fauxtini: I do feel stronger! I have noticed a difference in my time if I am running on the track verses the treadmill. I try to do both but I am working on improving my time on the track since I don't think I will be running any actual 5K's at the gym!
Chelle - guess what I did over our break? Read the twilight series - all of them! I was a big fan until the incredibly ridiculous, slow moving, BD! ugh
But now I'm reading other YA vamp novels, so I'll recommend Evernight and the Vampire Beach series, which imo are both BETTER than Twiligh. Ha!
TEAM JACOB, btw! Yeah, I stayed up til midnite to get the new release, so that only added to the disappointment.
Annie - awesome!
Nori - praying for your nephew. He's cute.
Faux - I'm in for 100 push up challenge
Chelle - I'm Hannah and my goal is 21 lbs. Sorry you don't get a more exciting personal.

Yeah.. i've done most of mine just jogging down the street in my neighborhood and whatnot. It feels like more of a challenge when there's random hills around and it just feels good to be out in the fresh air!
Hannah: See you on the push up thread at chicks up for a challenge We are gonna start week one on monday!

Flowingair: Long story short, (long version is somewhere near the beginning of this thread I think, lol) I went on a liquid diet then had weight loss surgery. I started on 4-16-07 and have been exercising like crazy, well, not like crazy but tons more than I used to.
Okay, this is my final check in for the day. I have to be at work at 4:45 a.m. so I better get my butt to bed as it is 8:37 now. lol.
Christina, I have recently finished all of Anita Blake's stuff and I adore it. Although I must tell you, she can be quite graphic when it comes to the sexual nature, lol. Just a heads up because from what I hear Twilight would be considered romper room next to Anita. Truthfully as much as I loved her vampire stuff, the Meredith series (faries) was equally as great. Just had to chime in when I saw Anita's name. Now my goal is to start the Twilight series, lol. Y'know Anita kinda reminds me of an early Anne Rice now that I think about it..
Yeah to be honest I was a bit disappointed at the lack of graphical details in the Twilight books, but as another Blueser mentioned, it was geared toward young adults. Still I love them just the same. I have read some of the very raunchy Anne Rice stuff, even attempting her Sleeping Beauty trilogy penned under the name A. N. Roquelaure. I made it through book one and halfway through two when I just had to stop. It was just way too much sex, and not the normal kind. I did love her vampire stuff though, so I look forward to Anita Blake even more now. Wow, I just checked on Amazon, there are 18 books in the series? The ratings sure have plummeted over the years. Oh well, I don't always agree with those anyway. I will buy a few and see how I like it.
On a down note, my mom had to go back to the hospital today. Turns out she had a mild stroke. I was super stressed out but I am proud to say I managed to stay OP and even started the 100 push-up challenge today. I am so thankful for this place, it's kept me from breaking down and eating my whole fridge a few times. I am sure things will be ok with mom, but any prayers would be very much appreciated.
Nite everyone, I am sure there will be 4 more pages to read when I get up in the morning lol.
chellez - my goal for this challenge is 34 pounds and my name is brie
i work for a political campaign and its about 50 days till the election so i will post and check in but maybe no personals for a little while my life is super hectic!
i will answer the question posted by faerie. i need people to give me a kick in the butt. i have a lot of info in my head about the right way to get fit and in shape i just get lazy with my eating or get so busy i forget to take care of myself. so whatever u guys can do to help me with that would be awesome.
Chelle my name is Tammy I would like to set my goal at 25lbs.
I live here in the beautiful Bluegrass State near Lexington, Kentucky. My husband and I own a construction company that keeps us really busy, him more than me. We have a 22 yr. old daughter that graduated this May from University of Ky, degree in Marketing and Management. I really enjoy reading everyone's posts.
THIN4GOOD...I also Love the ZUMBA classes!
Dumplin.....I live in Sellersburg Indiana and we had high winds and lots of damage yesterday. What part of Kentucky are you in? Fauxtini is moving close to Fort Knox in October and we are setting up plans to meet....want to join us???
Thanks so much for asking! I really don't know at this time. I will keep in touch and let you know. I really don't know where I will be or what I will be doing at that time. I'm sure it would be fun!
I have another Ky friend that I recently met here at 3fc . Just wanted to say Hi to dgramie. So glad you are O.K. those winds were really strong in Lexington.
fauxtini - I am always 110% committed or 0%. All or nothing. I agree, I'm not always sure if it's a good thing. When I am 110% there, it's a great thing!!!!
I need tomorrow to be a fresh day with no AILMENTS (will try that peppermint tea)......And off to the gym I GO. I can't wait.
Hoooo boy ladies (and gents!), I do not know what happened to me after work today! Somehow I just ended up way off my plan for the day, and way into a binge. SIGH. I'm pretty sure I know the cause (work-related stress, more on that tomorrow!), but I'm not sure how it got so out of control. Tomorrow is a new day, though, and it will be a better day.
bjeweled - Ooooh how neat that you are working on a political campaign! I hear ya on KNOWING what to do, but getting lazy about doing it.
Christina - I'll be praying for your mom's recovery. Congrats on staying OP.
Annie - Girl, how do you handle getting to work so early? I can barely handle being out the door at 8am!
Denise - Ohhh I hope you finish healing from shingles quickly! My mum had it a few years ago and it was awful.
Faerie - Great question! I think the best thing about this group is the accountability and honesty. It helps so much to know we aren't alone!
kissingginger - IMO, that kind of pain is a legitimate reason not to exercise. We've got to listen to our bodies, and it sounds like you did just that. Hope you are feeling better soon!
