This thread sure does move fast.
Well, I'm going to start Alli tomorrow. Only thing is, they want me to have 1,800 calories a day! I might as well give it a try for a week. I really wanna lose weight this summer. They say have a 400 calorie breakfast, but all I even want is a bowl of Special K, which at it's most is 200 calories, so I'm gonna reduce my diet calorie level a tad. I'm kind of nervous about the whole thing, so wish me luck! Today for breakfast I had Special K, and for lunch I'm making a grilled chicken sandwich and baked potato. Special K Meal was around 200 cals with milk and 3 grams of fat. The breakfast standard for Alli was 400 cals and 12 grams of fat. Lunch meal is about 600 cals and 8 grams of fat. Alli says have a 600 cal meal with 18 grams of fat. Well, I don't start the pills until Sunday, so I have more time to research. I've seen good reviews and bad reviews, so I'm not sure. Any input from you gals would be appreciated if you don't mind. Thanks so much! Lara ~ Ew gross on the lice thing. I remember in like 6th grade my mom thought I had lice and treated me with lice stuff but I didn't even have it! I was into hairspray at the time and according to the nurse it was "product build up". Hah. And :carrot: on the 7lbs!! I gotta run! Lunch's ready. Talk to y'all later. Bye! |
I guess I shouldn't have gotten so excited. Today I was up 2 1/4 lbs from yesterday :(
And I was really good yesterday..around 1300 cals and lots of movement. But, I did have BBQ meat with a commercial marinade on it. I wonder if it's the sodium making me retain?? Geez I know weight flucuates but the thing that boths me is now I don't even know if I really was 2lbs less yesterday or I was just hallucinating. :dizzy: Plus the past 2-3 weeks have been kinda rough so I haven't made a lot of progress..pretty much treading water. I would really like to see a loss this week. Going to drink like a fishie today and hope for something good tomorrow!! ;) |
Theresa thanks for showing the numbers, very impressive! Shows what can be done.Congratulations on your 24 pound loss.

Hi Girls
Yesterdays numbers were Calories: 1361 Fiber: 43 Water intake:96 oz. Has any one here heard of a bug called The canadian soldier? YUK! and Double Yuk! :p We got out of bed to see our house covered in them. Almost black, in places. here is a link about them. Still they are good (if we get lots of them, it means the lake is clean! ) and They are NOT lice. ;) http://www.northcountrytrail.org/news/mayfly1.htm Natalia, I understand about the weight fluctuations. I have been doing that more lately myself. Try to do as some here tell me. Watch the sodium intake and drink lots of water to wash it out. Charlene, I eat about 400 calories every morning. But I spread them out with my am snack. Good luck with your pills. I took them yrs ago. I had the prescription from a dr. Lost lots of weight...but... I had to watch how much of it I took. it DID cause the wet explosions! And it stained the clothes too. Dont take the full amount to start maybe. See how you do. Lara, Good luck with your teeth. I hope it goes well. and big good Luck with you monthly weigh in. I can't wait to see the results. :D Zenor, I hope you feel better today. I have had the same head ache and some tummy troubles all week. I feel Good today! ;) Well I have a million bugs to clean up later ladies. |
Charlene ~ Sorry I can't help you. I have never heard of Alli before, I thought you were talking to someone. HAHAHAHA! That was good for you on the hair spray because they don't like hair that has stuff in it because they can't get their eggs to stick.
Natalia ~ Yes, BBQ can have lots of sodium and calories but I love the stuff. Mrs. Dash has some marinades that are low sodium I do believe. I have never tried them before but have heard they are good. Littlered ~ Yes, I have seen them before around our house but never like what you described. The things give me the creaps. DH said they make good fish bait but I will pass. Thanks for the luck at the dentist. I am so nervous and just want it over with. Well I am off and will talk at you all tomorrow. |
Snack Away?
Has anyone seen the new snack cakes in the bread isle called "Snack Away"?
They have 140 to 150 cals. each and have 7 - 9 grams of fiber. I've tried the blueberry muffins and the chocolate cupcakes. They are not bad!!! I'm always looking for anything high in fiber. I'm noticing that new items are added here and there...I just have to go from store to store sometimes to find them. The Quaker Oats Breakfast Cookie is not bad...also the All Bran snack crackers are really good. I'd love to know if anyone has tried any of the new pastas that are higer in fiber? |
Hey there everyone!!! Wow, I'm so glad it's Wednesday!! I've been busier than a bee!
GrammyL- Wow, I'm sorry to hear about the lice problem....I went and looked at what it looked like again....and yuck! Good luck to DD!! Well I also told DF that I really want to look nice before I go down to CA to see my mom. I'm not expecting a miracle, but am expecting to look better than I did last year! Good Luck at the Dentist!!!!! Petra- Yeah the last time I ate Mc D's I was pretty sick too, I felt so bloated and well bloated! LOL! CoolMom- Yay!!!! Congratulations! Hey did you or Petra catch Deadliest Catch last night? I started on the Season Finale but was too sleepy! LittleRed- Thanks for tallying up our losses so far!! That's pretty awesome from a group perspective!! Canadian Soldiers? I'll have to read your article link later? I glanced at your post earlier and thought you were talking about real soldiers! LOL :joker: Natalia- I sure it's water retention, I had the same problem two days ago, I went to weigh myself and I ballooned up two lbs, but then lost it. LOL Salt will do that to you! Zenor- I hope you feel better!!!! GeorgiaLady- I honestly haven't heard of these things, but will look into it! Well DF and I are gearing up to do a Cancer Walk for my company. It's on Sunday, and we're suppose to get some rain. We're going to walk 3.1 miles, and it's up hill, down hill, and flat. LOL! So I've been working out more in case I need to do some jogging if it rains hard! LOL Well have a great night guys! |
Hi ladies!
It has been a while. Life has been crazy with work issues, sickness issues, etc. Work is finally calming down and we are all healthy now. Yay! I am excited to finally be under 200. I know that my current weight is higher than some of your starting weights, which makes me feel like a real heffer, but I am so happy that I am moving in the right direction. 180s look out cause here I come and I won't be visiting long! Today was a bit of a challenge because of a work potluck. I am 100 calories over the 1600 per day that I strive for. I have been struggling with my jogging lately in the heat, but I have a lead on a used treadmill that I might actually be able to afford. I'm hoping to pick it up this weekend. My I'd-like-to-wear-when-I-lose-a-few-pounds-pants not only fit but they are too big! A skirt that I haven't been able to fit is on the verge of being too big. I don't own any pants with non-baggy butts anymore. For some reason I have no clothes in the next size down but I have some new with tags (but a year or two old) size 12s just waiting for me. I got them as a gift way back when and couldn't return them. If I can get down to the 170 range then I will fit them. It would be great if I could time that to hit in the fall when I'll need to start wearing long pants more often and just get by in skirts and baggy pants until then. If the treadmill thing works out, I just may pull it off. Little red, We have those nasty bugs here too. I think their season ended a few weeks ago though. They are nasty. Thank god the house wasn't covered, just portions of the front door. When I opened the door some would come in and get on the wall by the entry. Yuck! We call them fish flys. Lara, Seven pounds is awesome! |

Hi everyone It;s been a couple days since iv'e been on..... i have heard of alli too my mom had something like it perscribed to her from the doctor called meridia and alli is the same thing only in a smaller dose...When my mom took it she lost 30lbs in one summer, it made her really energetic and she was never hungry, but i do have to warn you it does make you go to the bathroom alot, especially if you eat junk foods. I think i might try it, i was excited to hear it came out as an over the counter pill. so how is everyone? I sort of went off my diet for about 4 days...It was a hectic week, i didnt gain any weight back but tonight i got my butt up and ran for an hour. Hope iu can stay on track.
Little red-I havent ever heard of those bugs before ive heard of june bugs but the ones we have here in Wisconsin dont look like that Charlene-let me know how Alli works for you? and your right 1,800 calories sounds like alot i dont think i ever eat that many calories in a day that would be hard for me... |
LoveMyBoy- Hey there good to see you again!!! :D Don't worry, I was 204 when I started dieting. You'll see the 180's in no time. I don't plan on staying long though! LOL Good to hear that you're feeling

I actually had a funny incident this morning, I was dressing and decided to wear some capris that didn't fit last year, well it did, but was very tight, well I walked down stairs and it fell off! LOL They were tight so I thought they would be just right! LOL :o Well I finally decided to put a face to the name....LOL I figured it was only fair. LOL |

Hi
todays numbers. Got to be accountable. ;) Cal: 1479 Fiber: 41 Water: 13 glasses, 104 oz. Curves and some workouts at home. sleep tight. I know I will. |
I've lost track off the posts, there's so many! Um. . .I loved the chart of weight loss that I think littlered (?) did. Thanks. It was interesting.
I've eaten well the past couple of days, staying right on track - ever since my bridal shower Mexican food adventure. :) Down another pound, too. I'm happy about that considering I was beating myself up over the bridal shower food. phew! I start summer vacation tomorrow until the 2nd. I'm a little put off by that because it's easier for me to keep track and behave with my eating at work. I just bring all my food and have no other temptation there. At home it is harder to not stray from my eating plan. So I have my fingers crossed that I'll keep it up. Have a great night Ladies!! |
Calories for today~ 1459
Fiber~ 43 grams (without hf cereal or any beans!) I'm finally feeling a bit better tonight! Thanks for all the well wishes! I think this is funny, so I'm going to share. I ordered shoes online last week and they just arrived. The company that makes the shoes is in Santa Barbara (a little over an hour from here) and they were shipped from Chicago! I know the factory is in SB, so I think it's funny that they came all that way! Talk about a waste of transportation costs! Oh, well, they are cute and I got a really good discount. Littlered~ Um, gross! That kind of imagery makes me think of biblical plauges! Lovemyboy~ :yay: Congrats on getting under 200lbs!!! I rewarded myself with a sparkley nose piercing after I got under 200. Watch out! You'll be in those 12's before you know it. Oh, and don't feel like a heifer! At my heaviest I weighed 230 (a few years ago.) GeorgiaLady~ Barilla Plus Pasta is good. It has more fiber and it tastes like white pasta. I also like Trader Joe's ww organic pasta (not sure if you have TJ's in Georgia though.) Also, for egg-type noodles I really like Healthy Harvest ww noodles. They seem to cook up moister than some of the other brands (I don't like dry noodles personally.) Tinky~ Nice to see a face! I plan on taking more picture soon and I'll probably change my avatar as well. Grammy~ 7 POUNDS! That is awesome! :bravo: Congrats to any other losses I've missed! |
