hey everyone just popping in to say hi before i start pretending to do uni work!
Kissingginger: no ailments sounds nice i've been sick for a while now, i am really tempted to go back to the gym tomorrow but i think i push myself too hard when im sick so i might have to wait a while. grr
Wow, like someone cleverly said, if you need some light reading - just read Blue Team'sChat Thread, whew!!!!
Just checking in and giving a little update on the week that just passed regarding my eating and exercise, which was poor and nil. We had 2 birthdays, one Wednesday, one Thursday - out to Chinese, birthday cake (small) and (low fat) ice cream. Friday, DH took me to the coast for some RnR - prime rib and seafood buffet Friday, hamburger saturday, (traditional Indian) salmon bake Sunday. Only exercised Saturday, WATP 4 mile. No weight change through all that though.
Back to reality at home, I'm OP, exercising and drinking water. Planning on upping my weight routine by adding some intensity.
I'm Dora and my goal is 25lbs by the end of the challenge. Mini-goal to be in onderland by Nov. 5 (You and me Margot, eh?)
Annie - you are inspirational, your story - so touching.
Christina - hope to hear that your mother is doing better. I know how hard this can be. I've been a nurse for 25 years and seen (almost) all the ways this kind of stress can turn someone's life upside down. Congrats on hanging in there.
QOTD - what can you do for me? Be positive when you can, be real when you must - push me to try harder - my worst "fear" is to let you all down in the challenge - just remind me of that!!!
Looking forward to getting to know all of you better . . .
Congratulations JEN!!!4.5# Woot!
Faerie - good to see you back again. . .
Cool to have dumpling and irishkatt and others with us from across the pond - feeling very cosmopolitan, you know.
I'll keep it short, prevent the glaze-over effect . . . blue team chat . . . must finish . . . only 10 . . . more . . . pages . . . thud . . .qwertyuioppp, zzzzzzzzzzzzz
So tonight is the night. Do you all usually post while watching? Just curious since this is my first time at the challenge.
I did my 45 min walk around the neighborhood and checking out all the damaged roofs. Schools are still closed today and several business are either closed or opeing late. We are a little bit behind the Red Team on posts. Let's get up and move......

Good Morning! I started getting caught up, but the rest may have to wait until the weekend. I just posted a 2lb loss for this week which I feel good about.
Dora--Hopefully we can keep each other in check and out of the danger zone!!! For way too long I "used" the fact that my knee was bad, when in reality it is super important to keep the muscles that support it strong. I will need more surgery someday, but the longer I can put it off the better. When I saw my ortho the other day, the very first thing he said to me was to compliment me on how great I look from my weight loss!
flagirl--Wow, you must be busy all the time! Is your husband in the military?
Nori--your nephew is a cutie!!! I hope someone returns the call soon.
Frank Ricard--Welcome! Your wife is awesome, but I'm sure you know that already!!
kissingginger--Yea, Ginger is on the blue team!!! Hope you are feeling better soon!
puffin--I know, I cannot beliefe it is 1/2 way through September already!
I like some reality shows too...I just watched Greatest American Dog, at work we all LOVE American Idol (we are even going to start a 'lunch' group this season, I LOVE What Not To Wear, I could go on...
My goal for this challange is to hit onderland and stay there for more than a nanosecond!
Some things I forgot to mention in my intro...I am 37 (very soon to be 38), dh and I will celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary in October, we have 2 very spoiled beagles, and my dh has decided that he wants to start being more healthy too. He is doing great so far and it makes it SO much easier for me!!!!!!!
I stayed within my calorie counts yesterday. Today's goal is to start my beginning running program again. I've been calling it a revised C25K, however, our teammate Heather brought it to my attention that it's actually a C210K! Woohoo...by the end of this challenge, I should be running 10K. This is gonna be fun.

Christina - Congratulations on staying on-plan through such a stressful time. I hope your Mom recovers quickly.

Don't commiserate with me. If I need a good butt kickin', please give it to me! Also, I like "peer" pressure. If my team members are all eating healthy and exercising like crazy, then I wanna do it, too. So, let's plan those healthy meals and do some sweating!

You can add me to the list of 'all or nothingers'. That leads me into the 'what you need from the team' question. When I am "all", like I am right now...all I need is some encouragement to know that what I do matters. When I'm "nothing" I need over the top encouragement and common sense knocked into my head. I don't think I am alone here. That is why this forum is so great! We get both because there are so many that are the same and understand what is needed to keep going!
I have been all in for about 3 months now. I even turned down birthday cake at my grandaughters birthday party on Sunday! I started walking about a month ago and I am up to 45-60 mins. a day. I love walking! I am very proud that I have stuck to it...but also worried. I have a love/hate relationship with excersise. When I do it I feel great...but...(isn't there always a but) I have the hardest time getting motivated to start. Every day I have to force myself out of the chair to get started! And I mean FORCE! I am afraid that I will get tired of forcing myself and just stop like I have in the past. That sets me up for feeling like a failure which moves to my diet and throws me into the "nothing" mode. Does that make any sense?
Why do I have such a hard time every day doing something that makes me feel so good? Why can't excersise be like the cigarettes that my body thought it needed for all those years? Has anyone else overcome this problem? What did you do? And how long did it take for your body to know it needed excersise?

Love this answer GirlyGirl! If this is a team of serious weight droppers...I want to keep up!
Thinking of going vegan soon. Maybe Heather can help me out?
That's Awesome! I'll be glad to give you any suggestions on books, websites, recipes, dealing with transitioning I can. I'm still learning things daily about it myself but have a pretty good grip on the basics Yea!!

I do best when the whole team is eating right and exercising - basically I'm sorta competitive I want everyone to do awesome and have smaller butts at the end of this challenge and to push one another in that direction!

What can the group do to help keep you on track? Keep up the good work! When I see others succeeding, I want to succeed! Man I love 3FC for this very reason. So much inspiration! So many reasons to say "Well if she/he can do it, I CAN DO IT!"
How can we help out if you feel like you're starting to slip or things become a little rough? Give me a good butt-kickin' cause I can get pretty darn lazy. Saying "pretty please" isn't enough with me.
I challenge everyone who will be watching the show tonight to get in at least 30 minutes of exercise during the show. At only 30 minutes, you can just exercise during the commercials. I plan on getting in my LCW (Last Chance Workout) during the entire show, so 60 minutes on the Elliptical and 30 minutes of Hula Hooping and 30 minutes on the Recumbant bike.
Just wanted to let you guys know since a lot of you are new, when the show comes on Tuesday nights, to avoid team chat overflow we keep the show discussion in the main Biggest Loser forum. This helps keep this thread from becoming too overwhelming.
You can find the Season 6 show discussion thread: HERE!

I wish we had the little tv in the room with the treadmill because then I could watch and walk at the same time. However, I still plan on exercising tonight, just not during the show.
