JEALOUS!!! I dont know if Crossfit is the same $$ everywhere but here it is $200 a month and they require a year term and wont let me suspend membership summers. To do an hour long Xft class in the summer I would have to pay for 2 1/2 hours of babysitting so no freaking way. Not that i could do the $200 to begin with and it is a bit far away for me to make that kind of commitment.

But I have the type of fitness background that 20 classes I could get enough of the stuff down to do it all on my own.

It's not quite that pricy here. It's just over $100/month for one person/household. We could both have memberships for around $200/month. I'm approaching this trying to get as much out of those 20 sessions as possible. I'll have to use 8 of them on their "on ramp" type program learning the fundamentals and form in a small group setting. That process alone is worth way more than the $34 for me to get that coaching and instruction. We have a great setup at home to workout and I'm much better at working out at home than going to the gym.

This isn't the first deal that a Crossfit box has offered on one of those group buy sites around here. It's just the best deal I've seen!

Pledged 1/Lost 3.8/New Pledge 1

I missed a lot of working out this week, but the stomach flu and resulting saltines and ginger ale diet does seem to have been effective. Some of it was the weird water weight gain from last week though. I finally got a run in today which was my first workout since a run on Tuesday. I am hoping to get to the gym to lift this evening but it really depends on how my errands this afternoon go. At least I ran!

RRRRGH! ALMOST

I set out to do the Bad *** Hill Run today. I made it to the next to last hill and then had to walk. ALTHOUGH I did add a few hills earlier on and switch a hill to a harder one. I ended up at 9.5 miles total with a shortcut so I think my route was well over a mile longer than the original. I'll make my final attempt on New Year's eve and I will stick to the original route

Thumbs down

Well I may as well get this over with.

pledged 1/ gained 1.2/ pledge 1

I'm not going to make excuses. All I'm going to say is I have 14 more days at home, and I plan to make the most of them. I started 2-a-days yesterday and I will do those everyday of my holiday except Christmas. I am going to focus on the things I can control and hope that my work will be reflected on the scale and in inches.

I was actually really happy with the scale this morning, lol, as if I'd had to report my weight yesterday I would have had a gain of 4.7 lbs! My weight has been up all week - all water, as my calorie deficit this week was 5313, which should have been good for a ~1.5 lb loss. There's not much I can do about the water weight at this point as I'll be on the hormones at least another week, and so I'm not letting it bother me. I did get to start light exercise again mid-week, and that has been feeling really good.

Hi Everyone!
I haven't been posting much lately but I'm still lurking. I think I just got burned out and needed a bit of a break. I'm sticking to my nutrition but have been focusing on a new job and keeping my sanity and therefore neglecting my internet life.
I'm going to be kicking it into gear again after the holiday when all the madness is over with and life gets a little less busy. I"m glad to see everyone on here and staying true to the Platoon goals.
Welcome to all the newbies! You have found a very successful zone of supporters.
