Hello All

JD-Im right there with ya girl on the grocery shopping, i took a list with me friday and spent 107$ for an entire 7days of food, got 6 dinner meals, things for lunch and breakfast...snacks for the kids. It can really go a long way! Awesome job on your 16 dollar meal. Im trying to talk the kids into pizza for my higher calorie meal tomorrow....no such luck yet( I think there sick of it,lol). DH and I are going to have us a couple of drinks tomorrow too:devil: oh and thanks on my pic..its a local nature reserve that we take the kids too, i love walking on nature trails.

angleskeep-Yay on your 3lb weight loss! You can do it!!!

MKY-Congrats on yoru 2.4loss...thats awesome! I use to love my diet cokes too..i still drink about two cans a day.

Jigglefree-so cute about your toddler working out with you...sorry the detox didn't do too well.

Lori-maybe a Respiratory Therapist can help( i don't know if you have seen one or not?) I will keep you in my thoughts( speaking of,i thought of you last night when i was painting my nails, lol, i found some adorable flower stickers to put on them)

Fruitlady-i know how your feeling..its tough getting control and then staying in control..you can do it! For me,i had to figure out why i was binging(or over eating,or just not wanting to stay on plan) Im sure you will be just fine:hug:Good luck!

Hello to everyone..gotta scoot..im hungry:p

hello

hey angelskeep, yeah your profile says you joined on the 8th, so I'd have thought today, but maybe you have to get through today...so tomorrow? you'll have to go look, the option should be available when you are there... you certainly are active enough too :)

soo.... here I am...I ate too much of what I shouldn't be eating yesterday... so I'm burning it off today, and it looks like it's working. No way I'll make my goal but getting close would be ok.

fruitlady 03-28-2010 04:30 PM

Doing good today, I'm staying on track now cause I'm really scared I'll gain more weight. When I get too close to 110lbs. I panic. Had 1050 cal. today and 4lbs to lose for the challenge.

This weekend has been super busy!

I hosted a wedding shower yesterday morning and I didn't eat a piece of cake! I ate a few dark chocolate covered cashews (5 to be exact) and several dark chocolate covered blueberries - yummm.

Last night we attended a charity silent auction and dinner and I was a bit worried about what we'd be eating. It worked out terrific! It was dinner salad, grilled chicken (I ate about half), a baked potato and green beans. The dessert was chocolate meringue pie and I ate less than half of it and only from the skinny end. So I felt great about that dinner. We won one of the items we bid on so that was fun too.

This morning I sang in church for the first time in two years, so I was a bit nervous about that. It meant I had to be there by 8:15 because we have two services and I had to sing in both. So I was up at 5:30 to get me and the whole family ready to leave on time. OH! I forgot to tell y'all about my new dress!! I got a size L 12/14!!! And this is the first time people were commenting left and right about how much weight I've lost. I guess getting new clothes helped it be more noticeable. Plus I was up in front of the whole church AND at early service which I haven't gone to since my son was born 20 months ago LOL. So lots of people saw me who haven't seen me in a long time.

After church we had our church easter egg hunt/picnic and although they were grilling out hotdogs and had yummy chips, cookie, sodas I was still OP! I packed my yummy turkey, avacado, tomato sandwich on whole wheat; baked tostitos and an apple with diet coke.

Now, tonight my daughter has a play she's in, at least there's no food involved with that! And then our busy weekend will be over with! Until next weekend LOL.

Jiggle: I'm sorry you were disappointed in you cleanse thing. I've never done one, I'm a chicken about stuff like that.

Ncnuneo: I don't think I've told you yet how excited I am that you met your 100 pounds lost this week! That is beyond wonderful!! I'm so proud of you.

Lori: I totally know what you're going through with breathing problems. We lived in a mobile home while we were having our house built and that MH had mold terribly and we were all sick the whole time we were there. I'd definitley ask your doctor about seeing a respiratory therapist! If you're still having such a terrible time after being away from that house, you may need a bit more help to get over it. By the way, I too noticed that 158.8 on your ticker!! That is so awesome you made it over that hump and you're just moving right on down again!

Fruit: Maybe you can put an encouraging sign on the fridge or pantry to help yourself choose something more healthy when you get the munchies? See if you can figure out what is triggering these slip ups. Maybe keep a note pad on the counter to write what you're feeling or what's going on when the urge strikes?

JDon: Great job on your "cheap date" and your self control. I LOVED that movie, the Pursuit of Happyness. It was so inspiring.

MissPriss: You did great on that grocery shopping! I try to do well, but you've got me beat! That snack stuff for the kids really adds up! Plus, my hubby counts my paper stuff, vitamins, diapers, etc as grocery money! I tell him that stuff is seperate than food! This past time at Super Walmart, I put my items on the belt in categories so he could see the breakdown LOL. I put all non-food stuff on first then the food.

MKY: Yay for you on that 2.4 pounds. That's what I count as a great week's loss so that is wonderful. I totally get you on the diet sodas. I never drank that many a day, but I'd get up to 4 sometimes! Now I'm trying to only have one a day and only on the weekends.

Nightangel: Great work on the 3 pounds lost! That is so awesome.

I've got to run, y'all have a great Sunday night!

julesp313 03-28-2010 06:41 PM

Ack, I haven't had time to keep up with everyone in here. Sucks! Still, this should be the last crazy weekend for work, at least for now, thank goodness. Husband is home for spring break (he's in school in LA so he comes home about every third weekend) so we had to make some grocery choices yesterday - he wants to lose weight as well so he was open to some healthy options. The store had a demo going on and I normally don't eat from a demo "kitchen" but we tried this wrap yesterday and it was SO good, I bought all the items. It's a jalapeno and cilantro wrap (110 cals) with guac (40 cals), 3oz chicken (130 cals) and some low fat cheese (45 cals). Really tasty, really filling, and both DH and I loved it. I think if I add a side salad of greens, tomato, celery, etc, with balsamic vinegar for dressing, it'll be an excellent lunch. Had friends over yesterday and we BBQ'd burgers and dogs - I had one of each, which is unusual for me (normally have Boca burgers) but I had a light lunch so I could have these for dinner, so I did at least plan ahead! Now I'm sucking down water like it's going out of style because I had far too much sodium yesterday and I know if I don't flush it out, my workout tomorrow is going to be harder than I even want to think about!

Priscatip 03-28-2010 06:56 PM

I'd love to join in on the Arbor Day Challenge if I can! My goal is to lose 8 pounds to get me down to 150 even (that would be a dream come true!!), and goal number two is to do 500 situps, pushups, and squats each by April 30. They will be my feats of strength!!

thundahthighs 03-28-2010 07:30 PM

I'm here! I'm in! I want to do it too!!! Me too!

When is Arbor Day?

I made 175lbs, but almost a week after St Pats... I'm working my way to 160-155. In other news, life is beyond bananas for me right now. Keeps my eating in line (I have to sit still to eat, so being on the go means I'm not noshing.) but my exercise is not where I like it to be.
Although I have been focusing on different types of circuit and cross training, and have enjoyed the results.

Even with being on plan with food and exercise (including a 3 hour hike this weekend) I have managed to lose NO weight this week. I'm so bummed. Hitting a brick wall again. I think maybe its because my water intake has been so bad. So that's my goal this week. To drink my daily water and keep going with food and exercise. Hope everyone has a good start to the week.

jigglefree 03-29-2010 09:19 AM

Me On Happy!!!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!

:cheer2::cheer3::cheer2::cheer3: Lets get these bodies going!!! We have destinations to get to. Plans for when we get to those goals. So lets go go go!!!

I woke up this morning thinking I'm not making as much progress in this challenge but that's not so. It's only been two weeks since we started this challenge. I still have 4 weeks or so to go. I will be at my loose 18/muffin top 16.

What's on tap for today. Anyone got some NSV/Scale News. I'm just pumped up today. My husband told me by the feel of my sides the rolls are much smaller. WHOOOOO!!!:hug: I love him.

On another happy note: I used to do a side measurement with my hand laying on my side to see how big my belly was and it would extend a little past my finger tips. Well last night I actually did it for the first time since I started this wonderful journey and it stops where the palm of my hand and fingers meet. YAAY :carrot::carrot: And I noticed yesterday that my hips are no longer as wide as the baby's stroller. That was a wonderful surprise.:high: Okay so you all can tell I'm excessively pumped today. For those of you that are new to me...I'm often this way so charge it to my nature!!

angelskeep 03-29-2010 09:31 AM

Jigglefree, good morning and good news from you. Lots of little victories. I am just waking up this mornign and waiting for the coffee to brew. I think we are supposed to have wind gusts up to 50 mph today, so riding the bicycle is right on out. I'll walk around town to do errands instead. I may have to sit on the curb at ever block, but I WILL move this not so small backside today.

Hope everyone has a greeat day/week.

Barb

mkyice 03-29-2010 09:51 AM

Jigglefree, It's bedtime for me here in Japan, but I am going to have to reread your post in the morning to get me motivated for the day. You are a big burst of motivational sunshine! Keep the posts coming.

aluxa 03-29-2010 11:33 AM

Jigglefree: thanks and :goodluck: with your search for a new plan and :congrat: for your achievements.

Jdonato: I do not know why in my college the dissertation project is called capstone of thesis or dissertation. It may be because students can choose to do an art project too instead of a traditional dissertation. I should be honest and I’m really afraid of not only because English is my second language but also because the format used in English is totally different to the format used in Spanish.

Susieyard: :congrat: on your new size :)

Priscatip
and thundahthighs: :welcome:

Lori: Yes, when the weather is changing is the worse. I also have problems when we have high humidity levels and summers are worse than winter. The sad thing is that my breath problems are because my mother was a heavy smoker and the second hand smoke was there during all my childhood and teen years. to you too!

Angelskeep: :congrat: for you ticker!

Veronique 03-29-2010 03:11 PM

I'm brand spankin' new to 3fatchicks but I want to be in on this challenge. I am starting a little late so I will set a small goal for myself. I will lose 7 lbs for Arbor Day....and plant a tree!

Now I need to get some of those cool picture thingies that everyone else has at the bottom of their posts. Oh well...the dancing carrot will do for now.
:carrot:
