rainbow and Skinny: There is one piece of cheesecake left - PLEASE COME AND TAKE IT OUT OF MY HOUSE! It's much too tempting, lol. And Skinny - your post cracked me up.
Resolute: You look amazing! Seriously, no one looking at those two photos would ever guess they were of the same person. I am just overwhelmed by the transformation you have made.
PacSunMama: You look absolutely beautiful! I love the red hair! And I can really see a big difference in your face with the weight loss.
So, I did have a tiny piece of cheesecake today, but I ate very well the rest of the day and am actually under my target calories for the day. I made a yummy dinner tonight of turkey andouille sausage, crispy polenta cakes, and grilled tomatoes, onions and zucchini (I thought of MadamB, of course!) - pretty tasty for 313 calories! I love grilling veggies, but my problem is that I then douse them in salt because that's what makes them taste so yummy, lol.
Chickadee- something I LOVE for my veggies is to toss them lightly in olive oil (you could use olive oil pam) and chopped garlic, then roast them in the oven until they submit to deliciousness. You'll probably be surprised that you don't need to salt them AT ALL! And you can scoop them all into a zippy bag and snack on them throughout the day. Since I cannot have raw veggies, I do this sometimes to make sure I get my veggies. And it's totally fine if I can't stop snacking on them because, hello, it's veggies!
Reso and SMS- thanks for the love! I'm seriously really loving this... now to get the caterpillars off my face! Have let them grow wild for the last 18 months so I could start completely fresh with shaping. It's crazy to feel like a woman again, and not all the negative and overwhelming things that I had in my life over the last few years.
I love how losing weight and getting healthier really pours over into all the other parts of my life that I've neglected. I'm losing my body weight and at the same time, totally regaining a person I lost along the way!
Ok probably too much mushy for everyone. So I'll hop off and get back to my homework... it's only 12:30am and my kidlet will be awake and hungry in 5 hours. But who cares because HAY-OH!! MAMAS a REDHEAD!!
Skinny - Congrats on your loss! And running is great, but it sure is challenging, but I like that. I like feeling as if I'm about to die haha! Half Marathon will be pretty scary, but I know what I'm doing it for so no matter what happens that will always stay true =)
Reso - Wow, your weight loss is incredible. So inspirational! You look awesome =)
PacSun - Looking good! Love the new hair! You are very pretty =)
--
Heading on my 3 mile run today, the weather looks a lot nicer than yesterday so I'm sure I'll enjoy it! Going out with my friends tonight but I'm going to make sure I don't drink alcohol, because quite frankly I don't really like the taste but as soon as I start drinking I just end up drinking to get drunk and that's baaaad =(.
Holy Cow, can't even address all the absolutely hysterical personals. You all proved again that losing weight does not have to make a person a crabby patty.
Skinny -- Sarge does not accept American Express. To pay for that tank you'll have to lose twice your pledge!
PacSun--Beside the frivolity that breaks out in the platoon on a daily basis, yours is the kind of post/story that keeps Sarge engaged in maintaining the thread. It is a real thrill to watch people take back control of their life! Your photos are awesome!
Reso--The black shoes with red laces are a hoot. Even funnier that you didn't leave yourself open to sandals with sock comments again! Even without looking at the last photo you can def notice the need to drill another hole in the belt.
Chick--Ditch that cheesecake pronto but send me the grilled veggies!
Skinny- You are hilarious! I seriously enjoyed your responses I can only hope to look as good ad Gumby at 45. No 'juice' for me though
Reso - I love seeing your transformation photos, you look amazing Love the red laces, I am also a fan of the red accents. Going to have to try that one
PacSun- You look beautiful, I love the new locks. The flair certainly suits you also love love love the glasses
Cheshirecat- once again your morning poster hits the mark. Why put off doing something good for yourself?
Sarge- Thanks for the recipe, I think I will try it out tonight since the hubby is away for work.
So I have a funny story and I wanted to share it with the platoon:
My mother has been super surprised by my weight loss but still very happy for me. I was visiting her this week and she suddenly points to my arm and says:
'Oh, what did you do to your arm?!'
I am a bit like Pokey and will just get bruises in random places from time to time. I bump into things a lot so it is common that I don't always notice right away. So I look down expecting to see purple but can't see anything at all.
I look at her and say 'What are you talking about?'
Mom reply's ' You have a bump on the side of your arm'
I look down and realize what she's talking about and start laughing: 'Mom, that's called a tricep. See I have one on the other arm too'
To this she replies 'Oh! How do you get those?'
I said 'Push-ups and dips brought on by some crazy Fitocracy chicks.'
I am proud to announce that while Poncho is certainly not out of the woods, he is a bit brighter this morning. He still isnt interested in eating but it doesnt bother me as much now that he's on a bag.
Weighed in this morning at....164.6 so I'm happy. Well its time to start the day. My house needs some major cleanup before Zack's bday on friday.
Reso: WOW! The results of 21 miles a day are as impressive as the process! You don't just look good in the new pic, you look FIERCE! (Sarge told me the reason your laces were red was 'cuz you dipped them in the blood of every pound killed? Really?)
PacSunMama: Another great set of before and after, the one sweet and the after sassy! You are lovely in both, btw --- excellent reward! (and you will be easier to find when we do forest missions)
Chickadee: Your dinner sounds yummy --- thanks for the idea! And kudos on fighting off the Lemon Cheesecake, not that the outcome was ever in doubt!
Riestrella: Have fun on your run and have fun out tonight. Good thing you aren't drinking, because I hear you like to fight when drunk and with your Sarge training, you could kill someone! You only get to kill when you are with US, young lady!
Envelope: An EASY 3 miler? Do you think you're fooling us? We know that will include all the explosive dashes you use to surprise a pound of fat and trample it beneath your elegant feet!
CheshireCat: if not now, it's usually never --- another great AM message from our platoon's own award-winning graffiti-ist. Food for the head, not the fat.
Sarge: Doubling up, Ma'am, and not doubling over ---- at least not until I try that set of exercises from Madam Butt-erfly. Thanks for that shrimp recipe -- it looks easy and yummy.
K3ll3y: Thanks for making me snort water onto the keyboard! Better not show your mom Reso's pix --- she would faint at the number of "bumps" on that mainframe.
Got my water, got my food planned out for the day and the open road (ok, the dang tredmill) is calling. If not now, when? Its Whomp-A-Pound Wednesday, so don't hold back!
Humpity-Hump
It's morning time so don't be a
slumpity-lump.
Get up and out and
JUMP, JUMP, JUMP!
Chesh: Love this and your poster
Reso: OMG man . . . HOT DAYUM!! (Yup that's all I can say )
Skinny: OMG . . . you are too funny . . .
K3: Great story . . . yup, dips will give you bumps
Ok, sorry, but just a quickie this AM. I ran in the T-storm last night and felt INVINCIBLE!!! LOVE THAT FEELING!!! Off on a bike ride and then some . . . ummmmm paperwork type duties are pressing, so I must take care of those . . . ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGH, I hate paperwork . . .
OK, I'm off on the bike . . . LATER ALL
HUMP YOUR BUTT-ERS TODAY!!

@Reso - Your pictures are just mind boggling! Amazing achievement. Do you have to pinch yourself sometimes?
@Dreamer - You can do it! C25K is awesome and you will feel so great when you finish it.
@PacSun - Great makeover. I love the new hair colour!
@K3 - great story and even greater success!
@DZack - nice to hear the dog is looking better. I was so sick to my stomach when my kitty got attacked a few weeks ago. I feel with you!
@Skinny - geez, you crack me up! Keep the comments coming!
I have a SV and a NSV today. SV: The scale seems to be moving again. I hope it will show on Sunday too! NSV: I went out for lunch yesterday to a fancy pizza place (thin crust, not many toppings kind of stuff) and ate only half a pizza (must be a first in my life time) and brought the other half home for BF. I am still in awe I was able to do that. I felt full but it is my favourite food and I never, never eat anything less than a full pizza. So YAY!
I'm having trouble eating. It's like I'm just not interested in food at all. I keep making myself have something from time to time so that I don't mess up my metabolism too bad, but I'm really struggling to eat 1200 calories and my goal is 1300-1500. Do any of you ever get like this? Any advice on how to get over this?
Josey -- Glad to hear the scale is being more cooperative.
Skinny -- I know, unfortunately you can't take puppies running until they are 18 months old, so it'll be long walks and playing in the park until then.
DZackery -- I am so glad to hear Poncho is doing a bit better!
PacSun - How nice to get a date night with hubby. Good luck with recreating the recipes! If you get a good thing going for the yam dish, let me know! I love yams. And your photos look great!! I love seeing how people change their facial expressions and body language as they lose weight...you definitely look happy!
Reso - Your laces are fantastic! Are red laces like red cars....do they go faster??
Chickadee - nothing wrong with making a treat like cheesecake work into your day! Everything in moderation, including moderation.
Riestrella - enjoy the sober night out with friends!
Chesh - great poster this morning! Well, they're all great but I particularly like today's question. I refuse to be a slumpity lump today!
K3 - great story!
DZack - I'm glad Poncho is on the upswing.
Gooey - Watch out for paper cuts! I'm also jealous of your thunderstorm. We haven't had a good one in quite a few weeks here.
josey - Was it Famoso?? I absolutely love Famoso! I'm glad your scale is moving again.
Anon - On days when my appetite is lower, I try to include some more calorically dense foods (nuts, nut butters, avocado, olive oil, etc) to make up the difference.
I dragged my hubby and my dog out for a "family bonding walk" last night. Both of them fought me at the beginning (even the dog, he just wanted to nap) but they ended up having a good time. It was so nice to see so many people out on the streets running, walking, biking and spending time outside....way more than usual. I think around here we always start to get a little desperate to enjoy the last gasps of summer before the long, depressing winter sets in.
I went shopping yesterday and bought some new pants (jeans for $17 at Old Navy!) because cooler weather is creeping in on us. I bought a pair of SIZE 10 PANTS! They're a little tight because my stomach is still a bit swollen, but they fit!! I was also able to cross off another clothing-related NSV by buying my first ever pair of boots. I have ALWAYS wanted a pair of knee high leather boots and I finally can wear them! Oh I am so desperate for the next chilly day to wear my new skinny jeans and boots!
Eating and exercise are right on track so far this week. I'm actually eating less than usual because I'm not finding myself hungry. Hubby and I are on day 4 of trying paleo-style eating for a week and I have completely cut grains out of my diet for this week. I was curious what it would be like, but it has been quite easy thanks to the plethora of amazing fruits and veg available now. I'm also always feeling satisfied by the higher protein, higher fat (good fats) meals that we've been eating. I'm curious to see how this will play out when we're both more active (I'm still just walking and DH is tapering before his half marathon this Sunday).
