Cherry7211 on reaching ONDERLAND! It must feel great.

Hope everyone is doing well!

I didn't do so well. But will keep trying. This is kind of embarassing since I started this challenge and I probably gained the most weight so far.

Yeah Cherry! Congratulations on working your way out of the challenge! That's two of us now, right? Wahoo!

Krista, I love thinking of my weight that way. I have lost 100 sticks of butter! When my weight loss matches my 8 year old's weight, I plan to take a picture of me holding him on the scale. He's 71 pounds right now. (He's my TALL 8 year old...and skinny as a rail)

Vicki Lou, this is a horrible time to try to lose! But come on, you can do it! Kick the holidays far behind you and start that trip for Onederland!

I will weigh again just before New Year's. I'm afraid to weigh right now anyway! 1) After such a huge loss this week, I'm afraid the scale will rebound. 2) We did just have the holidays and that was two back to Christmas's for us. 3) I'm back on plan until New Year's so it doesn't make any difference anyway and if I weigh just before New Year's food comes along, it just might motivate me to be good.

I managed to lose a pound, thanks! I weighed in on the day before Christmas because I didn't want to weigh AFTER Christmas. LOL! And here we are mid-week, and I've lost a pound. But I feel really good about it because I lost 8 lbs last week and was pretty sure the scale would rebound. But nope, it's still going down.

I am glad to see some of us leaving the thread already...I hope to see you ladies around other threads, but may you never again need this one

I have lost a few pounds, not much, but I am counting it a victory over the holidays to lose at all! I have put holidays behind and moving forward. No huge plans for new years so it should not derail me YAY! back to normal...finally!

I'm so sorry. That was never one of my problems. I had a couple problems going on. 1. I was in denial that calories mattered. I liked a lot of high calorie foods like mac & cheese, pizza, McDonald's. 2., I was in denial about portion sizes. 3. I have this mentality that I can buy a gallon of ice cream, then I feel guilty for having purchased it so the best thing to do is eat it quickly to get it out of the house, right? I never sat and ate the thing in one sitting, but I would indulge daily until it was gone, and a serving wasn't exactly a good serving because..well...see reason number 2.

I got that under control by eating more frequently. Six meals of equal calorie amounts works better for me than three main meals because I nibble A LOT in between. The first week was hard, but I knew if I could just stay strong that first week, I'd be good to go, and it was true. Now it's not hard at all. It's just what is. Also, I take very small bites. At first I would serve myself my old "normal" portion, and then put half back, eating slowly and savoring each bite. My sixth meal is usually dessert, so I'm not denying myself anything. I try to have a full glass of water with each mini-meal to help with a feeling a fullness.

I hope at least one of those tips comes in handy!
