Meg- Kashi Go Lean Crunch is a pretty good cereal! Its a great source of Fiber, but very very Crunchy! LOL I usually eat it with cut up strawberries, or a banana.

GrammyL- Glad to see that MIL is making a bit of progress, but her carotid blockage is definitely scary. On a much lighter note, great job to you for going down another lb!! Woohoo....you and I have about the same numbers.
LOL about the pickle juice though, I really can't look at my pickle jar the same. And half days at work are definitely fun! I love to go home when everyone else is not.

Well I skipped my first snack, I got up late, and everything else is late.....
but here's my menu and calories for today:

B- Kashi Go Lean Crunch with strawberries, and skim milk
S-skipped it
L- salad with imitation crab, and a boiled egg, and barely soup
S- Kashi Trail Mix bar, an orange, string cheese
D-Lean Cuisine Santa Fe Chicken beans and rice, with 1 cup of broccoli and cauliflower
S- cherries

1440 calories today

Thanks everyone for the hugs and well wishes!! I have decide to go into it with a open mind, but I am still not going to show/teach the manager anything. Not my job too.

I love pickles. I love to drink the juice!! LOL I always have loved them. When I was little my parents owned a restaurant and we used to get the hambruger pickles in a big 5 gallon bucket, well I would sit next to them and keep filling up my bowl. I am sure the sodium in them will kill me, but it is really the only vegetable that I eat. I am a VERY picky eater.

Calories today were good. Not as many pickles as yesterday, only 2 spears today. Didn't get any exercise today. DD had a softball game and now I have been reading and watching stuff about JR going to Hendricks, lol... What can I say NASCAR is my passion, lol. Well everyone have a great day.

Oh and Granny- You lucky dog, half days? I wish I could do that, lol. Good for you!!!

Calories for today~ 1437
Fiber~ 41 grams

Grammy~ Half days are great! Have fun with all the extra time off! I hope that your MIL ends up okay! It's good that she's smoking less!

Petra~ I agree that it is not your job to train them, but I think it's good you are keeping a good attitude.

Littlered & Grammy~ :cheer: Woohoo! Congrats to both of you on your scale victories!

Since we are on the subject of pickles... There is a Deli in the town my sister lives in that has THE BEST brined pickles!!! Anytime we go visit, I have to buy pounds of them. It's always a challenge to get home without eating them all! I'd never thought to drink the juice, but I did marinate pork chops in pickle juice once (Yum!) It's my belief that if you pickle it, I will probably eat it! I love fermented foods too! Saurkraut, kim chi, miso, etc.

CJC- Thank you!! It hasn't been easy, but glad to leave the 90's! LOL! SO good to hear from you! Moving is NO fun at all. How are the little ones?

Zenor- Mmmmmm kimchi and miso also my two favorites! Though with Kimchi, the taste stays in your mouth for a while! LOL

Petra- You shouldn't have to train or teach. But glad that you're keeping your head up. It's hard at times.

Well I'm so glad today is Thursday, one more day! I just want this week to end already. I want my weekend! LOL! Have a great day!

Good morning Ladies! I hope that you are all doing well. I lost my first pound. Yay me! :dancer: I know one pound isn't a lot but it's my start, so I am very happy (of course, my husband has lost 3 pounds so far, but I figured he would lose faster than me anyway. I can't feel bad about it. He didn't want to tell me this morning because he didn't want me to be discouraged. ).

Do you ladies reward yourself when you reach a short term goal? I don't think I'll do it with food rewards; I was thinking of buying myself a nice shirt or something from Michael's. A little something that says, "yay! Way to go!" to myself. ;)

There's a lot of pickle talk. I LOVE pickled stuff. It's the taste of the vinegar. It's so good. My mom used to get upset when I was younger because I would eat an entire pickle jar in a couple of days. So she started pickling cucumbers at home. I would have big bowls of pickled cucumbers (with water, salt, sugar, vinegar, and onions). They were soooo good.

Just saying Hi. Been on my June weight loss goal (the ticker) for a week now and I havn't weighed myself yet so I'm going to do it tonight. See how I do. I've been eating 1400 calories day and doing 400 calories exercise so I'm hope to at least notice a change so far. *fingers crossed* I don't know if that little weight loss will show up yet and well yeah I screw up on friday had about 10 oz. of wine and the next thing I knew I was chowing down on crackers and cheese. Gah! Oh well other than that day it's good.

It's soo hot here now it was nearly a 100 degrees yesterday. I've been wearing shorts lately and I keep looking at my legs and I've noticed I have stretch marks from gaining weight. I think It's because I basically starves for 4 weeks before I went to Cuba on spring break and I dropped 20 lbs but they after they rebounded back so fast. I mean on the beach all-inclusive resort drinking margahita and unlimited food BAD IDEA! Haha well I hope I can lose 20 this time again except slower so I can keep it off. Cheers everone hope you have a good day.

Natalia 06-14-2007 02:22 PM

hey music addict, how was Cuba? We are thinking of going for the first ime this January with our 4 year old son, who LOVES the beach/ocean/sand :smug:
Did you like it? Which are did you stay in? I don't know between Varadero and Cayo Coco ?! Any suggestions appreciated!!

bargoo 06-14-2007 02:31 PM

I believe in rewards every 10 pounds. I usually get something like, earrings.
perfume,flowers anything but food.

crafty mommy 06-14-2007 02:47 PM

Perfume would be a perfect reward! I love it. I rarely buy perfume for myself. I'm going to have to think of some nifty non-food rewards so that I'm tempted. :D

Tinky ~ WTG on the loss!

Carrie ~ Glad you could stop in. WOW, this is really happening fast. I don't think I could be ready to move without small children. My thoughts are with you!

Yes, half days are working out excellent and my weight is starting to come off fast because I am not sitting on my rear half the day. HEHEHEHE! I do miss posting so much but I guess now I post about the same as everyone else.

Calories for Wednesday: 1284

Breakfast: Basil/Tomato patty (MorningStar) 1/2 c. fiber one, 1/2 c. strawberries, 1/4 c soy milk.
Snack: Missed it
Lunch: Smart One (can't remember what), 1/2 c. peaches, salad
Snack: 1 c. carrots, 4 Tbsp. FF hummus
Dinner: 2 Chik patty salad, 1 oz 1/2 calorie potato chips
Snack: 100 cal pack popcorn, 1 Turkey Frank

Activies: 30 minute walk, Curves, clean house after DGS, moved 10 bins and Christmas tree out to the shed, fed animals, cleaned my blazer out.

As if that wasn't enough last night I started right back up this morning. Walk the dogs 20 minutes, rode my horse and cleaned the horses leanto. No wonder I am finally starting to lose weight. Tonight I am going to clean some more of the spare bedroom, clean the garden and flower beds and who knows what else I will come up with. HAHAHAHA!

Well I better get going because I almost answered the phone and I am off the clock. HAHAHA! I can't give them any more time, my boss would have a fit. He gets mad at me when I work for free.

Have to get going and I will talk at you all later. I don't know if will be able to get on this weekend or not. I am off tomorrow.

The first time I rewarded myself was when I weighed under 200 and I got my nose pierced. Well, re-pierced, I had to let it close up a few years ago for my job.

Lately, my rewards have been buying clothes that fit. I don't like wearing stuff that's super baggy.
