosis now (probably should have before) and found that it can be pretty strenuous on the live so its probably for the better that I am done with that.

    Tues 4-3
    W-96
    E-walking
    E-1200-1250
D-make it through my busy day of classes without junk food snacking
  • Yesterday's WEED was successful.

Melissa - welcome back! I am glad you got a walk in. I love walking outside best, it really clears the cobwebs. Right now I am in treadmill mode but I have been putting in old musicals on to watch. I find myself singing along and totally getting into it so I don't notice the time quite as much. But walking outside I am rarely aware of the time.

Dott - I learned a new word thanks to you - anaerobic. I had to look it up to see what it meant. LOL I can see the difference between the two with the dog. He does so much sprinting and muscle activities that I worry when we do the hour long hike. Of course he doesn't pace himself, being a dog, so at the beginning he is dragging me and by the end I am dragging him. When the weather is nicer I walk him more so I build his aerobic stamina.

Stephanie - I am with you on the love/hate relationship with the treadmill. It is more convenient especially when the weather is iffy but I never say "I can't wait to walk on the treadmill".

Angel - welcome to the Women on WEED group. New clothes are always a nice reward. Heck, even old clothes are reward when you can fit back into them. Today I am wearing the next size down and it feels good. Certainly your vacation will be great motivation for you.

Amanda - good luck with your D today. Nighttime is my snacking downfall. Maybe chewing gum would help.

    Today's WEED -

    W - 72
E - metabolism DVD (done) and some time on the treadmill
    E - 1200-1300
D - try to get to bed at a reasonable time tonight

Have a good WEED day everyone!
