Calories for today~ 1458
Fiber~ 34 grams I went out and got a new multi-vitamin today. It's a prenatal, but it was the only one that good %'s of everything (I thought DH was going have a heart attack. Lol.) I went searching for a liquid that had a good amount of iron and zinc in it. I've been losing more hair then usual this last week and I've read that it could be a deficiency in iron or zinc. Since, I rarely (if ever) eat meat, I thought that was a logical place to start. Or it could have nothing to do with diet and it could just be stress. It's freaking me out. I do have a lot of hair, so it's not a huge deal at this point, but it's my hair!!! On a non-freaking note, my 30th birthday is rapidly approaching. I've watched several friends completely lose it and get depressed over turning the big 3-0. I don't get it. I'm not even phased. I don't think being 30 is going to be that bad. Maybe I'm just weird? edzard~ How many calories are you trying for per day? That might help with the calorie suggestions for camping. Chili can be healthy, it can be high in calorie, but if you get a vegetarian kind it's not so bad. I like to put a bit on top of a small baked potato. You could buy some smaller potatoes for you and larger ones for the rest of the family and you can just throw them in the fire (I love easy.) You can also make veggie foil packets and throw those on the fire too. Some other good ideas might be baked tortilla chips & salsa, veggie dogs (I swear they taste the same and some are only 50 cals each), pretzels, etc. I think it's okay to eat some junk food, just watch your portions very carefully. Plus, if you go hiking you'll burn all those calories off. :D Coolmom~ Those tacos sound yummy! I'll have to try them. Awesome job everyone on the losses! To all the new girls :welcome3: This is a great group, very supportive and encouraging! |
Good Evening everyone!!!
Calories 1600 Fiber 31 Grams Had a productive day, though I took it off. I'm still on a walking high from our cancer walk yesterday, so I decided to walk the lake by our house, it's about 2.8 miles all the way around and I did it TWICE! I'm definitely feeling the soreness tonight! LOL! Great job to those of you who lose!! I'm avoiding the scale until this weekend. I had too much sodium this past weekend and feel awfully bloated. Edzard- Camping sounds like so much fun. You can always buy baked chips. And atleast allow yourself to have a "junk" moment! Reward yourself with a S'more, but to make it less of a guilt burden, treat youself after a day of hiking! I did that when we went on a all day hike. It was just heaven! Zenor- LOL about DH and the vitamins. I don't think DF would be surprised by anything that I bring home in that nature. He's the one that happily carried my TOM stuff out of Sam's Club with my DB in tow! LOL Well going to head to bed soon, I'm wiped!! Good Night everyone! |
OKAY!!! I;m going nuts!!! I keep going off track does anyone have any pointers on how to stay on this diet and keep walking????

Calories for Monday: 1569
Fiber: 49 Water: 14 glasses. 112 oz. 160 pounds again. at least it stopped going up. Edzard: Congrats on 7 pounds down! That fantastic.:carrot::carrot: Have fun with your family, when you go camping. Life is short and kids grow up fast. soon they will be saying…“No. I don’t want to go. that’s for little kids” how old are they? Zenor, Good luck with the vitamins, That was funny about the prenatal vitamins.:D I can just see his face? Did he ask… My hair while thick too… has also been coming out more than normal for me. I just felt it was because of the hormones that I just weaned myself from. Maybe I need to check out the vitamins too. July 5th …right? 30 yrs old! WoWie !!! :fr: ;) to be there again! I am not worried about turning 50 either. Its just a number. and you can’t do any good worrying about it. So congrats for you on not freaking. My sis in law. turned 25 many yrs. ago. her coworkers, did not know how old she was. but she was so freaked. that they threw her a 40th. birthday party!! I always thought that was so funny. Are you down 2 more?! Congrats! :carrot: your just a few from your goal. maybe 2 weeks to go? Meg, don’t go nuts. We all have days we go off track. You just have to get back on, the next day. Don’t beat yourself up. It won’t help anyway. Eat well, So you have energy, and make yourself get up to walk. It is a fight for most of us…every day. I fight to make my self move EVERY day. but I am glad when I do. And I feel better and more energetic when I do. Which is what I am going to do right now. eat and go out to the garage and use my elliptical. and ab lounge. later. |
Thanks guys for the advise, actually I might try to find a way to make shish kabobs, but we use a tent trailer and camping stoves so I am not sure....
My DD is 8 and DS is 6, I am hoping they want to do stuff a bit longer than the average kid because we homeschool so there is no pressure from outside influence (as much anyway) about things being "dumb". We have already started to notice with them and some cousins just a year or two older that they don't have the same opinions as some of the kids their age. But I know what you mean we have some nieces and nephews (lots actually ;) ) that we went camping with 2 years ago and they are in their teens and we are in canada looking at these gorgeous mountains "there rocks can we leave" come across a beautiful waterfall like you have never seen before "water going over rocks, yea, can we go" lol SOOO much fun! Makes you want to punt kick their hormonal little booties over said waterfall. Have a great day all! |
Thanks littlered........
Its really hot out this week in Wisconsin...Anyone else dying from the heat? I better go for aq walk before it gets too hot out, i'll talk to you all later |
After much slowness, I finally went down this week - 2.4 pounds. I can actually change my avatar to the 25 pound chick. I think I might just go do that right now.
I've been sticking to my calorie range, although I ran out of fiber cereal so my fiber is going to be much lower today. Has anyone seen that tv ad for a triple burger from Wendys? No, it doesn't look good to me. It looks obscene. Everytime I see it, the calorie calculator in my head starts trying to figure out how many calories are in that thing. So, I went to the Wendy's site and looked it up. It says 980 calories and 59 grams of fat - yipes! Zenor - I had to laugh about your prenatal vitamin story. I buy them too, for the same reason - they have the most iron, zinc and other nutrients in them. They are also less expensive then a non-prenatal multivitamin like Centrum. I thought you might get a kick to know that my DH takes them too. It took me about a year of convincing but his inner tightwad finally saw the light. I mean there isn't any estrogen in them or anything. |

Lol. That is funny. Just make sure your DH isn't getting too much iron. Men overdose easier on iron; they don't have monthly depletion like we do. ;) |
Hey there! I hope everyone is having a Happy Tuesday! Well I decided to give it another couple of days before I tweak things on my diet and exercise. The scale has not budged, it could be from the salt binge I had this weekend! Or other things. Oh well....I'm not going to fret too much about it!
Littlered- that is quite funny about your sister!!! Meg- I had trouble in the beginning with exercise, I did one day, but did not keep it up. You have to keep telling yourself that the weight will not come off by itself. And once you start losing you will want to exercise more. It's a great motivator. Lovemyboy- OMG DF bought one of those burgers, I could feel my arteries clog up! It just looked so unappetizing! Really! Ugh it just makes me feel so heavy! LOL Well I hope everyone has a great rest of the day! |
Meg
yes its hot! here too. about 90. another hot one in the morning. I do my work outs in the a.m. before it gets hot. And in front of a fan and a tv. ;) in the garage. Meg, I just looked at your pic in your profile. what a cute dress. you look adorable. Lovemyboy, Yeah! 25 down. :carrot:keep it up girl. I did not see the wendy’s burger, but I just did a check the other day, on kfc. My hubby wants kfc. I told him to get some on the way to work. I will not eat it. My 1 pc. with a breast dinner, is almost 1000. 64 gr. of fat ! No way! :dizzy: |
I went to a salon today and I'm going to get my hair chemically straightened permanently on July 9th! I'm so excited. It's my only birthday present. It's $400! Can you believe that? It's $750 in Atlanta, so I guess I'm better off here. Guess how long it takes? 4/5 HOURS! Imagine that. I have to be there by 800 so I hope I can get up the early. Summer's getting the best of me.
It's getting hot here too. It was 93 today, and the forecaster was like, "Chilly today, hmm?" I bought an exercising DVD on Amazon called "Walk Away The Pounds." Anyone heard of it? It has rave reviews and seems pretty good. Zenor ~ You should watch the episode of "Friends" called The One Where Everyone Turns 30. It's quite funny. =P I'm off to watch the lake house. Bye! |
Calories for today~ 1454
Fiber~ 26 grams My fiber has been way too low the last few days. We have been running low on veggies. Good thing we get our CSA box tomorrow. Also, since we will probably end up moving out of state I've been trying to use up what we have in the house. When we run out we are out until after the move (except for basics.) This may be hard though. I'm almost out of high fiber cereal. DH had another phone interview today with a school in Washington state. There is one more school we are waiting to hear from and then we have to wait to see if he gets an offer. I hate all this waiting! Charlene~ I looked to see if tv-links had that episode of friends, but they don't. :?: I'm going to ask around see if anyone has it on DVD. Friends was a great show. How exciting to get your hair straightened! I always wanted to do that, but I've finally given in to my hair and I kinda like my curls now. Littlered~ No, he didn't ask. We have a "plan" and I think he might have thought I was upping the schedule. Lol. Right now would not be a good time. It was really funny. Meg~ Sometimes it is easier to make slow lifestyle changes instead of just jumping in. Little things will start adding up after awhile. As far as walking goes, it was really hard for me to get in the habit too. I didn't do it regularly for quite a while. It was a plateau that made me get into gear. I stopped losing weight and I didn't want to lower my calories yet, so I started walking more. I still have days when I don't want to walk (most days), but I do it anyway. Half way through I'm always glad I did. Hang in there! I know you can do it! BTW, I agree, cute dress! Goodnight everyone! |
why can't I post???!
|
Ah! I had a big post and poof.
They say if you don't freak out about turning 30, 40 will be the tough one and vice versa. 30 was no problem and I can tell already 40 is going to be hard. I'm getting a little freaked that hubby is getting close at 37 (I'll be 32 this year). Charlene, I have the WATP DVD and its pretty good. I'm not doing it as I hoped I would though. And I did learn its a good idea to wear shoes. I figured bare feet in my living room would be okay for a 4 mile walk...umm no. sore feet! My TOPS meeting was cancelled and I was really bummed. I need the support to start my week. But all is good. I made my lentil loaf again today and my cals show 50% from fat today, from the olive oil. LOL Its healthy fats though, so I'm okay with it. |
Really quick post while my little one is sleeping. Vacation foods are going well. It's hard to keep track of every calorie, but I'm trying to keep it simple and healthy. I don't seem to be doing too bad. I'm down another pound. ONE MORE POUND and I'm in the 180's!! :broc: I'm so happy about that. I haven't had much time to exercise, but we were at Disneyland yesterday and were walking practically all day long.
I hope you are all doing well! Have a great day tomorrow. |
