Man, the past few weeks have been killin' me!
I started a new job that I hated from day 1. It was good money so I kept it, hoping every day it would get better. But after 3 weeks I was just so intensely miserable (and stress eating fast-food every day) that I quit. Luckily I have something else lined up that I start on Tuesday. From what I understand, the system and routine will be exactly what I'm used to, so I should be able to kick the damn burger and fries monster in the butt.
I also stopped taking Depo shots last month, and it seems my body is finally realizing it. I had horrible PMS cravings and mood swings (didn't help the new job attitude) and yucky cramps that made me not want to even move. Even mister midol couldn't help me out of these! I have endometriosis so it sucks to go back to a regular TOM. But, enough *****ing...
I got a new Polar heart rate monitor as a late xmas gift and tried it out today. It was fun! I liked seeing how I was doing and it was amazing how after a while on the treadmill, that I could get off and do some of Jillian's exercises and my heart rate did NOT go down! The proof is in the pudding, as they say. My workout wasn't long, as I haven't been steady about it so I was out of breath and about to die just 25 minutes into it, but I was very disappointed that the watch said I'd only burned 60 calories. Then I realized I never changed the default user settings to my own. Turns out the default user is a 4 foot tall, 80 pound 5 year old. Go figure! (And no, I'm not joking!) So I think it's safe to say I burned more calories than a 5 year old.
I also decided to up my calories. Perhaps I didn't give it enough time, but eating 1200 calories a day for nearly two weeks didn't make me lose any weight at all! Perhaps my body thinks 1200 is starvation mode. So I've upped myself to 1400 or so and we'll see how that works.
I'm glad to hear everyone is doing well. Is there any way for us yankees to view Australia's Biggest Loser show? I'm going to complain to my satellite dish company
