Thanks for the cat name suggestions. I'm compiling a list for DH to choose from. I decided that since I felt better, I should go for a walk at lunch. I'd packed my shoes just in case. It's our Ronald McDonald House casual day, so I didn't have to change clothes. I wasn't thinking though, that this t-shirt is navy blue, and it's 80 outside. At least I got some breeze off the Gulf.

QOTD - Sugar Free Cool Whip. It's enough like ice cream texture to stop my cravings. Plus it's only 25 calories. It's no where near a "real" food, but it stops me from driving to Wal-mart at 10:30 at night to look for Ben & Jerrys. B&J are to blame for my last hurrah, and after that huge gain I've decided to break up with them for good.

Dee--I have a habit of naming pets after Presidents or alcohol. I had a cat named Anheuser once.

My plans include being married for a month, and then applying to local schools so that I can get a college degree in... uh... <insert something fun here>. And then finding a job that I enjoy. Honestly, enjoy. Not that just pays the bills. I lol'd and completely agree with the above bolded.

I just realized that made it sound like my plans included being married for ONLY a month. I assure you that's not it!

No Excuse! You should learn to study and exercise at the same time Melissa!

I see women reading on the treadmill all the time.

Hey Blue Team! Boy, do we rock!!! I can't believe how active everyone is. Great job.

It's hard for me to keep up with you guys! I post every couple of days but that's not nearly often enough to be able to catch up with how everyone is doing.

I hope that everyone is staying motivated, and on track. I also pray that everyone is healthy and well, and that your families are doing well! For those of you who are having a rough time, my positive thoughts are with you.

Well, today I did my second session of Week #2 of Couch to 5k. Wow! I am really doing this! It was kind of a tough run today, but I survived.

I'm finally seeing the scale budge... I've been at 226 for a couple of months and it finally went down to 225!!!!!! I know that some of you are dropping pounds like nobody's business, but my weight is pretty much cemented to me!!! I remember a time when I could just exercise and see a change on the scale the next day.

Well, I guess that just means that I need to be extra extra careful about what goes into my mouth. Exercising is easier for me than making good food choices. I guess that's because with exercise: you either do it or you don't. But with food, there are so many ways to go wrong!!! Eat too much, eat too little, eat a the wrong time, eat too few veggies, eat the wrong thing......

Money is really tight right now. My husband and I run a web design business from home, but we had business on hold for a while because we just had a baby in February. I would have liked to take more time off but the bank account is really running low. So, I've emailed all my clients letting them know were back in business and people are so slow to respond and the economy is not great right now... I really hope that we get some money soon. Please say a little prayer for us if you think of it.

On the bright side, yesterday I took a friend out to dinner at cheesecake factory and I ordered the chicken lettuce wraps appetizer (anyone know the nutritional info on that?) as my main meal. Anyway the main point is, it's been a few weeks since she's seen me and she said "wow, you look like you're losing weight quickly!"... I sort of was hoping she'd say something. It felt great to get acknowledged since the scale doesn't seem to be telling me "good job" on a regular basis.

Great job, I loved the C25K program! Each session I thought to myself, "I'll never be able to do that" and yet somehow I did! Congrats on losing that cemented pound, too, you worked hard for it! And on choosing lettuce wraps, good for you!

I couldn't find the Cheesecake Factory Chicken Lettuce Wraps, but I did find the P.F. Changs Chicken Lettuce Wraps and I'm thinking they are probably the same

PF Changs Chicken Lettuce Wraps Appetizer

I was just looking at my avatar picture and I realized my Lexi girl looks a lot like a cross between and horse/cow/dog.

And on that note I'm going to start reading Dee's Tanya Huff book...

I can't remember who suggested Anita Blake either this round or last round but I did pickup The Harlequin the other day.

Now I just have to find time to read it!

Tales of Office Food (con't). Today for the Ronald McDonald House casual day at work we're having an "ice cream party". The food buyer is a former obese chickie who has gastric bypass. Will she buy low-fat or sugar free? Nope. Seems like I'm discriminated against here. I think I'll slip out to run an errand while they have this party.

I forgot to mention that Monday we had Panera Bread with homemade apple butter, which I passed up.

I think I'm going to keep a log of all the free food that passes through here, wouldn't that make a facinating blog?

I love the Anita Blake books. I have some complaints, mostly about how her decriptions are always the same, but they are good. You can't start in the middle though. You need to read Guilty Pleasures first. Let me see what I have at home and I can send you some of them.

Well these are under her alias name Laurell Hamilton... so I don't know if they are in a series or not.

Yes. Laurell K Hamilton is the author of the Anita Blake series. The books are (in order as far as I remember)

Guilty Pleasures
Laughing Corpse
Circus of the Damned
The Lunatic Cafe
Bloody Bones
The Killing Dance
Burnt Offerings
Blue Moon
Obsidian Butterfly
Narcissus in Chains
Cerulean Sins
Incubus Dreams
Micah
Danse Macabre
Harlequin

I just looked at Amazon and you can get some of these used very cheaply.
