Hi Girls!
I'm still here (thanks for the shout out, Ledom!), silently watching over you all. And i don't feel funny about the age difference at all. That's the great thing about the internet, you never know the age of the people you're talking to! In my mind, you're all around my age!
I haven't been posting because i haven't been doing great. I'm doing ok, not losing anything, but not gaining any more either. You are all just doing so well i was just sitting back and enjoying your success . My boyfriend is making it really hard, he simply won't help me with the diet part, so weekends are always terrible for me. He's sabortaging me big time!
I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of J's new book, i had to order it from America as it is yet to be released here yet, hopefully it will get here next week. The boyfriend is going away for 3 weeks at the end of next week, so hopefully i can get right back on track and lose some weight while he's not around.
School is finished, actually yesterday was my last day, so i am now a college graduate, i'm very excited. And today i started applying for jobs.
Anyway, i better go, i have to cook dinner tonight. Don't worry, it's chicken, veggies and a little bit of brown pasta.
Even if i don't always post, i'm always watching!!!

TwinkleGirl Congratulations on your graduation! Good for you! Good luck with the job hunt. I hope you get just the thing you are looking for.

I think you are really going to love Jillian's new book! Glad to have you back.

Weekends are still problematic for me. I keep thinking of Sirak and her no cheat day policy. I am trying to get there.

The drinks Friday night were tasty but ultimately disastrous. It's not that I get carried away with the drinks. No, it's like Jillian says in her book, the blood sugar drop afterwards and the ravenous hunger is the problem. I experienced it just like she described. I am still trying to get myself back in control. Yesterday was better but not perfect. Hope that today will be back to my disciplined self.

Don't mind me, i'm trying a new thing where every day i'm going to come here and do a quick log, good or bad, you'll hear it all. Maybe that will help keep me accountable.
I woke up sick with a cold. Today was meant to be rest day, but i did 50 minutes of cardio. Better than nothing. Food was ok, not great. But then, i don't need great, i'm more trying to build up consistency and then slowly get stricter.
Ok, that's me for the day. Bed time, i feel like crap.

Hey gals - just popping in to say "Hi!".

Week is busy - family visiting, my company just got sold so everyone is busy talking about that, I interviewed for a different job (same company) yesterday, and I am still trying to keep food good and get my workouts in. So far so good!

Today was weigh-in day, and I'm down another 1.5# - yipee!

Outback Steakhouse for dinner tonight - will have steak, salad and steamed veggies - YUM! It's my Mom's favorite place, so we must go.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

TG, good idea for keeping accountable. Sorry about the cold, take care of yourself.

Cindy - you're on a roll. Doing terrific and with all the additional stress factors to boot. Did you see this coming with your job?

Back in the groove. My life just doesn't work without the structure of diet and exercise anymore. It seems if those 2 things aren't working, nothing is working. I have gotten off to a good start today. Workout, yard mowed, and now I am going to get busy with my art work.

It's cardio day for me. Week two has more sore quads and hammies. I think I over did the stiff legged dips.Part of my pre Jillian problem was that I wasn't consistantly working the muscle groups and now they are telling me about it.
I find myself peeking at the new book some- and then rereading some of the other one. I need to start working on writing out the next two weeks of exercises in my spiral. The second week is going smoother and I can actually did ten more jumping jacks yesterday.
Food is good. I am right around 1200 this week and will try another little bump in calories next week. There has to be some fish in my future as I feel as if I am growing feathers from eating so much chicken.
My car is in the shop so it's a really boring day. Last day of school for DS13 until summer conditioning camp and possible summer school.
I do cheat. I eat small portions of birthday cake.I have sugar free pudding with cool whip and vanilla wafers. I just don't find much to cheat on that is worth it. I have pizza in the fridge right now- it doesn't call my name anymore. If it was a pound of boiled shrimp it would be different.

Morning Sirak - you and Cindy are the incredible shrinking women. I am going to have to catch up. I haven't changed my ticker because I still am not where I was when I last adjusted it.

Having a good day so far. Did my workout (got up extra early) and the hiked for 2 miles on the mtn. trail while it is still relatively cool. Cooked a bit yesterday.

Morning gals!

I have to share that I really think that the principles of YOU: on a Diet are really behind my success - my eating is very "loose", and I'm still managing to lose weight. Because all of my cheats are still compliant with the 5 main requirements:

1) No high fructose corn syrup (or at the very least it can't be one of the first 5 ingredients)
2) No bleached flours
3) No enriched flours (all must be 100% whole grain)
4) Low sugar - nothing with more than 4g of sugar per serving
5) Low saturated fats - nothing with more than 4g sat. fat per serving

So, even DF's Cape Cod potato chips (potatoes, salt and canola oil) fit into this plan, if I choose to eat them! (Believe me, I try to stay away, but do sneak an occasional one or two)

That, and Jillian's program, of course - the two really seem to be a winning combo for me! (fingers crossed! )

Sirak, if you think your legs are sore now, just wait until you get to weeks 11 & 12 and have to do the jumping squats! What followed was pain like I have never known!

Hey, tomorrow is my last day of week 12! I just realized! I guess that means I'm going to go back to the beginning and start with week 1 again next week. Woo-hoo, I'll have finished it! LOL - 20 weeks later!

Catch you gals later!
Cindy

Sirak - you better watch out! You might become ADDICTED to strength training.

So today when I am having my salad for lunch it will include lettuce, green onions, and cucumbers that I grew!

I was thinking about why I keep sabotaging myself with food. I know it is complicated but one point that I have to work on is not to make my goal sticking to something for 30 days or 12 weeks, but to think of it as ongoing and I guess have a number on the scale I am shooting for. I am trying to arrange my thoughts more along those lines. I can get gung-ho about a challenge, it is the day in - day out that I have trouble with.

Gina, missing you here. Have you read the book yet? And if so what do you think?

Cindy, congrats on working through the book. After week 12 you are going to love going back to week one, but you know what? Even if it does feel easier, it'll still kick your butt!

TG, don't stay gone too long.

Happy Memorial Day everyone.

Well the book is kicking mine the first time around. I just ended up taking a tylenol last night.I had been in the city to pick up the car and felt like yuck.
Yesterday food got all messed up as I didn't get a snack and the kids ate pizza at Sam's. I don't always want to stop for a salad when I have stuff at home. I am cooking my chicken up today so that I will have something to eat this weekend. We were going to Degray in Ark. with our friends, but DH has to work on Satuday- so I am not sure what we will do. It looks like a wash out of a weekend anyway.
The ongoing plan is something we have to all work towards.Maintaince is out there someday. I don't forsee me eating a Big Mac in the near future. When I finally bounce down to a size nine or what ever the magic number I think I will have to be almost as dilagent as if I was dieting.I am hoping that lifting will stay apart of my routine as I don't think I can do it with diet alone.

Around here some call it food porn. I can think of so many things that I would like to eat (and do, that's the whole problem.) I love gourmet food, I love junk fook, sometimes I get a food stuck in my mind and it doesn't leave. I wish I were wired different when it comes to food. I remember vividly the first time I binged on a food. I was lonely, it made me feel better. Food can be used as a drug to push away feelings that make you uncomfortable. But there is no feeling in the world like being in great shape, having your clothes slide on and look great on you. I think food will be an issue for me until my dying day. I have been exercising consistently for about 20 years now (obviously a few lapses). Thank god for that because there is no telling the mess I'd be in now if I didn't have that good thing.

Hope you make it to the lake Sirak. I don't know how comfortable you feel sharing your location in Texas Sirak but I am very curious as to where you live. Seems you must be pretty close to make weekend trips to my area. I love driving through west Texas going to New Mexico.

Well my laptop at home finally died. And I've been in a very annoying place food-wise for a while now. I had to move my ticker...

Exercise-wise I'm doing great, I'm starting to think maybe I'm doing too much cardio....but I really enjoy riding. Such a conundrum.

So glad for a long weekend, I need to finish Jillian's book.

Hey everyone - just a fly-by to say Happy Memorial Day weekend!

My first weekend "at camp" for the season, so I'm hoping I'll keep my food on the straight and narrow. Lots of veggies and chicken will be bought tomorrow!

Hi Gina - sorry to hear about your computer

TG - sorry you've not been feeling well. Hope you stop in and say Hi often.

Hey Ledom and Sirak!
