  • Hi Everyone! Yesterday, I stayed OP. Last night, I really wanted to eat more, but instead I did some circuit training. I was proud of myself.

I probably will not be able to check in tomorrow and Friday. I will be at my mom's house helping her since she's recovering from her knee replacement. She's doing awesome, but my dad is out of town this week. We don't want her to be alone just in case.

If I can't get on to check in, remember that I'm thinking about all of you. Last night on the show, Roger said he had a little Bob sitting on his shoulder. I have a little Chick sitting on my shoulder.
  • Melissa73...it sounds to me like your son is doing just fantastic with his eating! As long as he stays active and keeps those sweet teeth in moderation he's living the healthy lifestyle, you taught him well! Way to go on those workouts!! 53 days OP...you are my hero!!

Terepet...its never too late to turn the day around. We should never wait till tomorrow! I'm glad you are getting some perspective on what truly matters and it puts you at ease! Be good to you!! I'm glad your dd is having a blast!

cecil...you'll get back down, dont stress it! Just keep making those healthy choices! You can do it!!

Barbara...excellent job working out during the show!! You'll get back into the swing! I know you can do it!

Tina...woohoo!! Excellent job on your workout!! I hope you have a wonderful meeting tonight! Nothing to stress about, its all for the good!

Cathy...you can just put whatever you can remember on the vacation thread. Excellent job by the way!! You are just cruising along! Keep it up!

Mom23bc...i cant help you on the stroller, its been so long since I needed them and even then I just had the regular flat surface one for the mall. You'll know if the 3day is right for you. Just keep weighing the good and the not so good. It'll come to you!

Diva...I second what you said! LOL! Being alive is more important that chips and cookies! Way to go on that running btw!!

Sara...I'm so sorry for your losses. Its funny how that emotional eating can pop up and catch us even when we think we've got it under control. For the longest time I never thought I was a stress eater either. I hope you find comfort and your entire family heals soon. Excellent job yesterday!!

Muse...I am SO excited for you!! You really do give new meaning to the challenge!! That is just fantastic and I hope we get to hear all about training and then the big day!! You are just amazing!! Way to go!
  • Danielle...so how did that challenge go last night? Feeling those squats? LOL!! Bob would be so proud of you!

Andi...I'm so excited for you to start C25K!! Apparently there is a group in the exercise forum that is all starting C25K on March 1. Excellent job at bootcamp!! Way to go Marty!! LOL!

    Counting.... How's everything?!

caksesl...I was wondering what happened to you!! Had me worried! I'm glad to hear it wasnt anything big, it happens, thats what freebies are for! Still in onederland so Yay!!!
  • Jen...you snuck in there on me! LOL!! We will miss you! I hope your mom heals quickly and painlessly! We'll be right there cheering on your healthy choices while you are way!
  • Hello All!
It's been a busy day at work today - both physically and emotionally. My boss' wife discovered that her cancer is back (after 10 or so years), and they did not get good news today. Other work things were stressful today too. I'm ready to work off my stress at my Zumba class tonight.

Take care everyone and I'll try to catch up later!
  • Oh Karen, I'm so sorry to hear that. I think you found a fantastic way to work out the stress though! Excellent choice!
  • Okay I'm going to unwind with you all before my meeting. Remember how I said I wasn't nervous well I am now. I just don't know how these ladies are going to take me. There are only 3 of them in the group. I'm happy to have my SIL going with me tonight, but still I'm the one who is going to have to talk. I just hope that what I think I have is what I have. I know I think about food 24/7, I hide wrappers, I binge. I just want to feel welcome and I don't want them looking at me like "what is she doing here" I was reading that most people with OA are overweight, well I once was almost 70 lbs heavier. I just don't want to be made to feel like I'm crazy. Not sure if any of this is even making sense. I'm going to do personals before I ramble into eternity

Kari- Great job on all the exercise. Glad you guys are enjoying your gym!

Muse- I'm an awful swimmer...I look like I'm drowning when I try to swim actually!LOL! Good for you for signing up and making that commitment. You go girl~

Laura- I've heard a lot about acai, it's really good I hear!

Cakses- I'm with ya....once I take a few days off from exercise it's always so much harder when I start back up.

Counting- Hello...hope your having a good day

Roni- Hey girl how's it going?

Andi- Wow -30 to -40 now that is cold!!!! I would die out in that. Great job on bootcamp

Melissa73- Oh I love Chilis. I always get in trouble with the neverending chips and salsa, and maybe a margarita or two Squats and lunges you'll be feeling those tomorrow girl. They are supposed to be a great lower body exercise though.

Sara- Here's to starting fresh hun! You've been through a lot the last couple of weeks. Glad to see ya back here

Mom23BC- Sending best wishes for you MIL's surgery. I wanted to tell you if this whole 3-day walk thing seems too overwhelming right now, just forget about it until next year. They do one every year right? It just sounds like you have a lot on your plater right now, and you'll want to be able to commit 100% when you do decide to do the walk.

Cat- Great job on the exercise. Keep it up

Barbara- Hello...hope your legs are feeling better

Cecil- I hope your day is going well

Tera- Hey it's never to late to get back OP...just get start fresh from this point. You can do it hun!

Melissa- Glad to hear the exam was a piece of cake....that's always nice Hey next time the lady gives ya a mean look just smile your sweetest smile at her...that always irratates miserable people!LOL!

Jen- How great that instead of eating you circuit trained. That is a huge NSV!!!! I'm glad to hear your mom is doing well. Have fun visiting with her.

Karen- So sorry to hear about your boss' wife. I hope you can work some of your stress away tonight at Zumba class.

  • Just wanted to let everyone know why I haven't been around the last couple of days. Stopped in the house and thought I would take a few min to post. Elderly lady across the street fell a few days ago. Her husband just can't take care of her, he is older than she is. I have been spending most of my time over there when I am not here cooking and cleaning for my own family. Poor people, have no one to help them out so HEY, someone has to do it lol might as well be me. I have always tried to remember since before I was a teenager. Someday I am going to be old. Someday I am not going to be able to get around all that well. Someday I will need help. Will drop back in to chat tonight if I am not to tired. I did post my weigh in. Since I am only doing a weigh in every two weeks. I don't weigh in till next week. Hope everyone is doing well.
  • So I just wanted to tell everyone that I went out and bought those zip and steam bags and they are WONDERFUL!!!! Your veggies really do taste SO YUMMY!!!!! I also found tortillas that are like a 1/2 of a WW point and they are so good too!!!!
  • Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a great week Mine has been crazy busy again with work. Our office was closed on Monday for Family Day so the rest of this week has been playing catch-up. My eating has been great though, but exercise just hasn't been happening - so we'll see where I net out at the end of this week.

Utahgirl - I haven't tried the zip and steam bags yet, but maybe I'll have to give them a try! What brand are the 1/2 point tortillas?

Rennie - you are so kind to help out your ailing neighbour. It breaks my heart to see elderly people that do not have anyone to care for them.

Tina - don't be nervous, I'm sure everyone will be very welcoming. If anything you'll serve as a source of inspiration after all your hard work to get the 70lbs off. And you should be commended for recognizing your food issues and seeking help before your eating gets out of control. Hope it goes well!

Karen - sorry you had a tough day at work. What is Zumba? I see it on the list for one of the gyms in my area but have not tried it. The name alone sounds like fun!

Jen - way to go with choosing the workout over the munchies! Hope your mom has a speedy recovery

Melissa - I missed the last chance workout and TBL (PVR'd will watch tonight). Glad to hear that your exam was easy peasy!

Melissa73 - Keep up the great workouts! You're doing such a wonderful job and you're so inspiring!

Terapet - After an off-plan day, it so hard to be good - that's one of my biggest challenges. Hope you enjoy your dinner regardless of whether it's OP or not.

That's it for me - I have to hop back on the work computer and do a few things before bed. Have a great night everyone!
  • Quote: Utahgirl - I haven't tried the zip and steam bags yet, but maybe I'll have to give them a try! What brand are the 1/2 point tortillas?
They are called La Tortilla Factory Whole Wheat Tortillas.....They have 8 grams of fiber....50 calories and 2 grams of fat. They are totally awesome
  • La Tortilla Factory Whole Wheat Tortillas...

I eat those too they are awesome. We make Tacos with spiced chicken breast and load up on red peppers, tomato, and lettuce. It's nice not having to worry about the calories in the wrap.

A tip: spray the tiniest bit of olive oil on the wraps and season them just a bit with whatever and pop in the toaster oven for just a minute they will be warm and not quite so floppy... but leave them in too long and they crisp up so just for 30seconds-1min

Thanks for sharing my joy about the Tri everyone. You rock!

I also just stick them in the microwave for about 15 sec and that is great also!
  • Just a quick pop-in to say hello - not much time for personals. Tina - stay strong. The first meeting is the hardest. They WILL understand - and you will find so much insight and support and strength from the meetings and members.

Shy - what a blessing you are to those around you! Including your friends here at 3FC! You are a great role-model for all of us

To everyone that is struggling with loss or illness right now - I will continue to keep you in my prayers. It is hard to stay focused on eating plans when life throws things at us. Stay strong - you CAN do this - and let us know if there is anything we can do to help you

I'm off to watch the eclipse. Have a great evening and POP day tomorrow!

    Laurie
  • Just saying hello to everyone Today is my last "official" day in Boston for the week, but I'm actually staying with a friend in town tonight and flying back first thing in the morning. Will try to check in again later today.
