1190 calories for the day and 28% from fat.

Going to the gym tomorrow so I'll probably increase my calories... I'll see how I feel. I'm off work again on January 7 for five days and I am going to sit down and figure out how to get that fat percentage down. I aim to bring in at least ONE meal from home during the four nights that I work. That should help!

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone!! And thanks for all your tips on carb/fat/protein ratios. I think I'm not going to get too crazy about it either and just try to aim for some lean protein at every meal and lots of fruits and veggies.

Today's (Thurs) calories 1310
35 minute walk in the snow with my dog (half up hill)

I read the book SuperFoodsRX (author Pratt) that is amazing and I've been trying to incorporate at least ten "superfoods" per day. The 14 superfoods are: Beans, Blueberries, Broccoli, Oats, Pumpkin, Wild Salmon, Soy, Spinach, Tea, Tomatoes, Turkey, Walnuts, Yogurt. He has "sidekicks" to these as well and all the latest studies on these superfoods. It's interesting and has been fun to try and incorporate the foods more often every day.

But now I really need to step up the exercise! No excuses! I signed up for two half days SnowShoeing in the mountains with a trail guide in February through a women's adventure group. The leader wants me to start walking more regularly everyday and uphill to prepare. I'm excited.

I also like posting menus "out loud" on the forum. I do it at the end of the day on the Whole Foods Lifestyle forum and I find that it really seems to help me as I rethink putting something in my mouth because I know I'm going to post it!

That is a little rude about the surgery inquiry. I had a ton of dental work done in 2004 that I guess changed the shape of my face slightly appearing a little fuller and a woman at my son's school asked me if I had gotten my lips injected ?? Would you ever ask someone that?

Good morning ladies!!

Welcome GoldenNSU!!!!

I have to add about 75 calories to Wednesday's tally, I forgot to add in some chinese noodles that I had added to my chicken stir fry - so that's about 1125.

Thursday's calories - about 1100. No where near enough exercise, had a rotten stressful day, didn't turn to food though..........or water or exercise .

Have a great day everyone!!!!

Good TGIF Morning Please excuse my laziness, this is a copy/paste from this morning Valentine thread.
Thursday's Journal:
Calories...975
Fat: 29%
My calories would have been closer to 1200 but I couldn't eat all my mac n' cheese. DH wanted it for supper after watching someone make it on the food channel. I used an uncomplicated recipe from the 3FC food section. I cooked the pasta, then separated one serving for myself. I made the balance of the pasta using regular ingredients for DH.
For my portion I used a cube of Laughing Cow's BabyBel cheese and guar gum instead of corn starch, plus the rest of the recipe. It was delicious, had worcestershire, spinach, hot pepper sauce, etc. in it. Corn starch has way too many calories in it. The recipe called for 2 Tablespoons @ 70 calories, my guar gum has 8 times the thickening power and a fraction of the calories. I used 1 teaspoon @ 10 calories in my individual casserole, put regular cornstarch in DH's. My portion made a huge casserole @332 calories. I was stuffed after eating only half of it, that's why my calories are so low for Thursday. I'll eat the balance for lunch today.
Yesterday's Lunch:
Black Forest Ham...50 cal.
Light wheat hamburger bun...80 cal.
Dijon mustard...5
Chocolate Raspberry pudding...39 cal.
Total...174
Robin...You're a testimony to healthy eating and losing the right way, down 77 pounds!
Sakuya...Yes, please post with us for all the reasons you stated.

it wasn't me who said I would post the meals with you, but I would love to anyway. I am always willing to share my meal plans for ideas. I don't update fitday (I use *********** which I just like 100x better), so writing them out on here is the only way to share them.
The curious cat here wants to know what is 100 times better than Fitday? I'm not happy with exercise burning quotes from them.
Mami...I see you're 15 pounds down since October, way to go!
Petra...Great Calorie stats You mentioned physical therapy, what injury are you recovering from?
SmartButt...Get your B'Hind back up on the wagon! What are you doing? Do you want a good grandmotherly talking to? I just got off the Valentine thread and noticed your ticker, do I need to say more?; You have the motivation with an October wedding coming up, now's the time to get with the program and stick with it. You can do it!
Diva...Why don't you post what you ate with fat in it and all us "Genius's " can see what you're eating. What do you want to keep your fat % at?
Charlene...Good calorie stats, what kind of dog do you have?
DH purchased some snowshoes for me a few years ago and they gather dust. It's a lot hard than it looks and skiing is my bag anyway. Please post your menu too! I love seeing what everyone eats.
GoldNSU...Congrats on the 4 pound loss, I see you do Fitday also.
Sorry, my post gets long but I only do it once a day, then I'm off the cp for the day.

I have a lower back problem, partly because I had big babies and never regained my core muscles back (at least that is what they say) and the fact that I got hit right in the tail bone by a heavy glass door. It's 95% better now than before.

Yesterday I had 1260 in calories, about 30 mins of therapy
For some reason FitDay and I are off on the calories, but we always seem to be within 20 or so. So I am posting what I actually have, that I have wrote off the packages.
Got on the scale today and I am down a total of 3 lbs from Monday!!!!! Now I just hope the weekend cooperates with me!!!

Default mostly water weight..

Haven't been here in a little while. The holidays got the better of me and I gained like five or seven pounds. So this week and next is getting back to where I was before. I'm sad about starting off in the hole, but at least I'm starting. I lost about five pounds this week. Most of it was water weight and I expect things to slow down next week, but the movement on the scale was a bump for me.

1600 calories yesterday. I have been so out of control for so long that it's hard keeping calories down. 2006 was a hard year (for me emotionally and health wise. also for my son and mother's health). I emotionally eat if I don't spend the energy taking care of my emotional needs. This year I have to do a better job at saving some energy for myself to take care of myself emotionally.

Ladies send prayer or positive thoughts (whichever you believe) for my mom. She's in the hospital for heart problems and looking at a pacemaker next week.

I have no idea why that came out as *****s... ***********? Spark people? Let's see if one of these goes through! It's just another site that has a calorie counter and I like it better because it has more foods in the database. I cannot find anything on fitday and hate to have to custom enter EVERYTHING. I am a lazy butt.

EDIT: Okay, it looks like it gets censored for some reason when I write it out properly... No idea why?? Sorry for not catching that earlier and having it come out confusing! I like the calorie range and the calories burned things better on there too... Also on there they have ways to track strength training and their own forum with challenge groups and experts and such... So I don't know, it just fits better with my personality and how I need to have things organized.

Hi everyone, I'm also new to calorie counting. It's been working good for me so far. I like how I can eat anything I like as long as I don't eat above my calories. I've been doing It for a week now and I'm surprised i'm not feeling so hungry. Right I'm doing around 1300 calories or less a day. In the morning I have a good breakfast like toast, eggs (whites only), cheese, and a milkshake and for lunch I'm having a slim fast optima skake with half a banana, ice and put it in the blender. For dinner I have whatever there is to eat but in appropriate portions depending on what it is and a red bean or rice milk bar (sooo good) as dessert. Fitday has been such a great way to keep track of everything I'm eating. If I keep it up I figure I will be loosing 1 or 2 pounds a week. Hopefully I wont get tired of the food because It seems like I'm eating the same things everyday, in the morning at least. I weighed myself this morning on an empty stomach and the scale read 165, that's two pounds down but I'm not getting my hopes up. I'm making mondays my official weigh in days so I will have motivation to not over eat on weekends. It's going to be hard as my mother doesn't work on weekends so she stays home and cooks yummy stuff.

I also have to start exercising! I actually have machines(gazelle freestyle and ab lounge) in my home but I get so lazy

Hi all,

I am a 37 year old SAHM from Ontario, Canada and am looking to lose roughly 60 lbs. I am new to the 3FC forums but I am not new to the website. Like many others, my New Years resolution was to get on track with my weight loss. Actually it has been my NYR for how many years now? but for some reason this time it feels different. My friend since kindergarten is getting married at the end of May and although I can get the zipper done up, the bridesmaid dress looks awful on me. That's my motivation.

I am a calorie counter and I love Fitday. My goals are to stick with the good carbs and try and illiminate the bad fats. I am also hoping to more evenly distribute my calories among fat, carbs and proteins but this week I have struggled with getting protein in my diet without also adding fat and/or carbs. But it's my first week so it will come. 3 meals and 3 light snacks is also a priority for me and, as it turns out, surprisingly difficult to fit in.

Fitday has alloted me an astounding 1900 calories a day and although that seams very high to me I am going to try and eat close to that amount and reduce it as I lose. This time around I am trying to be very conscious of keeping my metabolism going. I've been averaging about 1700 cals so far this week and I think that is close enough. If I don't seam to be getting anywhere I'll adjust it.

Exercise will be my biggest challenge. I used to like it but not anymore. I live on a lake that takes about 20-30 minutes to walk around at a good pace so I am hoping to try and do that as much as possible for starters. I do have a 2-year old though that can slow that walk down to a crawl so we'll see.

So hello to you all and I welcome any advice you wish to give.
