Hello Red Team! I have missed you. I barely made it to weigh in tonight, but I made it. Okay, so I did not have a weight loss this week. So really I guess I could just have missed it. Two reasons for no loss:
1. TOM
2. It was my birthday week last week. I overenjoyed it. So, I need a kick in the pants. Also, we moved my mother-n-law in with us this past weekend. So I ate on the run....Ummm, I also like Chinesse (sp) food. Had it yesterday, and ate the leftovers today. Yum!!!! Okay! Back on plan tomorrow. The cake is gone. The ice cream is gone. Don't even want to think about processed food right now.
I hope everyone is doing good. I can't wait for this week to be over. I am still so bloated. I feel ich. My stroller came in, and I love it. I am going to try to go to a state park this week, and take a very long walk. I'll see how long I can get my kids to walk.
at this rate I could work for NBC with all my updates
My boss has asked me to come into work tomorrow for about an hour just to cut checks and write up delivery tickets etc. He doesn't want me there longer than necessary because he doesn't want the office infected. So I'm going into work tomorrow from noon until 1 pm EST.
So guess what that means! We WILL have weigh in results tomorrow from the Blue Team!
I plan on at least getting the weigh in results and stuff up around noon, then I'm going to forward a copy of everything to my email so I can come home and work on challenge stuff from here the rest of the day.
My throat is starting to feel better today, but of course the worst part is sleeping so we'll see how that goes in about 30 minutes.
I'm really glad that I do get a chance to get everything caught up tomorrow. I was going to be really upset if the challenge had to suffer because of me being sick.
Melissa, I agree that spinach is one of the best foods for you... but has anyone noticed a trend that every product now likes to put on the packaging that their ingredients are superfoods and the best thing you could possibly eat? I've been eating a lot of acai lately, which is supposed to be good for you... but I don't know that it's the MOST amazing food EVER, which is what all the labels like to claim.
Chellez - feel better soon!
My news: yesterday, after kind of saying screw it with the calorie counting... I ended up being perfectly on plan! Go figure. I think I like hitting the grocery for microwavable food instead of the restaurants around me, because there are more options and I can look at the labels there rather than have to plan it in advance. Also, last night and this morning even though I'm sick I did a little bit on the treadmill. Go me! Maybe I can do this after all.
Way to go Sara!!! Our BL for the week! I see you broke that hump HUGE!!! Share with us how you did it! I know you were looking at switching plans, obviously something worked! Great job last week!! Keep it up!!
Red team, it seems as though we need to reconnect. We are at the half way point and this is when things get rough, we all need to make a recommittment. I'm going to post up a halfway survey and I would appreciate it if EVERYONE answered it! Do this for YOU!!
I forced myself to the gym last night, put off homework and all the things I've got to get done for PTA and just went and did it for me! I'm really focusing right now on putting myself as a priority. I've spent so many years worrying about making everyone else comfortable, making sure everyone else's needs were met, making sure everyone else gets the right experience and lately really just feel like I don't get back what I put out there into the world. I think I've just been this way for so long, and never spoke up before that people just expect it from me and take it for granted. For the first time in my life I've got to be selfish and do what I need to do for ME! I really do believe in Karma, and you get what you give, but there comes a time when you have to stop banging your head on the wall waiting.
The first steps for me are to stop canceling my gym time for other things. Unless it's got to do with my kids...the gym time is set in stone! So after classes today...back to the gym!
Good Morning Red Team!!
I shoveled snow this morning for 45 minutes! So strange sweating while it's snowing out. I know sounds silly to shovel while it's snowing but we had about 3" already and it's just going to keep on so I figured I'd get some kind of jump on it. I'll probably get in a Leslie walk before I get a shower and if the boys still have wrestling practice tonight, I'll be walking the track. I'll have to remember to tape TBL!! If they don't have practice then I'll be downstairs riding the bike watching TBL.
Tina ~ I too have been doing scramled eggs for breakfast, just the last few days. I bought some egg beaters since they were on sale, got all the different flavors plus the regular. I like to make an egg mcmuffin. I use the light whole wheat english muffins, they have 8gms of fiber, and I'll either use a slice of canadian bacon or cut a turkey sausage in half and lay it on there and also add a touch of some peach salsa.
Oh has anyone tried the new Fiber One yogurt? It's pretty yummy and has 5gms of fiber per serving. I'm a Fiber One nut, have the bars, cereal and now the yogurt.
Laura~ Of course you will do this!! Good going on getting on the treadmill. I noticed when I worked out while I was sick, it did make me feel better knowing that I did do something, even though it wasn't long, I still moved.
Chellez and our own that aren't feeling well ~ Sending ya'll some :::: :::: vibes!!
hmmmm dh just drove up, I'm going to go see what's up. Ya'll have a good day and I'll be back later.....
1. What is your eating plan of attack? My plan is to avoid sugar (due to moderation issues), eat only whole grains, eat as many fruits and veggies as I can, limit high starchy foods (for now), and focus on eating until I am full and not beyond that point. Just because I can fit more food into my stomach doesn't mean I should!
2. What is your preferred method of exercise? I really like my Zumba class. I have done WATP for a couple of months but and am needing some variety now. I just started doing strength training and toning workouts. I pulled out an old VHS of Tae Bo and have been trying new workouts through my NetFlix....hoping to find something new to love!
3. What is something you excelled at over the past 6 weeks? For the first 5 weeks, I was very good about staying on plan and not even wanting to waiver. I have been exercising consistently, including getting up early (although not a morning person ) to guarantee getting my workouts in.
4. What is something you are still struggling with? I have been having a rough time the past week or so. I'm not sure what's causing it but I've been in a bit of a funk. I've been having trouble getting my water in. I've not been motivated to exercise as much (shorter workouts). I've not been posting much lately. (Whether I'm not posting because I'm in a funk or in a funk because I'm not posting....Hmmmm??)
5. What is your goal for the next 6 weeks? I am exactly at the half way point of my goal for the challenge (7.5 pounds of 15). I would like to accomplish that goal. I also need to snap out of my funk - and quick!
6. Say something positive about yourself! I am a good person. I deserve to be happy, healthy and thin!
Good morning ladies! Well I made it through day 1 of my abstinence yesterday and it felt great. I ate well, I exercised well, and I drank my water! What more could a girl ask for in a day So today is going to be day two of abstinence and I'm hoping to report tomorrow that I've made it through. Kev ended up taking Mattie and Joey to the book fair last night. Kyle wasn't up to going at all. He laid on the couch all day yesterday sleeping off and on. Today he woke up though and he looks a lot better, so I'm hoping for no fever today. I'm keeping him home today though just to watch him and hopefully tomorrow he'll be back to school. This Saturday is Madison's 6th birthday. I was asking her what she wanted, and well it's just about everything girlyLOL! She asked for a kitchen...now she just got a Dora kitchen for Christmas and she has one in the garage that she plays with in the warm weather, and we just threw one in the garbage. Every new kitchen she sees she wants...shes a knuckle head! So today is supposed to be gym day for cardio, but we got slammed with snow, and I think more is on the way. I'm thinking about just doing a cardio workout at home. I really would like to make the gym, but I really hate going out in this crap! I'll have to see how it is later today. I'm making a pork roast for dinner tonight, and that will mean leftovers for a few days!YAY! I love leftovers. Tomorrow is my OA meeting and I'm just glad the snow came last night instead of tomorrow night, I don't drive in snow unless it's a emergency. So today Kyle and I will just be hanging around home. I've started to log my calories into the dailyplate again...this is going to help keep me accountable I think. I hope your all having a great day
Mom23BC- Happy Belated Birthday!!! Good for you for getting back on track. Sometimes it takes a few days of treats to make us snap back into the good eating. Enjoy that stroller
Chellez- Glad your feeling a little better...continue to get well hun!
Laura- Good for you for working out while not feeling the best. That is some great dedication
Melissa-Good for you for getting to the gym. I think your new attitude is priceless. I mean if you don't put yourself first who the heck will?!? I think in the long run it will be best for everyone because you'll feel great and in return the people around you will feel great. Sometimes we have to stop giving so much to others and give a little to ourselves. Good for you girl! You deserve it!!!
Sara- Congrats on being The Biggest Loser this week
Cat- I need to get out and shovel my driveway also...my poor husbands back can't take it anymore. The man isn't even 30, but has the worst back pain ever. I try to tell him that exercise would really help, but he can't seem to get into a consistent routine. Oh well shoveling will burn some major calories for meLOL! I've never tried that yogurt...I'll have to pick a few up and see if I like them. I need to start using egg beaters, do they taste any different then a egg?
1. What is your eating plan of attack? Mine is just to eat healthy foods and log them into daily plate. Also to stay within my calorie range for 6 days out of the week. I'm going to give myself 1 day that if I go over a little I won't sweat it.
2. What is your preferred method of exercise? I've really been liking the focus on strength training, and 3 days of cardio.
3. What is something you excelled at over the past 6 weeks? For sure exercise...I've always really liked to exercise, but I feel like I'm really transforming my body now. The weights are doing wonderful things for me
4. What is something you are still struggling with? It would have to be my eating, but I'm really trying to get better with that. It's a day to day thing with me from now on. One day at a time! You know I just read something out of my OA pamplet that said "We are not failures because we have a failure. Failure is being unwilling to start over." Something I plan to live by from now on!
5. What is your goal for the next 6 weeks? Over the next 5 weeks I really want to continue with steady exercise, but more importantly I want to focus on really working my eating program. Getting my eating down is going to be key to me loosing and keeping off the weight!
6. Say something positive about yourself! I deserve this!!!!
Well i'm doing very well today. I started my day off with abs and stretching (yay, I can finally get a point for that in the vacation thread.LOL). I'm not very hungry today and all i've had was cereal for breakfast and a lean cuisine margarita deep dish pizza for lunch (6pts) YUMMY!! I haven't had any snacks yet, but I planned for 2 clementines, a fiberone bar and some crackers with a skinny cow cheese! We'll see what I actually eat of it becuase i'm not craving anything yet, but i'm glad I brought and planned these healthy snacks because today is extended day at work today, so i'm stuck here until 4:45. UGH!!!
So i'm really really bummed about this stupid debate and not biggest loser tonight. I NEED TBL to motivate me to do 2 hours of cardio. Without it, i'm sure I'll just do my usual 60-90 min. I already know who i'm voting for (Go Hillary) so the debate is a waste of my time and precious air time of TBL! Sorry, I know i'm not a very good American but I have my priorities...and TBL is one of them! Ho-Hum!!! What am I gonna do!
Karen: I'm sure that not journaling has alot to do with it. But with your positive attitude you will have a great loss next time! Are you the one using the Beck's Diet Solution? I got the workbook this weekend and today i'm focusing on sitting down to eat. So far so good!
Scenestealer: I think that's a good idea. My mom does WW with me and what really works for her is to have a smart one (only 4pt ones) for lunch with salad and veggies and it keeps her full with very little calories. Then she eats whatever at dinner!
Tina, that egg scramble sounds yummy! Thanks for sharing. Great job on your strength workout! YOu are doing great? Have you been back to your OA meeting? How is it going?
Terapet: I love REd Robin. That is a huge danger zone! Great job on only eating half a burger. that shouldn't be too bad! "One Time, At Band Camp!" Sorry, I couldn't resist. did you see American Pie? LOL
Shy: Wow, that sure is alot of windows. I'd hire someone. I HATE cleaning! LOL
Mom: *kick* here's your kick you requested. I'm glad you enjoyed your birthday, and i'm a lover of chinese food too. But i'm glad your back on track today! Hopefully next weigh in will be better for you!
1. What is your eating plan of attack? I plan on following the WW 8 healthy guidelines, really concentrating on getting in all of my fruit and veggie servings and planning my meals!
2. What is your preferred method of exercise? I do several different things because if I do the same thing I get bored. I walk outside, go to the gym and do treadmill (c25k), bike and ellipticals, I do weight training and abs every day and when it's nice out I'll be riding my bike and hiking!!
3. What is something you excelled at over the past 6 weeks? Staying perfectly on plan every day, getting my exercise for at least 5 days a week, AND I have consistently lost weight every single week!
4. What is something you are still struggling with? Vegetables - but when I plan my meals for the day I usually do better with it, so i'm working on it!
5. What is your goal for the next 6 weeks? I have a few goals....next Saturday my goal is to lose at least 2.2lbs so that I can get my 10% keychain AND my 25lb magnet. I have a St. Patrick's Day goal of being at 220lbs. I would also like my BMI out of the Obese range so that would make it 29.9 and then one of my next goals is go be in Onederland. I have a chart of all of my mini goals broken up into 10 different goals all the way to my final WW goal. I"m sooo determined.
6. Say something positive about yourself! I'm smart, pretty, talented and motivated. I can do this!! I have the willpower to succeed!
Hello ladies! Well I have been busy this morning. Had to go to the post office and mail off some of my "fat" clothes to my girlfriend. I know the way it's worded sounds mean, but they are in really good condition and she can use them, and I don't ever plan on wearing them again! So until they are too big for her, at least some good will come out of them! Along with a few blouses that are just too big on me now too. Just got done ironing DH's slacks and shirts. I hate ironing...but he was out of fresh clothes, so guess it's gotta get done. Now I have to go unbury my dining room table from all the clutter. And have some filing to do too, not to mention try to balance my checkbook and pay a few bills...ICK! Hope everyone starts to feel better soon!!!
