I'm so sorry. That was never one of my problems. I had a couple problems going on. 1. I was in denial that calories mattered. I liked a lot of high calorie foods like mac & cheese, pizza, McDonald's. 2., I was in denial about portion sizes.

3. I have this mentality that I can buy a gallon of ice cream, then I feel guilty for having purchased it so the best thing to do is eat it quickly to get it out of the house, right? I never sat and ate the thing in one sitting, but I would indulge daily until it was gone, and a serving wasn't exactly a good serving because..well...see reason number 2.
I got that under control by eating more frequently. Six meals of equal calorie amounts works better for me than three main meals because I nibble A LOT in between. The first week was hard, but I knew if I could just stay strong that first week, I'd be good to go, and it was true. Now it's not hard at all. It's just what is. Also, I take very small bites. At first I would serve myself my old "normal" portion, and then put half back, eating slowly and savoring each bite. My sixth meal is usually dessert, so I'm not denying myself anything. I try to have a full glass of water with each mini-meal to help with a feeling a fullness.
I hope at least one of those tips comes in handy!
