Karen, yeah the mirror part is going to be intense I just KNOW it. I read that part of the chapter and I got sort've panicky-like? Ugh, I just gotta do it and get it over with! I've danced around it all morning, picking up the book and then putting it down and "busying" myself with something else. My goal is to get it done by tomorrow morning. By all means, PM me if you wanna talk!

Hello Ladies....I went to a fundraiser for Canadian Mental Health Association last night, called "In Her Shoes". There was a shoe silent auction, you could by shoes and handbags (I bought a fabulous little handbag in fushia with tree frogs on it! lol) and there was a fashion show. Margaret Trudeau was the guest speaker, and she was actually quite interesting.

Ok, so that was the boring stuff, should I mention there was a DESSERT BAR!?!?!?!?!

Yes, a dessert bar with cakes, pies, gourmet mousse-y, custard-y treats (yumm-o), cheesecakes, squares and a giant chocolate fountain!!! Soooooo....needless to say, I'm doing some serious damage control today....but oh lord, it was worth it! ;-)

And I'm a pretty average height at 5'7'' and these pants were just dragging on the floor!

I had to text Danielle mid shopping trip because I tried on these pants that said they would instantly slim me and flatten my tummy. Well...apparently mine were broken because I was neither slim nor flat!

Have a fantastic day everyone!! I'll check back in later on!
It's a conspiracy, I'm telling you!!!! I tried on some of those "slimming" jeans at work, uh, mine were defective too.
I'm sure you did brilliantly at your interview!!!!

Thanks y'all for your suggestions....you confirmed what I already knew--use what I have and make an appointment with myself!! I don't know why I thought buying a gym membership makes a difference--it never did before. So...y'all saved me some serious $$$$$!

Danielle: yeah, part of me wished that.....but there are folks who depend on our company, especially in times like this. Oh well...a three day weekend is coming up soon enough!!

Bella: see you next challenge!!

Karen: That is a good suggestion! No excuses, just right on the treadmill (or whatever I do).....

I had to look up what a swiss ball was, duh I have one. lol
I say skip the gym and do it at home. Invest the $14 and get some hand weights and you can get an awesome workout with those on the ball. And do the treadmill while you watch t.v. If you can get up an extra 1/2 hour early and get 20 min done on it. Or schedule 20min in the evening. That's what I started doing in the evenings, I'm watching t.v, might as well go downstairs and watch it while I ride my bike. Like I'll be doing tonight since I didn't workout this morning, woke up with a headache and just had a blah day.
And it's rainy and grey here, that makes me sleepy.

Crazy day. Plus I have a cold coming on. Not cool. I will need to work out tonight after they are in bed. HOLD ME ACCOUNTABLE PLEASE! I will feel better if I just do it. It's so hard for me to do it at night though, I'm so tired and I just want to hang out with DH and watch TV.

Let's hope I check in tomorrow and say, "I did it!"

You'll do it!! Besides it'll help sweat out the cold germs.

Right on! I'm totally feeling sluggish right now. This may be a rotisserie-chicken-and-bagged-salad dinner night. My two older kids have gymnastics at our dinner time so we will eat later. Then they'll go to bed and I WILL work out.

I'm so glad I have you guys to keep me honest.

Bella Mia we'll miss you! Best of luck with the things you need to work through & we'll see you next challenge.

Hopefully, things will get better and if it is okay with everybody I could join the next challenge. You are all so wonderful and compassionate and I wish you all nothing but the very best. Melissa you are an awesome leader. Thanks for all your support and understanding. GO RED GO!!!
See you in the next challenge (if you still want me, that is!).

Sara - you need to do what is best for you. I'm sorry that you're dropping out. We'll miss you around here! The biggest part of this challenge for me is the support. I hope you can find some support. By all means you are welcome to continue to come here as often as you can for it. I have found that there have been times in my life that I really want to lose weight but it just hasn't been the right time. I wish you the best. We'd be lucky to have you in the next challenge!

I so know how you're feeling today Tina!!
I haven't caught the Tudors, it does look interesting for sure! I'll have to check out Showtime. We have HBO and am that they've not completed Deadwood like they said they would. I'm waiting for Big Love to start up, which I assume will be in the summer.

I've been watching the Tudors since it started last season. I totally love it. I had to get caught up last Sunday with the Showtime On Demand though because I fell behind. I have found myself addicted to almost all of the Showtime series shows. The Tudors, Weeds, Californication, Dexter, The L word. They have some great shows.

And yes, Jonathon Ryes Myers(sp) is one FINE looking, sexy King Henry.

I totally understand feeling down and not knowing exactly why. I've been struggling with this for a couple of weeks. It does seem that the weather has a huge influence. Hang in there!

Hey everyone-
I'm behind on reading, but wanted to check in. My parents were here for the weekend and it's been a crazy week so far- I can't even remember if I've posted yet! lol
I know I posted my weight and was down 2.8 on the weekend. I had chinese on Friday night so feel like I've been un-doing that since, but hopefully once that is flushed out I will have another good loss this week.
My family competition is going well- it's totally motivating me to get my 5 fruits and veggies, hour of exercise and 7-8 hours of sleep anyway! I need to step up my exercise. I had a great walk/run on Monday, but yesterday counted my cleaning job (which *is* a workout, but still feel like I could fit in a half hour on the treadmill or a dvd kwim?) and today haven't made time yet. But I am down 9 total and am totally committed to see this through and see some real results this time.
Hope you are all doing great! I will be back with personals when I get a chance to go back and catch up on all the posts!

Hi Team!

We just got back from a field trip today. It was put on by a family who bought a large property with a mine on it from the 1800's. The have been digging out the mine and improving the property to do pioneer type field trips. The kids had a great time. They got to saw logs, protect a fort, learn about native plants, pan for gold, cross a rope bridge, grind wheat, wash clothes, and go into the gold mine. It ended with a train ride. I am so impressed with the family who put it on.

The best part is that we hiked on their property for at least two hours. So I did get some cardio in today even though I missed my regular morning walk.

The field trip doesn't fit with our current history study. (We've been learning about the Middle Ages, the Reformation, and the Renaissance.) But we'll be learning about California History in the fall so this was a great intro for the kids. It was lots of fun and good exercise.

All the talk about the "slimming" pants is just cracking me up! Thanks for a good laugh.
